BEACHES & CRITTERS: The beach size in Hawaii varies month to month due to heavy surf, strong currents and tides. Due to Maui’s rural atmosphere you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don’t kill them.

IMPORTANT: Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Hawaii is located in a tropical climate, and insects, rodents and lizards flourish in this environment. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. Any contact with such pests within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustments.

Pictures and description are far from what the actual room was. Read small print they use great view pictures to sell you then you get there and don’t have the views but paid the price

We arrived late and did not get the room expected. The property managers and the staff at Aston Kaanapali Shores were awesome! Very responsive and we were moved into the correct room the next morning. The room was beautiful and the view was outstanding. We loved the pools and convenient pool bar/restaurant. Mahalo

My husband and I took this trip for a destination wedding but wanted to stay within budget. This listing was clean, spacious, and well stocked with all the kitchen supplies you need. Beautiful ocean view. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The resort is in an amazing location. Highly recommend. Great hosts.

Breathtaking views

Everything was amazing. The view from our room was so beautiful. I could spend hours out on the balcony. Loved the resort. Many amenities. So nice having a restaurant and shopping on the property. Absolutely recommed to all. Thank you for sharing your place with us!

Ocean view, not ocean front

Everything about this place was great. Don't get confused by the listing name like I did. The property is certainly ocean front but not the condo. There was a good view of the waves but it wasn't a front and center location. We were sad that the bedroom windows didn't open to fall asleep to the sound of the waves but having the livingroom sliders open and the ac off remedied that. We loved having the laundry available in the condo. It's for sure a place we would come back to again.

Our Maui Vacation

We had a wonderful time!Property was nice. Room was neat and clean. We spent most of our time running around the island snorkeling, hiking or playing golf.Swimming pool was heated (February). Played pickle ball.Only warning is if you are renting a larger vehicle beware of tight parking spaces. If vehicle has a lift tail gate be careful when parking in the garage. Tail gate may hit fire suppression pipes or parts of the garage ceiling when opening.

The pictures showed the unit looking out over the pools and where the sun set. The unit we got looked out over the parking area towards the water but not in the sunset direction. The WiFi was not working for the first day which was inconvenient. We had to use our phones as hot spots. No blender, the wine opener was bent. There were 3 good knives!

Nice Property, few issues

In general, the property was good and we enjoyed our stay. A few things that took away from considering it being a 5 star in our opinion: 1. You have to pay to use the gym - which was very hotel basic (which wasn’t advertised when booking on the app) 2. To watch movies that were R on cable you had to enter a parental pin but nobody could give it to us neither the property manager or hotel desk and got bounced between weeen the two 3. Kitchen amenities basic - for example one frying pan only which was very poor quality and everything stuck 4. Very difficult to get a spot at either pool due to volume of people 5, unit isn’t the one pictured - although comparable - but should be advertising the same one. Otherwise, good experience.

Perfect Maui Experience

The staff was so kind & helpfulas From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out we felt cared for & welcomed. Our assigned condo had an AMAZING ocean view, we thought we would only see a sliver of water, but instead we spent hours on the lanai/balcony watching whales & sunsets & relaxing. We overlooked the garden/pool & had the ocean in the background, absolutely perfect. Some perks we loved but didn't know ahead of time: swim towels available to check out & swap when you need a fresh/dry one, free DVD "rentals" with current popular titles, filtered water dispenser in the lobby to fill personal water bottles, in-room coffee replenished daily (includes filter, brew yourself), room cleaned daily & bath towels replenished as needed, tennis, pickle ball and shuffleboard equipment available at the front desk for free on a "first come first serve" basis. Our kids (16, 14, 12) had lots to do & we (parents) did too! Only two minor things - front door to our condo (we were assigned 733) slammed so hard that it was alarming, probably needs a fix. The kitchen utensils/pots/pans/cups/plates were great, but the bowls were very shallow maybe for soup/salad/pasta and we needed cereal bowls. We just bought some disposable ones & washed them. Many stores within walking distance, condos are across the street from a large grocery store and a few food places and souvenir stores, down the street from a few more food places, gas station with an ABC store with an excellent selection of anything we wanted/forgot. Also a parking lot with semi-permanent food trucks open every night, including picnic tables. We are already brainstorming how we can get back to Maui, stay at Kaanapali Shores and bring more of our family!

Our room was originally an obstructed view room within the resort, which was not what we were expecting consider the description on the page. We were moved to a true ocean view room the next day. Got a quick response and we’re able to get it resolved. Cleanliness, amenities, location are all great!

Nice property

Nice property with pools and spas. Right on the ocean with a great view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wish the kitchen had a few more utensils such as pizza cutter, some food storage options, otherwise was great overall.
