We wanted a nature-filled getaway and we got it! The house was very secluded at the end of a cul-de-sac with the neighbors spaced far away.
We went during a very hot weekend (in the 90s) and we were concerned about the lack of central AC. There is one AC unit in the living room with a ceiling fan and another in the upstairs bedroom with no door, which also has a ceiling fan. The other 2 bedrooms did not have AC, but the other upstairs bedroom had a ceiling fan. Anastasia was very receptive to our concern and offered to reimburse us if we bought a fan and left it. We luckily didn’t need to do that as after the first night with the AC running the temp in the house dropped and we were comfortable.
There was a great selection of books and games, as well as a Roku TV. The kitchen has plenty of pots and pans and the refrigerator has water and ice. We had an issue with very large black ants in the house coming in through the dishwasher and next to the stove, most likely due to the heat, but it was pretty isolated and didn’t cause too many issues.
The creek across from the house was a great place to put your feet in, and the kids “invented” creek paddle boarding with the snow boogie boards. The hiking path outside the house was very overgrown and we were only able to go about 0.25 miles in before we couldn’t see a real path anymore. The house is located within 15-30 minutes of so many excellent waterfall hikes, too!
Overall, it was a beautiful area and provided a wonderful place for our family to escape to nature and still feel the comforts of home. We would definitely rent again!
