1930's remodeled 2 bedroom, 1 bath beach cottage. Sleeps 6. Two twin beds, one queen and a queen size hide-a-bed. Dishwasher, washer and dryer. Views of the river from most windows. 2 hours from Baltimore and 1 1/2 hrs from Washington DC, this locations offers the opportunity for many natural and cultural experiences. Located near the first capital of Maryland, St. Mary's city, historic Colonial and Civil War sites and memorial, and the United States Naval Test Center, St. Mary's county offers something for everyone. This is an excellent sandy beach for SUP and kayaks. Fish off the beach or paddle out into the river. Local marinas offer boat launching facilities. A list of near by restaurants, markets, shops, hiking trails and museums are provided.

Weekend getaway

Quaint home with great views of the river. Clean and well taken care of. Owners live next door and we’re very accommodating. Would highly recommend this for a nice getaway.

Wonderful backyard view, comfy beds and a overall great place to stay for a few nights. Kitchen was well stocked with anything needed for all meals.

Wonderful, restful and beautiful stay.

This is the 4th time we come and we love it just as much as the first time. A great escape from Washington DC for a few days with such an amazing and peaceful view on the Chesapeake Bay.

McKays Beach

A very nice, quiet, and private weekend get away to celebrate a B-Day! Very clean and well stocked. It was a perfect spot for some quiet, uninterrupted fishing and college football. The weather was perfect. We will more than likely return for another stay!

Loretto Community

Four elders on a "roots" journey enjoyed two nights on the shores of the Potomac, lovely, comfortable and convenient. We had to change our plans twice, which our host accommodated with good humor. Everything about the house was a pleasure.

LORETTO AT THE POTOMAC

Four roots enthusiasts enjoyed every minute in this charmingly modern-traditional bungalow, with the river literally at our feet and a wonderful blue heron to greet us each morning.

Quiet Retreat

This location was a wonderful place to get away from life. The sunsets are great and it's very quiet. It's right on the water and perfect for kayaking. We were able to do day trips to Calvert Cliffs and Historic St Mary's City/St Mary's College of Maryland. The house was comfortable and clean. The owners provided a lot of items that we needed. We hope to return in the future.

Perfect hidden gem!

Comfortable two bedroom, fully equipped spacious cottage with an incredible view of the Potomac and its breathtaking sunsets! We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. It could not have been nicer! We didn’t want to leave…. Fully equipped with linens and full kitchen accessories! The four of us simply loved our heavenly weekend!! Even enjoyed use of the kayak and paddle board!!!

Quick Getaway

We just love this house and its owners! Lauri and Scott have created a perfect little hideaway on the river. This is our third stay here and we will definitely be back. The hosts are so kind and thoughtful, and really go the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect!

Perfect spot by the river!

The hosts, who were helpful and readily available, have done a wonderful job of renovating this little cottage to be spacious and bright. Every detail is well thought-out, with comfort and coziness in mind, including comfy beds, plush towels, easy access, and enjoyable outdoor space. The beach is the right size for relaxing and swimming. This was a brief trip with a friend, and I’ll return to this cottage in the future, for sure!

Get Away Weekend

Our group of friends had a wonderful weekend getaway at this charming cottage. All of us live locally, but wanted a chance to spend quality time together, and this cottage provided the perfect setting. The property was immaculately clean, quaint, and beautifully maintained. It was well-stocked with all the essentials, making our stay comfortable and hassle-free. The cottage's cozy atmosphere and thoughtful amenities allowed us to relax, reconnect, and create lasting memories. We couldn't have asked for a better place to host our friends' retreat.

Lovely stay in St Mary’s Co

A perfectly quaint place right on the water. My only complaint is there was no tub for the kids to bath in and the shower backed up a little, other than that it was great. Would definitely stay there again!

A Little Piece of Heaven

We recently purchased the cottage next door from family friends. We set about a year converting it to open, airy cottage. We have lived in this neighborhood for over 30 years and are happy to share this amazing and magical place with you. Scott is a retired Navy Test Pilot and currently working in the Electric Vehicle Industry and Lauri is a Yoga Therapist and Artist. Many of her paintings hang in the cottage. We are happy to help you make your stay as memorable as possible. Enjoy!

Valley Lee Maryland has been home to us since 1984. The home next to the cottage was our first home we ever purchased. This is one of the most beautiful spots on earth. We have travel extensively but for pure peace and beauty this is it for us.

You can see some body of water from every room in the house. The living room faces west and the sunsets paint the house with every color you can imagine. You can swim, float, borrow our kayaks, fish, crab and just sit and gaze at the beauty around you. Enjoy a picnic or a cookout and dine as the sunset over the Potomac.
