About Lorinn Rhodes

Our family is the only remaining original owner who built this house with three other families, and we cannot imagine life without it. In the last few years, we have enthusiastically set about updating the kitchen, living areas, deck and interior decorating, and result is a warm, comfortable home filled with art and personal touches that invites you and your family and friends to come experience and savor the incredible Colorado High Country.

Lorinn Rhodes purchased this house in 1975

Why Lorinn Rhodes chose Keystone

Keystone is a fantastic part of Summit County, just an hour from Denver but still a great adventure destination for families and groups. Our home is in the residential part of Keystone, just up the hill from and overlooking the Snake River. The house is close enough that we can walk to and enjoy the main village but far enough away that we are not affected by the noise, traffic and crowds of the hotel, village and condos. The house is just one mile from the Keystone Ski Area parking lot, and there is a free shuttle to the entire area with pick-up just two blocks away.

What makes this house unique

We have a transferable ski pass that we will share with you if your stay is 5 days or more.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for letting us stay in your cozy home this holiday season. We feel very special to be the last guests of 2013! We enjoyed the close proximity to the ski resorts and the snowy walking trails down by the river.

Happy New Year!

Great set up for families!

  • 5 of 5

We were not in this home for 30 minutes before my husband was talking about our visit next year. They're very accommodating and have thought if everything. The kids loves the cubby to relax and have just kid time!

Spacious, comfortable house well-located for mountain access

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 7 stay for a long weekend in March, and the house worked out perfectly. We skied three days - Vail, Brecekenridge, Copper Mtn - and the house was well-situated for access, Vail being the furthest at about 40 min. The house was well-equipped including a propane grill which worked well, a working fireplace (with wood) and all kitchen pans and utensils needed. There's also a garage for storing/drying gear accessible from the house.

We had 7 but the house could easily sleep more, as there is room for at least two in the living room (including a pullout couch) and double/queen beds in each of the three rooms plus 4 bunks. The outdoor space is great with a large deck, chairs, table, etc. There were also plenty of towels which was very helpful as it saved on packing space.

Overall, great option for a group looking for mountain access or other activities in the Keystone area, with a gorgeous surrounding landscape.
