Stop by the commercial center located at the front entrance. Walk next door to Sonoran Spa Resort, where you can pamper yourself at 'La Spa' a full service facility offering massages, pedicures, manicures, skin and body treatments. For terrific food and ocean view dining visit 'Ramon's Restaurant' or any of the great Rocky Point Restaurants, less than 10 minutes away. The condo is graciously decorated and comes equipped with everything you need for an unforgettable vacation. Sonoran Sea is the perfect destination for a family vacation. Experience absolutely unobstructed ocean view and the most beautiful sunsets from your own private oceanfront balcony. Don't be deceived by other properties in Rocky Point that claim proximity to the ocean, only to find out later that you have to drive or walk for miles before you reach the beach. And even if you reach the beach, you may find a rocky beach. That is not the case with Sonoran Sea, which is located in 'Sandy Beach'. Why is it called Sandy Beach? Because it is! The area of Sandy Beach is the first major resort area in Rocky Point to include all underground utilities (gas, water and electricity). If you are familiar with Rocky Point, you know that it is very difficult to find a rental property with utilities, unless you stay at the usual 'chain' hotels. The units are fully air conditioned (central air) . We want you to spend more time on your pursuit of rest and relaxation. Want some fun with the kids? Ride the banana boats! Aside from the bedding smelling musty as if it hasn’t been dried all the way, and the refrigerator door not shutting unless you push it shut, this was a good place to stay.

The property is nice and clean. Nitpicking details: There was a burner on the stove that doesn't work. The knives were as dull as knives can be. The furniture on the patio is cheap plastic and one of the chairs collapses when you sit on it. Other than that we were very pleased with our stay.

Not what we expected

The check in process was awkward and we had to pay an additional cash fee that we were not informed about prior. The staff was rude and unwilling to break my 100 dollar bill to cover said fee. I had to make change with another guest. We were disappointed with this unit. The refrigerator and stove are in need of repair. The stove had only one burner that worked, which is not functional while cooking for a family. The bottom of the fridge was on the floor when we arrived. There were not many supplies to cook with or use. The dishwasher buttons are cracked & we were afraid to use it for fear of it breaking completely. The unit was dated and needed better cleaning. There are no curtains in the main room where my daughter slept in the pull out couch, with the sun shining in around 6am.

I had the worst experience of my life and trust me I have traveled everywhere. Owner Mel and his assistant are the worst host ever. This place is horrible for the price you will think is an amazing place but nope is no worth it. There was no cold water we had to shower with hot water for 4 nights imagine that. Plus the blankets and pillows were dirty and the place smell like musty. Can you believe that in a middle of a pandemic a place will be dirty with no cold water to even shower properly when you are paying almost $300 dollars per night and all you want to do is have a fun and relaxing vacation with your family. Is just unbelieve how can people take advantage. Expedia needs to make sure that they don't do business with this owners that post their properties through Vrbo if they don't know have good customer service skills. Anyhow never in my lifetime I will ever booked with this people.

We were pleasantly surprised because this was the first time we stayed at this resort. We will be coming back although on a lower level floor. The elevators are very inadequate for the amount of rooms.

We had a great time and enjoyed the property and the balcony view very much. It was peaceful and relaxing, just the way we like. We had one issue and it was minor, no TV and the toilet seat one of the hinges was broke. TV is not so important but I do like to watch in bed every night to go to sleep.

View was great , elevators worked half the time. Changos kept us up till 1am every night. On arrival one of 2 vases on patio was broken and when we went to grab broom to sweep up before parting, a stench was coming from stackable. The previous renters left wet towels in dryer. Overall we had a great stay, we never intended to spend time in room with no cable. We went for relaxation on the beach, which we did. And will do again next year.

Relaxing Rocky Point

The condo itself was great. Bed was very comfy, view was great, AC worked amazing as it was in the high 90s outside and beach was beautiful. Only negative was the elevator situation. Only two elevators for entire building and one elevator was out of service completely and the other elevator only seemed to work at times. So had to go up and down the 7 flights of stairs the majority of the time which wasn't horrible because we needed to burn off tacos and beers. With that said I still give this place 5 Stars....

Needs updating

Location of room is very convenient. Room could use a deep cleaning, a fresh coat of paint, and updated decor. The patio furniture consisted of 2 Adirondack chairs (not what is pictured). Those are not easy to get out of if you have hip and back issues.

We have been coming to Rocky Point since 1999. As many Americans, we, came, we saw, and we fell in love with it. We booked our first reservation when there were just a few properties available. Standing in Sandy Beach (that is the name of the beach - it's very sandy, thus its name), we looked at the horizon and imagined that one day, instead of all-terrain vehicles cruising by and and all the campers, the landscape would drastically change.

Since Arizona does not have a beach, Rocky Point is considered Arizona's Beach. We felt that by creating a bridge between the properties and our prospective clientele would be ideal. You belong to one of these two categories: 1. You have been here before or 2. You have not (really?). For those who have been here before, you are in for a big surprise every time you visit. The landscape continues to change with no end in sight. And for those who have never been here, we would like to take this opportunity to greet you from far away and hope you give us the opportunity to be the bridge to your next vacation in your home away from home. It is hard to imagine that in only four hours and a nice scenic drive you could be in a different country that offers so much beauty, warmth and friendship, as you have never experienced before.

'Do You Dream in Blue?'. There is something magical about the color blue. The ocean and the sky brings happiness, enlightenment and, more than anything, relaxation. We are here to help you every step of the way.

Why they chose this property

I grew up along the blue waters of the Caribbean. Rocky Point allowed a short 4-hour drive from Tucson and the beach is absolutely beautiful, not to mention, the town and its people. As I said above, we came, we saw, and we fell in love with the town and have been coming back ever since. We want to share our experience with you. More than anything, it was the proximity to the ocean. If our condo were closer to the ocean, you'd get wet. There is nothing between you and the beautiful blue waters of the Sea of Cortez.

What makes this property unique

There are no words to describe the sunsets in Rocky Point. A morning or sunset walk will bring back the peace and relaxation you crave. Our 1-bedroom is located high in the building (7th floor) and you can't get a better view of the ocean and the old port at night. The condo is 871 sq ft (734 sq ft living space + 137 sq ft terrace). Take a look at the pictures. There are pools and spas, swim up bar, on-side restaurant, tennis court, 24-hour security, and more...
