Enjoy the peaceful beauty of the lake and wildlife at The Last Resort Kipling Cottages. The updated fishing cabins provide the comforts of home with some vintage charm. Fun for all ages. We have hosted many multi-generation family gatherings. Fun in the sun with family and friends playing in the lake and end your day gathered around a bonfire. Our guests treasure memories made with their loved ones.

Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Centrally located In the UP on Lake Michigan (Little Bay de Noc) in Gladstone MI.

Dock space for one boat (under 20 feet) and parking for 2 vehicles per cottage.

Great location for day trips. Your cottage is about an hour (or less) drive to: Manistique, Munising, Marquette, Menominee, Iron Mountain, Fayette, Kitch-iti-kipi, Pictured Rocks, AuTrain, Eben Ice Caves, Hiawatha National Forest, Island Resort & Casino, Peninsula Point Lighthouse, Gladstone Beach, Van Cleve Park, Escanaba Beach, Ludington Park. Numerous golf courses, disc golf courses, hiking and biking trails, breweries, wineries.

Little Bay De Noc is the Walleye fishing capital of the world. Many major fishing tournaments are hosted here. Walleye, Northern Pike, Salmon, Bass, Trout, Perch, and numerous other species.

Fishing charters are available locally or you can fish from your boat or our dock. Launch and dock your boat here. Kayaks, paddle boats, canoe and life jackets provided. We have a large assortment of life jackets.

Bait shops and public boat launch are only 1 - 1.3 miles away.

Clean, comfortable and fully furnished. Two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. All bedding and towels are provided. Just bring your food, drinks, and personal items. Call us if you have special needs, we will see what we can do.

There are steps into the cottage. Also, the kitchen and bathroom are small so not wheelchair accessible.

Available year round for fishing. Also kayaking, boating, swimming, ATVing, hiking, biking, skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing.

We are pet friendly. Dogs are welcome. We just ask that you clean up after them and don't leave your pets unattended as a courtesy to other guests. Sorry, cannot allow cats or rabbits due to owner's allergies.

Perfect Getaway Spot

This place is tucked away off the main road right on the Little Bay de Noc. We had everything we needed right down to firewood for the firepit. Stacy, the host is a sweetheart ❤ if we ever are in that area we would definitely stay again.

A nice long weekend

Stacy is a wonderful host and her communication was stellar. The deck, fire pit and view of the lake were all highlights of this nice extended weekend.

Great Hosts!

Property was as described! It was perfect for our family of four! Kipling Cottage is conveniently located an hour of Manistique and Munising! Check in and check out were a breeze! Thank you for the great mini vacation!

Great place in the middle of everywhere

Was a great little cabin in the middle of all the areas we wanted to visit. Access to the lake and all the local attractions and light houses. Check in was quick and easy and the property was well maintained! Stacey was on top of everything and great with communication. I would definitely stay here again next year!

Cute and quaint.

Took a long weekend and had an amazing time. The onsite kayaks were wonderful. Did more exploring than staying on site but it was a very comfortable place.

Relaxing Weekend Getaway

We had a great weekend getaway! Stacy made everything super quick and easy. This was our first time renting a place instead of using hotels. I have to say we will definitely being doing this again. The cottage was so cozy, we had a nice fire and played a few games that were in the cottage. We went to see the Mackinaw bridge, and some waterfalls around the area during the day. I couldn't have asked for anything else!

Great Host at Simple Pleasure

Stacy, our Host was very upfront about a change that had occurred to the property due to an unseen event of having a Septic put in. She was very good at communicating this to us. The property outside had been disrupted but had been finished as good as it could be. The cottage was extremely clean with everything we needed. Enjoyed our visit and really appreciated our host, Stacy!!! Giving her 5 STARS!!!!!

Nice lake view. Saw many different water fowl and deer. Kitchen was small but had all we needed. Overall a nice little cabin.

Very nice small cottage. The kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable and the tiny bathroom had everything needed. 2 nice areas to sit outside. There was a nice fire pit we cooked over and a grill. The view of the lake was beautiful.

Everything was excellent!!! I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a family vacation or like me on a work trip. Stayed 3 nights and would have loved to stay longer and not have to leave for work. Stacy was great to deal with. Bird watching paradise. Everything you need is there , just bring your food , and cook it on the charcoal, the gas grill or the oven. Had firewood there, kayaks, canoe and a couple paddle boats. Great stay!!

Perfect for our family get together

We had a great time and the 2 cozy cabins we stayed in were perfect for our weekend family gathering of 9 adults. Very Clean and well appointed. Really enjoyable property with beautiful Sunrise view over the water from the decks, water crafts provided, fire pit and fun family games. Easy to get to downtown Gladstone and escanaba. Stacy was very informative and helpful. Really easy to work With. We all want to go back again next year.

Carl & Stacy are the new owners of The Last Resort Kipling Cottages. We are both from Gladstone. We live in Escanaba. We have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. We fell in love with The Last Resort when we first saw it. We have renovated all three cottages and have plans to keep improving them as time allows. We are excited to be able to share our little cottages with guests traveling to the Upper Peninsula.

We love the beauty of the UP. If you have questions about the local area, let us know. We would be happy to help. We want to help make your vacation enjoyable with memories to last a lifetime.

When you arrive, we hope you feel the same "peaceful, easy feeling" we do.

Your interaction with us will be up to you. Door code will be provided so you can check in any time after 3pm on the day of your arrival. We live nearby, so we can assist you via phone, text or stop by in person. Just let us know what you need. Some items are not kept on site because of limited space. If you need a highchair or pack n play, let us know ahead of time so we can have it there for your arrival.

Our cottages have all been updated. We have clean, comfortable beds, couches and bedding so you can enjoy your stay. Each cottage has it's own Spectrum WIFI so you have a strong connection, not sharing with other cottages.
