The Wayback is a casual boutique hotel 15 minutes west of downtown. Our style here is friendly, comfortable and classic. Surrounded by hills and a big Texas sky, The Wayback is a place to feel the breeze, be carefree and linger.

The Wayback property features:
-eight board and batten cottages furnished with a mix of classics and a fresh touch. Cottages sleep 1-4 people. For travelers or an in-town getaway, the cottages are intimate, comfortable and lovely.
-a cafe that serves traditional food using the best ingredients available. The cafe is open to the public for breakfast, lunch, dinner and happy hour Tuesday through Sunday.
-a combination drink/pool cabana as the spot to get a picnic lunch or drink. Ask for a picnic blanket and look for a casual spot on the lawn.
-event spaces with lawns and views to host up to 100 guests. The cafe, cabana, fire pit and saltwater pool are also available for a full or partial buyout. For events hosted by The Wayback, check out the ‘Events’ tab on our website. There is an addtional fee for hosting an Event at The Wayback Austin

Mother-daughter team Vicki Bly and Sydney Sue envisioned The Wayback as a place close enough to downtown but far enough away to experience the beauty of the hills. “Our original idea was to open a small coffee shop, but while planning, The Wayback evolved into a much needed farm-to-table cafe, cottages and grounds for private events. The property and views are beautiful. We want this to become a neighborhood place where our Westlake community can gather with friends and enjoy the natural beauty of where we live.”
