About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed, 2.5 Baths on the lake

R and R Lake House on Ochoco Reservoir near Prineville, built in 2007 is on serene and tranquil Ochoco Reservoir. There is a dock for fishing, skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, swimming, sunbathing and simply relaxing. Read a book on our huge deck and BBQ later. The yard is big enough for volleyball or a mean game of horseshoes.

The name of the game is relaxation and connection. We have endless lakefront opportunities along with new high speed broadband cable internet WiFi and TV. Play a game of scrabble and catch up with your kids!! Or come with a group of ladies and do some scrapbooking, watch movies and have an old fashioned slumber party!! Dads and kids can come and fish and have a dedicated Dad's weekend!!

This is also a great place to have a wedding, family reunion, company picnic or other event. There is lots of room for parking and the view is sensational!!

Why Sooz Dixon chose Central Oregon

We love this location because it's only 40 miles from Bend and 25 minutes from the Bend-Redmond airport which has non-stop service from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver and Seattle on United, Delta, Alaska and American airlines. If you have your own plane, we are just 12 miles from the Prineville airport which has very affordable enclosed hangers for lease. Our Lake House is located just 7 miles east of Prineville so we enjoy the convenience of a town so near, but it feels like we are way out in the country. Being right on the water is so fun for throwing rocks, swimming, fishing, looking for tadpoles, getting out in the row boat or ski boat and watching bald eagles, osprey and white pelicans. We love the huge yard, deck and firepit and enjoy hosting friends because it's so simple to BBQ and play on the lake. We also have a tree house and rope swing for the kids. Our fenced and irrigated garden area produces great fresh produce during the years when we have the time to plant it and our fenced and irrigated orchard produces a small quantity of sweet cherries, apples, peaches and pears.

What makes this house unique

We love having time to just read in the hammock, put together a puzzle, or pick up cool rocks. The lake is never crowded even on a holiday weekend. We are on the slow end of the lake and we might see a handful of fishing boats over an entire weekend!! We take the quick boat ride to the fast end of the lake for wakeboarding, water skiing and tubing. Evenings almost always involve a bonfire with s'mores, gazing at the stars and sometimes fireworks. It's so dark out there at night so the stars and moon are especially bright and beautiful.

Everything was fantastic

  • 5 of 5

Very nice place to disconnect from it all. Great to be able to actually cut the chord with no cell service or Internet for outside distractions. The house is set up wonderfully. The private dock is a great bonus to be able to have the boat right there. Water was warm enough to swim and play in and with the house situated in the no wake zone there was no sneaker waves to worry about with little kids. Great sandy beach to play and relax on. All the binoculars were a bonus as well to let everyone watch the animals across the lake. We will definitely be back.

What an amazing...amazing...AMAZING time we had!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures on your website just dont do the place justice! The amenities and details of the place far exceeded what we imagined. We had the most wonderful time! We enjoyed everything your place had to offer. The sleeping arrangements were perfect. My nephew and his wife pitched a tent just off the edge of the property on a flat grassy null and they loved it. We went fishing most of the days and caught trout, bass, and catfish. When the days got really hot we stayed inside and played card games and such. This trip was rated (by the whole family) as one of our top loved trips! My mother (75 yrs old) was so happy she got to enjoy another year with the family and it was all because we were able to stay at your lovely house! My sister just text me and wanted me to forward onto you that "It was the best family vacation! And that we enjoyed every minute!"

Words cannot express out gratitude and enjoyment of your beautiful vacation home.....only that we will be checking in with you next year for yet another FANTASTIC vacation!!

Thank You so Much!!

We loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week in June/July 2011. Our family came & went as they had time off of work. It worked out beautifully for adults, kids, and dogs. We were very pleased with the entire place. We are planning to come again this summer!

Wonderful view home, but watch out for neighbors dogs!

  • 3 of 5

We stayed here with the In-laws who rented this home for their annual family trip and we were mostly impressed with the property. The home was very nicely decorated and comfortable. There is a ton of activities for the kids and adults. The view is so relaxing and wonderful at anytime of the day and the stars are amazing at night. We really enjoyed the outdoor living area on the deck and the outdoor shower. We did however encounter some problems here with the neighbors uncontrolled dogs which attacked one of our small dogs. The DVD player didn't work and most of the outdoor plugs didn't function either, we also couldn't get the kids Electric hummer to work either.

Owner's Response: Update for summer of 2011...the neighbor with the unruly dog has since moved!! Always a good idea to leash your dog until they get to know the area!! Also, the DVD player has been replaced and the outdoor outlets work again. The Hummer has seen better days but is working at this point!! Please let us know if you encounter any problems while you are at the lake so we have a chance to take care of it for you!! Thanks Sooz Dixon
