Family Fun at Belle du Jour

We had an absolutely lovely time at Valerie’s home. We stayed one week with two of our children. It was beautiful, relaxing and a lovely jaunt away from Gordes. It was our first time to Provence and it won’t be our last! It was hot, but the air-conditioning on the first floor worked well for sleeping and breeze during the day. My daughter slept on the top floor and was perfectly comfortable. Adults used to AC may find it uncomfortable. The view from the chairs by the pool in the evening makes it all worth it. Other notes: We cooked breakfast at home everyday which was quite feasible. We made a few dinners at home as well. All necessary equipment is there for cooking. The home is quite clean and well-cared for. Comments: The bed on the first floor with the AC is relatively uncomfortable for a couple. We are average to small middle-aged adults, so I would note this if you are sensitive to where you sleep. Additionally, be sure to arrive with all the things you may need for the first evening and morning. Otherwise—you cannot go wrong with Valerie’s beautiful home!!!

Ein Kleinod in schönster Umgebung ist das Haus am Fuße der Stadt Gordes. Das historische Haus ist phantastisch renoviert. Lediglich der Zufahrtsweg ist nichts für große Autos gedacht. Vielen Dank an die super nette Gastgeberin.
Der Pool und das Haus liegen in völliger Ruhe.
Bis nach Gordes sind es 30 Minuten zu Fuß, bei der man die Landschaft genießen kann.

This was exactly what we hoped it would be - a charming, quiet place to stay, spending mornings touring local villages and afternoons by the pool. It is very comfortable and well equipped and the pool is very refreshing (it was 90 degrees every day of our stay).

Provence at it's finest

The property was fantastic. An excellent location for exploring all the towns and villages of Provence. My wife and I stayed for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed the charm of the home as well as the pool. The farmhouse was nicely private yet was very close to the roads around Gordes and surrounding countryside. We took advantage of frequenting several of the restaurants nearby, but we also would eat some dinners at the house using the very homey long dinner table in the kitchen. Overall, our stay was wonderful ... I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding home base to see Provence.

Très belle maison au calme dans la nature.

Belle maison en pierre, beaucoup de charme, très bien décorée. On s’y sent comme chez soi. Belle piscine, nous aurions bien aimé en profiter d’avantage mais le temps n’a pas été clément.

Schönes Haus, sehr ruhig gelegen

Wir hatten mit unserer etwa chsenen Tochter eine sehr schöne Zeit mitte März in diesem Haus. Tolle Wanderungen direkt vom Haus möglich. Einzig die Küchenausstattung ist für selbstverpfeger vermessungswürdig. Leider gibt es nur 2 Induktionsplatten und mit einer großen Pfanne ist es scher einen weiteren Topf uu platzieren. Wir haben uns im Supermarkt eine zusätzliche Induktionsplatte für kleines Geld gekauft. Damit war das Problem gelöst.

Belle villa, beaucoup de charme, au calme

Avons passé un très bon séjour. La villa est très belle, au calme, un peu isolée, parfaite pour un séjour reposant. Elle est meublée et aménagée avec goût. Très propre, et bien chauffée (séjour pour 2 adultes du 28 décembre au 4 janvier 2024). Belle cheminée! Il ne manque rien, que l'été et le soleil pour profiter de la piscine ! Avons pu tout de même profiter de la jolie terrasse pour des déjeuners ensoleillés ! Merci à Maryse, notre cleaning lady sur place, bienveillante et efficace, un vrai rayon de soleil ! Je recommande sans hésitation cette location.

Séjour parfait!

Nous avons passé des vacances de fin d'année au calme dans un cadre idyllique. La maison de Valérie est idéalement située au bout d'un chemin, sans vis-à-vis et sans voisin proche.Le jardin est grand avec une belle terrasse. A l'intérieur, les différents espaces, cuisine/séjour, salons sont propices à diverses activités familiales. La maison est belle, meublée avec goût et très bien entretenue.Nous recommandons vivement cette location !

