The Lodge at Suncadia

Bedrooms 1
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Renting this condo through VRBO, versus the resort, can save you on average $100 a night while giving you virtually the same amenities and experience. You still have the friendly staff at the front desk to check you in, take your bags and valet park your car. You still have the free resort transportation, concierge service, and onsite bar and restaurant. The Lodge pool and hot tub are available a short walk from our unit. The Lodge pool is open during the summer months and the hot tub is open year round.

When you rent from us, you know what you are getting: A unit with the easiest access to the elevators, restaurant, bar, coffee shop, pool and hot tub than any other unit in the building. While some units require a long walk from the elevators, ours is the first off the elevator. Our unit has one of the best views on the view side of the building. Located on the 2nd floor and with floor to ceiling windows on sliders leading to balconies from both the bedroom and the living room, you can see for miles and enjoy the river view, forest and mountains in the distance. Many units are either lower, preventing the distant view, or higher with more sky in the view.

This unit is furnished with the same original furnishings found in the rooms rented by the resort. You will find a few amenities not offered in the resort rooms, such as a DVD player, and a kitchen stocked with some staples.

Please be aware when you rent from us you do not have access to the Swim & Fitness Center. You do have access to the outdoor swimming pool (during summer months) and hot tub at the Lodge as well as all the other resort amenities.

Amazing and Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

This place was great! Fully stocked kitchen, including complementary coffee, sparkling clean and smelled great to this sensitive-nosed pregnant lady. The location was incredibly convenient, close to the elevator and stairwell, not far from the pool, and an amazing view! The bathroom was gorgeous and stocked with handy toiletry essentials, and there were some board games available for some bigger kids, though ours are still too little. The owner was incredibly quick at responding to my questions, parking was easy, and check in and check out was a breeze. We would love to go back next summer too!

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

I've been to suncadia lodge around 5 times. This is by far the best apartment I've stayed in. The views are beyond amazing, perfect for sitting and watching the sun go down every evening across the mountains. It was also really clean and well appointed with everything you need for cooking. Couldn't recommend this place more highly. I didn't need to contact the host, but they did send a text to check in when we arrived to say welcome. Great stay.

Suncadia is beautiful...the view amazing; however, this specific room is tired and in need of TLC

  • 1 of 5

Our family has vacationed at Suncadia for over six years, enjoying all four seasons. We've stayed in the Lodge, a Vacation Home, and at the Trailhead Condos. For each occasion, we rented directly from Suncadia. Each time, accommodations exceeded our expectations in comfort, cleanliness, view, and service. This was our first experience with VRBO. We have no negative comments about the experience or follow-up by the VRBO Association or the owners of the room we stayed in.

This review is specific to the room we rented. Historically, I do not write reviews; however, I would be remiss if I didn't write this one. The rental rate for this room at this time was reasonable and the view amazing! The room, as conveyed above, is tired and unclean. When we arrived, the floor had not been vacuumed (as evidenced by peanuts and crumbs on the carpet and in the kitchen), there were jelly stains on the front of the bar, fingerprints all over the refrigerator and freezer, sticky goo on the cabinets, and unsightly stains on the bed sheets. All of the furniture was broken down, uncomfortable and seemingly dirty. There was not an ample supply of towels or bathroom supplies for a family of three, staying three nights and four days so, we went to the local Safeway for soap and towels. Thankfully, the weather was warm so we spent the majority of our time outside; however, for the price our accommodations should have equally exceeded our experiences outside.

We love Suncadia and will visit again soon. Sadly; however, we will not stay in this unit. As provided above, my family and I remain hopeful that the owners of this unit will read this review and expend money and time to give their investment a facelift and some TLC.

Owner's Response: Kristi, We are very sorry and surprised to hear about your experience. In our nearly 9 years of renting through VRBO, we have never experienced a guest checking into our room with it not in superior condition. Our housekeeper puts out 5 sets of towels, which is more than what is provided by resort-rented rooms. We wish you would have notified us in advance or during your stay that you needed more towels. In terms of the furniture, you are correct, the furniture was in need of replacement. Our chairs and sofa were on order and are being delivered this week. This new furniture matches what is being placed in resort rooms this week as well.

Very nice place to stay

  • 4 of 5

Overall the Suncadia property is a great place to get away to for a few days. Even if you are not a golfer there is plenty to do. We spent most of our time exploring the Cle Elm river valley and the Suncadia grounds on foot and in the car. The suite was very nice with a great view looking west towards the river and Cascades. The furniture is, let's just say, well used showing wear in a few spots. If you are planning to do some of you're own cooking, bring a good fry pan. Those provided are past their useful life.
