We have lived next door for the last 41 years. Our neighbor of 31 years suddenly put her house up for sale without warning. She was seriously considering an offer from a developer who wanted to bulldoze and subdivide. My wife was on a sailboat in Raja Ampat, Indonesia and unable to contact. Hmm? How do I tell my wife I bought a house while she was gone?

Our neighbor was eager to sell quickly but the realtor gave me a week to contact my wife. Thankfully she sailed into Sorong and was able to receive an email. She agreed with our needed to save us, the neighborhood and this little sanctuary from developers.

We were able to reach an agreement, scramble to turn it into a vacation home rental. We aren’t in the business to make money we just want to preserve the quiet nature of our neighborhood sanctuary.

It’s been far more rewarding (not financially) than we ever expected. Since we have been travelers all of our lives we enjoy interacting with other travelers. Providing information and insight and hearing of other people’s travels.

Even though we live next door we give our guests privacy and only interact when asked. We encourage our guests to never hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns on any topic. We want to help our guests have the best stay experience possible.

You feel like you are at a remote mountain house and lake but you’re only 30 minutes from downtown Seattle.

Private dock, 65 feet of private shoreline. Gas grill and patio heater, deck furniture and a commanding view of the lake. It’s common to see eagles, osprey and heron. Occasionally deer, opossum, raccoons, otters and beaver come wandering though. If you are really lucky maybe a bobcat (not harmful). Adjacent to 18+ miles of natural forest hiking trails.