Peaceful place/great location

Really enjoyed the property. Quaint villa property off the beaten path in the beautiful town of Gordes. Perfect location to explore the area. House is very comfortable and in great shape. Off season so didn't get to enjoy the pool but would be the perfect place to relax . Owner was very helpful and nice.

Beautiful home and location

This property is very comfortable and has all the conveniences you would need . Well equipped . I have to say we did not find it walkable to the village of Gordes and we do a lot of walking. Its not far but it requires walking on the road close to traffic with lots of blind curves and fast drivers. Its a short drive but be aware that it costs 8eu every time you park there. The best places to park are the several parking lots at the top of the hill in the village.

Beautiful spot for a relaxing holiday

This is a beautiful house with a stunning town on the doorstep. We loved our early morning walks to the town for coffee, incredible views and collecting delicious fresh, local goodies for days by the pool. The weather was so hot we didn’t explore that much, but had a fantastic and relaxing stay.

Beautiful and well-appointed house. Very private with beautiful garden and pool. Perfect for two couples. Larger groups might find only two toilets to be inconvenient, and one of the three showers wasn’t working while we were there.

Wir verbrachten zwei herrliche Wochen im Haus von Valerie. Es fehlte an nichts und trotz der abgeschiedenen Lage waren wir in max. 30 min in den schönsten Orten und herrlichsten Plätzen der Provence. Gordes selbst war in unter einer halben Stunde zu Fuß erreichbar. Morgens frische Croissants und danach wartete der saubere und erfrischende Pool auf uns. Ein wunderschönes Haus mitten in dieser wundervollen Gegend....sehr zu empfehlen!!!

Exceptional stay

Would give 10 stars if I could- wonderful stay. The house was so clean and well prepared for us. Felt luxury rustic. There was great detail put into the design. Easy communication with the owner. Great location down a picturesque street and easy to get in and out of Gordes town. Would definitely stay here again.

The most wonderful stay in a beautiful place

Oasis in Provence

The house is beautiful and spacious, lots of room to spread out. Garden beautiful and peaceful. Location close to town but far enough away to be very quiet. Loved the beverage station and large dining table. Lots of light in the living area, wifi and TV great and easy to use.

I work as an event organiser in my own business. I am currently working on an Expo which will take place in the heart of London. I have four talented daughters who are my pride and joy. Like me they all love music. They work as a lawyer, a writer, a nutritionist and a journalist. We are London based except for one living in Los Angeles and my youngest who lives in Paris so its fun to go and see her on my way to Provence.

Belle De Jour is a place people fall in love with whether they are honey moon couples or children who love to swim and create fantasies in a large unexpected garden. There is so much breathtaking beauty in the natural landscape, the mountains, rivers, streams, fields of lavender, poppies or sunflowers, the majestic plantain trees each a work of natural art. There are tons of great markets whatever you're into. I love antiques so on Saturdays, I go to Villeneuve next to Avignon, browse or buy and then sit and eat oysters, chips and drink champagne. Local people come there so its not a touristy experience at all. Of course the most famous antique market is in Isle Sur Le Sorgue. Even if you don't buy it is always a great day and you can eat sitting at a restaurant or picnic next to the glassy clear running waters of the Sorgue. Its just enchanting. Every village has its own character and is stunning with festivals in the summer and plenty of theatre and live music and exhibitions. Also great for sport from horse riding to kayaking and loads of high adventure stuff for children.

The house is in a village but feels like a hideaway. That makes it romantic. The pool is lovely because it is painted not tiled so the water is a lovely very clear grey blue which is cool. Les Bories which is minutes away boasts some famous neighbours. Elton John, Posh and Becks, John Malkovich and most of all Gordes is where Russel Crowe's film A Good Year was filmed and if you've seen it you know that the best thing about the film was the beautiful setting. Its also easy to have a great time here. Marseille is less then an hour's drive so you can go and have a day by the beach. The famous city of Avignon (now described as the mini Barcelona) is just a 25 minutes drive. You can have the rural, town, city, mountain for skiing or hiking and beach experience as you wish. its all yours or just stay at home and eat, swim, read, walk RELAX.
