If you've been looking for your annual summer retreat, you have stumbled upon the areas latest and finest offering. our meticulously maintained beach front home is large enough to accommodate a few families or host that micro beach-front wedding.

Our private beach provides a sand bottom and safe water depth taper for all ages. No need for water shoes here! The breathtaking view over Lake Michigan from our front yard will guarantee you a peaceful start and finish to every day of your vacation.

Our generous floor plan provides sleeping for approx 14 guests. It has one full and one half kitchen, two refrigerators, two full bathrooms, and a massive master suite. Attention to fine details has been paid to this home abundantly, from the fine woodwork to the marble floor, not to mention the stone fire place in the great room. Our home also offers 2 separate enclosed sun porches as well as a large outdoor deck area with patio furniture and gas grill. Our focus is to provide you with enough gathering space yet plenty of private space for your large group. We attend to the tiniest details of our home which include quality linens, carefully selected kitchenware, comfy beds, including a toddler bed for the little one, and a unique play space for the kids.

Upon entering our home, our hope is you will experience our love and passion for this property. We promise that always our best effort is put forth to provide you with the greatest accommodation for your group, with the most beautiful surroundings that Escanaba has to offer. Available for 31+ day rentals.

Our location puts us 5 miles from the heart of the city of Escanaba, 3 miles to the airport, 3 miles to Upper Hand Brewery, 20 miles to the Casino, 1 mile from the Ford River, and 1 mile from the Local store.

On site we have Kayak and SUP rentals available, please inquire about pricing. We can also assist in your search for a local fishing guide, or any other needs your require during your stay.

Fantastic stay

Great property, private beach and back yard for when kids wanted to play on grass. Beach was well equipped with chairs, tables, firepit, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. House was lovely with alot of thought put into everything. Would definately go back!

Our group, which included several families with children and adults, enjoyed our weeklong stay. The house was clean, and the outdoor space was very nice with plenty of room for family activities. The owner was helpful and accommodating whenever assistance was needed, which we appreciated.Of note - there was a slight musty odor in the carpeted areas, likely due to humidity, that was noticeable to those sensitive. In addition, while communicated in advance, the owner was present on the property at times — both inside and outside — for personal reasons, which felt a bit unusual.Overall, the property offers a comfortable stay with attractive outdoor areas. With a few improvements and clearer boundaries, it could be an even better rental experience

Great Stay

Very nice cabin on a beautiful beach. Swimming was fun and the city isn’t too far away. It is near the highway, but the house and trees do a great job of minimizing noise. We all enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again next year. Thank you.

Wonderful home base for a week in the UP

We loved our stay at Sandy Bottoms! Spacious, quiet, clean, and plenty of ways to unwind and relax right by the lake, and the kayaks and paddleboard on the property were fantastic for an early morning / evening ride on the water. Communication with the host was reliable and they were very responsive. Can’t wait to return to the UP again!

8 adults, 4 kids and we had a lovely time. Kayaks, paddleboards, lovely beach and shallow waters. Kitchen well set up and furnished. Beautiful large table for meals, even outside. Just a lovely time.

Family Vacation

Everything regarding the house was amazing. Beds were comfortable! House was clean! Loved the views! Only suggestion would be to clean up the beach area for outside fun (weeds and tree roots in sand). Bushes needed trimmed. I think that would help with the biting flies and mosquitoes.

Wonderful Week at the Lake for a Mini Family Reunion

We had a wonderful week on the lake! The house accomodated our family of 11 people with plenty of room for all. There were lots of great indoor and outdoor places to gather. The yard and landscaping were very inviting. Everyone from the 5 year old to the 65+ enjoyed time on the beach with kayaks, paddleboards, floatees, pool noodles, sand toys, chairs, fire ring, etc. The beach was clean and quiet--you can walk for miles along the shore--and the water was fairly calm and not too deep. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed many meals around the table. Everything we needed for a week was there; we only needed to purchase food and personal items. Town is about 10 minutes away. There are places to eat within a mile. Beds were comfortable. There were plenty of towels for both showers and for on the beach. The owners were very friendly and gave ideas about events. They also were very attentive and responsive to us. We could not have asked for a better week. We LOVED Sandy Bottoms! <3

Great beach, comfortable relaxing home

We were two families with teenaged to adult children who had a very enjoyable vacation in this relaxing, comfortable home. There are many places to chat, play a game, or read – throughout the house, sunroom, large deck, beach. The beach is great: soft sand, room to play, chairs. You can walk over a mile along the shore. The lake bottom is sandy and slopes gently, you can wade way out before it's over your head. The house is a spacious old charmer. On arrival it was very clean. We liked the large dining table (seats 8-10) and having plenty of dishes and silverware. The kitchen was the best-equipped of any we've ever rented, and we used the kitchenette which provides a second fridge, sink, and dishwasher. There are a variety of games and a selection of books, and the Wi-Fi was fast. The host was great, texted several times to ensure everything was fine, responded quickly to questions, gave us suggestions for enjoying the area. The house has some peculiarities ... the primary suite is huge, but the other main floor bedroom is a bit tight. Upstairs there is one half bathroom for up to 10 people, and while the two bedrooms are spacious, the three beds in the center room / loft have no privacy. Everyone found their beds to be comfortable. There are only two showers, one in the primary suite and one off the living room (we had 9 people, more adults might have been an issue). We had a super Lake Michigan beach vacation, and would come back to this wonderful house any time.
