With extraordinary sweeping views of the Estes valley, this luxury log home affords guests the grandiose seclusion of a mountain hideaway, but with the convenience of an in-town location.

About Shawn

I am a climber and a back-country skier as well as former Estes resident. There's no place better than this mountain wonderland.

Shawn purchased this house in 2007

Why Shawn chose Estes Park

I have been coming to Estes Park since 1986. It is a great place to gather the whole extended family. And get really scared doing adventure sports that I am now probably too old to do.

What makes this house unique

My property has the most incredible view and an amazing great room for getting the whole family together for special occasions and holidays. I have a hot tub on the deck to enjoy the clear starry nights.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wow, not sure if it's the hot tub on the deck or the views that were our favorite. Family loved it. Kids really liked the bunks. There are deer that roam around by the back of the house. Thanks for sharing your home.

Enjoying the beautiful mountain views of Estes Park

VRBO Bear stayed here

Feb 26, 2010

I decided to take the Bear family up to Estes Park, CO for a weekend of winter fun. Jack Frost decided to pay a visit to Estes Park, bringing along a foot of new snow and I was fortunate to have picked such a wonderful house to enjoy the snowy weekend. On the map, the Mont Blanc Chalet appears to be practically on the main road from Estes Park to Rocky Mountain National Park, but don’t be fooled – the road to the chalet requires a short drive up a winding mountain road. Once you’re there, you’d never realize that you’re so close to town. The wow factor at Mont Blanc is high; you enter the house from the driveway and walk up to the first floor and are greeted by a large living area with huge windows overlooking the Estes Valley. The whole bear family spent the first 10 minutes “oohing” and “aahing” over the house before we could even unload the Bearmobile. The Mont Blanc Chalet is a comfortable home on three levels. The cubs loved the loft area with its bunk beds and immediately made themselves at home, while the grown ups appreciated the kid friendly touches like gates for the stairs and bed railings for the upper bunks. The large kitchen features granite tile countertops and all the appliances and cooking utensils you need to create your own meals, which were enhanced by the amazing view right from the dining room table. If there’s a restaurant in Estes Park with a better view, this bear hasn’t found it yet. The bear family enjoyed the sunny deck, complete with hot tub, and one highlight of the stay came when a family of mule deer made their way down the driveway and spent a good half hour browsing for their dinner right below the deck. The wonderful thing about Mont Blanc is that even though it feels isolated, you’re only a short drive to everything Estes Park has to offer. The Fun City Amusement Park, the downtown area itself and the YMCA are all within 10 minutes, and Rocky Mountain National Park is just up the road. The YMCA was a highlight of the trip, and is a real hidden gem in Estes Park, offering all kinds of activities including roller skating, ice skating, and the new craft room, which provides an opportunity to make your own one-of-a-kind souvenirs and keepsakes. I heartily enjoyed my vacation at the Mont Blanc Chalet and recommend that you take advantage of everything it has to offer! The VRBO Bear

WE HAD 6 ADULTS AND 4 CHILDREN WHO ALL THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR STAY AT THE PROPERTY. ON ANOTHER VISIT TO ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK/ESTES PARK WE'D DEFINITELY LOOK FOR ITS AVAILABILITY.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Prepared to be wowed! This home is beautiful, spacious and clean. Combine all of that with the views from practically every window - it's worth every single penny!!! Our family of 10 (7 adults, 3 children) had ample room to spread out. The kitchen was a great size for gathering and working together. We loved being able to all sit together around the large dining table to eat dinners and recap our days.

The location is also just perfect!!! It's so close to everything and easily accessible making leaving to explore simple. We were just minutes away from the hub-bub of downtown or going the other way, playing in the Nat'l Park.

There were a couple minor mechanical issues with appliances. The dryer took a full 3 hours to dry a load of clothes. That was unexpected and a little frustrating to the moms in our group. However, we were notified before we arrived that the oven had gone out (the timing of something like that can not be helped). We very much appreciated Shawn letting us know that ahead of time so we could plan meals appropriately.

Did I already mention the views! Gorgeous views!!! And the light that streams in the windows...Truly, this place will take your breath away!

Shawn has been amazing to work with. We appreciate his quick responses to questions. There was no lacking in communication. This made everything about this rental transaction from start to finish very simple for us.

We would definitely - most definitely recommend this place to anyone!!!
