Point Lookout State Park is a few miles down the road, Take a sunset cruise, Rent a pontoon boat for the day, Go horseback riding, Check out nearby Solomon's Island and Calvert Marine Museum, Schedule a photo shoot for your family.

Stroll for miles in either direction, collect sea glass, Kids can play on the beach right outside the door, while you sit on the porch. Kayak on the Bay (2 provided), as well as back the creek. Sit on the screened in porch and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Bay. Enjoy dinner on the side deck, Watch several species of birds fish, including the majestic Bald Eagles (my favorite).
Life is beautiful at the Bay, sit, relax and take a deep breath from your everyday life, and enjoy the beauty all around you~ no matter what the season is ~ the wildlife are in full swing.

DID YOU KNOW Point Lookout State Park is our neighbor! If you want a short break from sand and sun, you may want to take a day trip over to the Park. If you are into paranormal /ghost, Point Lookout is one of the top in the NATION to be haunted. ( link on webpage), IT's filled with Civil War History, check it out!
In the winter months, put on your sweatshirt, cozy up with a blanket, and enjoy the screened in porch with your morning coffee, or late night hot toddy. FALL is warm and very nice to be at the cottage on the water.
Do you HUNT ? The cottage is surrounded with hundreds of public acreage within a 5 miles radius, and even more public hunting in the neighboring cities. (State laws/requirements must be followed), please check Maryland State hunting seasons and laws, St. Mary's County.
The views of the sunrising over the Bay are breathtaking ~ What a great way to start your day!
Early morning is also a great time to find those little treasures and sea glass. Throw your line in and catch dinner right in your own front yard. Or kayak down the creek. Maryland blue crabs can be scooped up in a net or bucket just steps away, down the beach to the right , where the Creek meets the Bay.
KAYAKS and life jackets are provided at cottage (2), (USE AT YOUR OWN RISK) be mindful of the changing water/wind patterns.
What ever the occasion is that brings you to our cottage, you are sure to find exactly what your soul needs! Open floor plan in living room / kitchen area, sleep sofa for more sleeping space (full size bed) . Living room has new 65” TV . With 240 channels. Bedrooms are spacious with lots of room to unpack and put your belongs in the closet or dressers. Bedrooms have King size bed and 2nd bedroom has queen size bed. New 43” tv’s in each bedroom. In the Laundry Room you will find washer/ dryer, vacuum, cleaning supplies etc. Bathroom has a wall of hooks to hang your towels, swimwear etc. (Towels provided) Kitchen area is open with a large island, kitchen table, refrigerator, microwave, stove, and a Keurig coffee maker, as well as a regular coffee maker.
Fully Stocked kitchen with your essentials, including a crap pot if you choose to boil up the fresh catch from the day, blender, electric frying pan, air fryer, etc. Linens, towels/ wash cloths are provided. A few beach towels as well. Shampoo, body wash provided if you forget to bring yours.
** Bring your own fishing poles, bait can be purchased at Buzz’s Country Store or the bait shop as you were coming into town on Rt 235, as well as Bay Mart, and Ridge Market. Rod holders are also at the house for your convenience. Ridge Market offers a selection of beer/liquor and is right in town ( limited bait can be purchased here also) There is also a Dollar General for all your essentials and True Value Hardware in town. St James Deli & Spirits is on Rt 235 about 3 miles up road... GREAT little place for breakfast/lunch/dinner AND they have a coffee Shop! About 17 miles up the road on Rt 235 you will find the town of Hollywood, and right beside it the town of California, here you will see all kinds of shopping and restaurants/ food chains. Solomon's Island is right across the bridge and is a great little water town with fine dining and shops, and a pier to stroll along while you have ice cream. ( link on webpage)
Hike? You might a day trip up to Calvert Cliffs State Park~ 13 miles of hiking trails. You might also enjoy Newtowne Neck State Park~ trails and scenery. As you can see, there is lots to do here in St Mary’s County MD, if you choose to, sitting on the beach with a book in hand is perfectly ok too :)
Our little gem on the water is surrounded by creatures, that call this land home, please respect the mammals, and wildlife if you encounter them. Birding in exceptional in these parts, especially in the fall and winter months. St George Island is great to scope out birds.. it’s only a short drive down Rt 5 about 29 miles.. make reservations at the Ruddy Duck while you are down that way.. great place to eat, surrounded by water on both sides! The turtles can be seen relaxing in the early morning hours, of early summer, their head will stick out of the water as they float about.
