Enjoy this newly renovated lakefront bungalow located in Port Douglas NY and close to Schuyler Island.

Locals of the Lake Champlain area, our family has enjoyed the lake for over 25 years! We finally decided to make our dream of a lake house a reality and are thrilled to be able to share it with friends & travelers near & far! We look forward to welcoming you to our home and are happy to share all of the fun adventures the Adirondacks have to offer! Please feel free to contact us at any time throughout your stay for fun ideas...there is SO MUCH to do within a very short distance!

This home includes modern features such as stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, USB outlet in the kitchen, coffee maker (A MUST HAVE...we know), WiFi throughout the house, a Google Chromecast capable of streaming Netflix, HBO, Sling, Hulu & much more! Hotel quality showers, a wet-bar with convenience refrigerator, (2) flat-screen TVs, comfy couches to enjoy cozy nights in, a stereo receiver equipped with an iPhone/Pad Dock allowing you to play your favorite variety of music.

Enjoy all that Lake Champlain has to offer by staying at this property!! This property is equipped with (2) kayaks, (1) paddle-boat, and other water-sport gear!

Enjoy paddling over to nearby 123 acre Schuyler Island and explore the beauty of this Vacant Island. We are a quick hop across the pond to Burlington, VT or a 15 minute drive up the interstate to Plattsburgh, NY! We are also conveniently located near breathtaking Saranac Lake and the famous Olympic town of Lake Placid, right next to Whiteface Mountain. Year-round activities such as boating, hiking, skiing & snowboarding keep the Adirondacks a great location for families during any season...although we do suggest you bundle up from October-March!

PLEASE NOTE: THE FERRY TO BURLINGTON, VT FROM PORT KENT, NY IS CLOSED DURING THE WINTER MONTHS (OCT-MAY). THERE IS STILL A YEAR-ROUND FERRY THAT RUNS FROM PLATTSBURGH, NY THAT WILL GET YOU TO BURLINGTON WITHIN 1-1 1/2 HOURS. Cute lakeshore getaway

We visited in early April to see the solar eclipse. The house was cozy, cute and comfortable, the kitchen was very well equipped, the views of the lake are lovely, and the eclipse was spectacular. The property is clearly optimal for summer use, and in early spring we couldn't take advantage of all of its amenities and advantages. Would love to come back sometime in warmer weather. A couple of things to be aware of: It's a long and steep set of stairs from the parking area to the house -- definitely not for anyone with mobility issues or difficulty carrying things. The road is very quiet, but there's an active train line just on the other side, so there were occasional loud train whistles at all hours.

Fall Getaway

Beautiful location, crashing waves to fall asleep to, beautiful sunrise and songbirds in the morning. The house warmed up quickly when the weather turned colder.

Lakefront Views

Beautiful views from secluded lakefront property, the house took full advantage with huge window sliding doors which was great for getting fresh air. There were a couple of stairs going down from the parking area to house and from house to beach, probably not ADA accessible so keep that in mind when booking. Families and weak swimmers should bring their own life vests as none were provided for the boats. Definitely bring groceries, closest shopping center is a 30 min drive away. Not sure if off season but the port kent ferry was not operating to burlington. Wine enthusiasts should visit vineyard nearby, it has beautiful views too.

Loved the property but access was not handicap friendly. All of us are in our 70’s and 2 of us had a hard time with the multitude of stairs. It would have been nice to know how many stairs there were before renting. Also water craft were not manageable.
