owner/property manager purchased this house in 1995
This property is next to 62 Windy Lane, which is also available for rental through VRBO. Its listing number is 163669. Both houses are well separated and have a great amount of privacy. they are both located on Porters Point, which is a quiet neighborhood with privacy. A boat mooring comes with the property. Access to the water is by a set of stairs leading to a large dock.
The views to the west are magnificent. The sunsets are amazing.
We, recently, stayed at this lovely home with a magnificent view while visiting UVM. The owner is very gracious and responsive and the house had every amenity. Our dog loved the yard and although it was November, the weather was very mild, so we were able to spend a bit of time outside. Colchester is an easy ride to Burlington and the house was close to a grocery store, restaurants, etc. We are looking forward to our next stay and hopefully, many more.
We had a fun week kayaking, biking and enjoying the spectacular sunsets and lake views from this clean, modern home. Lake water was crystal clear. Great community.
Rented this clean, well appointed house for a family fishing trip. We were very comfortable there and had all the amenities of home. The sunsets from the deck were amazing. The owner was wonderful to deal with. Only negatives were that there really isn't enough room on the property to maneuver vehicles with boats. Also, the water in the bay was so low that the dock was completely out of the water and therefore useless. My son was unable to utilize the moorings for his boat and had to pull it in and out of the water everyday at the marina. If you're planning a fishing trip, I recommend checking ahead to make sure the water level is high enough.
Enjoyed our stay here at Windy Lane. Home was accurately described in listing.Perhaps more comfortable living room seating should be considered. Property was clean and well maintained. Glad to meet the owner, very cordial. Great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Access to lake was very convenient. Have recommended to family and friends.
We spent close to a week at this property recently, and we really enjoyed ourselves. The house is very clean and has all the basic necessities you'll need to enjoy a getaway. The view is spectacular -- sunsets are amazing and we enjoyed many evenings sitting on the deck watching the sky change color. We kayaked and swam as much as the weather allowed (the water was quite warm enough even in late June), and the owners are very accommodating with providing the kayaks, canoe, and bikes to make outdoor activities really easy to enjoy. The house is only 20 minutes at most from downtown Burlington, so great restaurants and shopping are also close by, but the house is isolated enough that you really feel you have gotten away when you are there.
The owners are super easy to work with, and Howard, the property manager, was ready and waiting to let us in when we arrived.
Our only recommendation to future renters: bring your own bath towels. Those provided are not very absorbent beach towels, thought that was a truly minor issue overall. Otherwise, we have no complaints -- the beds were comfy, already made up, and ready for our use and the kitchen is fully outfitted. We'd strongly recommend renting this great house. We definitely want to rent it again ourselves.
The house is on Porter's Point in Lake Champlain. This is a very quiet and private area. The house faces west across the lake so the sunsets are spectacular! Swimming from the dock is very safe, as the maximum depth at normal water levels is about 4 feet. There is a boat mooring available. The house is a very short ride to the bike trail that goes south to Burlington or north to the Champlain islands. There are kayaks and canoes with the house and several bicycles. The house is fully equipped...all linens and towels, etc. are provided. There is a barbeque grill on the deck. The kitchen is fully stocked with all necessary utensils. The house has two full baths and three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds and one has twin beds. Cable TV, wifi internet and unlimited domestic long distance telephone are provided.
