The house is wonderful, great living room area, lots of space, nice bathrooms and bedrooms! And the outdoor area is great with multiple places for seating and hanging out!
From booking to check out everything was just what we wanted. Wonderful host and nice home.

So glad that you enjoyed your stay and my little house. Also glad that you found your tree! Have a wonderful Holiday and a special Christmas!
This was a great house for a vacation of a family of eight. It had plenty of room for us and it is near all the state parks and hiking trails we wanted to visit.

Thank you, Katie. Glad you enjoyed my house and the State parks and various hiking trails. I love the area also.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. We were a family attending a wedding at the Barn and the house offered everything we needed and then some. Would definitely recommend this property looking to enjoy this destination. Host was a pleasure to deal with!
Great stay. This weekend in Deep Creek has become a family tradition. On my short list for a repeat stay.
A little off the peaten path. Google Maps doesn't get it right.
Helen's directions were spot on.

So glad you enjoyed your stay, John. Come back anytime!
Stayed here first week of October with four adults and three pre-teen children. House is clean, super well equipped, comfortable beds and furniture, and a fabulous outdoor space. Kids loved having campfires in the firepit.
Quiet neighborhood. Deck is nice place to sit and relax. There shoulder season but still plenty to do, including OctoberFest at Wisp Resort, which was fun for kids and adults.
Host was very responsive and easy to contact. Would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our week-end here. The cabin is in a nice shady spot with near neighbors but isolated by trees and greenery. There are plenty of amenities indoor and out. The cabin condition is a little dated but amenities are as described here and everything is in working order. The cabin is more spacious than I expected from the beds & bath count so my family of 6 found it plenty large.
Garrett County MD is an amazing place with tons of natural forest beauty. Wow, didn't know about this as a destination but it's worth it!

Thank you, Joel, for your review. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Also glad that you discovered Garrett County. Yes, It is a beautiful place to spend some time. I love it there!!
The house was much bigger then I could tell from the pictures online. It was central to all we wanted to do. We were close to the lake access/beach and went kayaking. We played flag football on a field right next to Tennis courts that are right behind the house. We had a nice fire in the yard firepit and were able to cook a nice Thanksgiving dinner (pasta night instead of Traditional Turkey). Clean up and check out were easy. It was a great stay.

Thank you for your nice review of your stay at my houses. I am glad you had such a nice stay and enjoyed many activities. Sounded like a nice Thanksgiving. Thank you for taking such nice care of my house.
Helen's house is an incredible place. The listing describes it as cozy, which is often real-estate code for "cramped", but the house was spacious while still being wonderfully pleasant for a winter (or, I assume, summer!) getaway. It's easily accessible from the main roads, although a 4WD or AWD is advisable for a few sections that may be icy.
The main room is heated by a gas fireplace, which can also keep the rest of the house warm, and there are radiators in every room with individual controls.
The house was well maintained and nicely decorated; nothing fussy or overdone, just classy and pleasant.
While we brought our own utensils, the kitchen was well equipped and stocked.
I recommend this rental wholeheartedly.

Thank you, Mike, for enjoying my home so much. I loved all your descriptions and I am glad you think the way I do. You are always welcomed back. So glad the kids enjoyed the snow! It was ordered just for you!! Hope it was a safe trip home.
We walked in the front door and were in awe of the space. It is much more roomy than we were expecting. The flow of the living area and kitchen is great. We really enjoyed using the outdoor fire ring. It is walking distance to the lake- there is a even a dock that you could use if you plan to bring or rent kayaks.
The location is perfect. Close to Deep Creek Lake, Swallow Falls and Oakland.
Helen is a fantastic host. She was in contact with me a few days before with all of the house entry info and then even touched base to make sure I was aware of a local road closure that could have impacted my drive into town from home. I didnt have any problems during my stay, but I feel like she would have been very easy to contact if I had needed her to.
The house was basically as shown in the pictures. Our family of four had plenty of space and the yard area was quite nice. Access was easy and owner was communicative and responsive via text.
The listing should be updated to say that no towels are available (the owner texted this info to us the week of our stay) and also make clear that there is no AC and that the property only has access to the lake via a walk through the neighborhood, then a condo parking lot, and then a wooded path beyond that. We had to text the owner after we arrived to ask about lake access from the house since there was nothing in the VRBO Info binder at the property. Directions to the lake and dock should be added to that binder.
In addition, there was a lot of open food in the fridge, freezer and cabinets which felt a little odd. All closets were full of owner’s family’s things (coats, games, paper products, alcohol, tools, etc) so perhaps these should be locked as ‘owner’s closets’? It felt as if we were ‘using’ someone’s house for a weekend until they got back.

Thank you for your review. Some of it helped me a greatdeal.. I always try to provide what a guest may need during their stay. It is a Rent by Owner, it is my home, I do all my own cleaning and I believe it should have what a guest may need during their stay. Unless you got into my owner's locked closet, you found no clothes in the closets nor in the dresser drawers except extra sheets for the beds in that room. The closets held blankets and extra pillows for renters use and one closet has the puzzles on the top shelf.
I will change the towels request - fair enough! And to further explain the access to the lake. The new house being built has drastically changed our access for now! But still available.
I do keep mustard, mayonnaise, etc in the refrig to accommodate guests, if they possibly have missed packing! No alcohol drinks could have been found - never provided! The bathroom has bandaids, small lotions and soaps in a drawer for guests use.
You really were using some ones house until I got back to clean for my next guest. I do take great pride in my house.
I am glad that you enjoyed your stay..
I do believe the listing says that there is no air condition. Fans in each room except the down stair bedroom.
This property was exactly what we were looking for. The house was perfect for our group. Plenty of space and stocked with all that we needed. The rooms were clean and the beds were made up for our arrival. The kitchen was equipped with all appliances and items we needed to make our meals. The kids ran and played while the adults could sit and relax in the outdoor spaces. The short walk to the lake made it convenient as well. This property was exactly what we were looking for.
