Sitting high above Great Cruz Bay and the western Side of St John. Aptly named, Ard na Mara, "High above the Sea", is a brand new luxury home at the very top of Virgin Grand Estates.


This 4 bedroom home offers everything you need for the perfect vacation. This modern spin on an island traditional has rich mahogany and tropical woods, natural stone and other natural elements that are warm and inviting.


A breezy design brings the exterior in with large covered and open decks, giving guests multiple gathering areas for large groups.


A beautiful mahogany kitchen with state of the art stainless appliances, a seating bar opens into the great room with comfortable sofas and large flat screen TV. A communal dining table has room for everyone, and flows through multiple huge sliders out onto covered gallery and additional dining and seating, sits adjacent to the pool, accented by 2 whimsical sea turtle mosaics!


A lushly landscaped grassy yard sits between the pods and just behind the pool, and has a wonderful outdoor kitchen and grill, and lots of lounge and play space.


The house is laid out in 3 separate structures, connected via the pool and gallery so the bedrooms offer easy convenience but are private and quiet.


The master bedroom is located above the great room via interior stairs and is big and beautiful with a great en-suite bath and a large private deck... a perfect place to escape with a book or to just watch the stars before bed.


There are an additional 2 king bedroom suites that are also large and lovely with beautiful en-suite baths. The fourth bedroom is much more than that - actually a small apartment with its own kitchen, living space and queen bedroom and bath. This room is perfect for those wanting a little more independence, or is perfect for grandparents, teens or even nannies.


Every one of the rooms has views to the west and the spellbinding views of the Caribbean Sea, including those world famous sunsets!


Ard na Mara sits on a very large gently sloping double lot surrounded by beautiful gardens, and it's not unusual to find one of our Caribbean key deer grazing below. The location in the venerable Virgin Grand Estates is perfect, high and quiet in an upscale neighborhood with incredible views, yet a quick 5-7 minute drive to Cruz Bay and the beaches immediately beyond.

Paradise View

This was a perfect place to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our family. Each couple had their separate space and so did the kids. Perfect for all of us cooking together, eating together and just relaxing. All the furniture is comfortable and plentiful. The view is spectacular!

Perfect place in paradise!

We loved everything about this home. We vacationed with 2 families. This home is in a fantastic location with a short drive to the downtown in Cruz Bay and 2 grocery stores. It's also a short drive to the beaches. We enjoyed taking hikes around the neighborhood, taking in the glorious views, and spending time grilling and enjoying the pool. We also loved spending each morning and evening in the 4 comfortable rocking chairs on the front deck drinking our coffee or sipping tropical drinks. The home is well thought out and well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are several beach chairs, coolers, beach towels, well stocked kitchen, laundry, and wonderful shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. The home is very clean and well maintained. The bedrooms are spacious, full of light, and have very comfortable beds. There are 3 separate quarters in this home with the master bedroom upstairs in the main house, 2 bedrooms in another structure ( one with a full kitchen and bath), and a third bedroom in a third structure. The set up was perfect for 2 families vacationing together. We all had a lot of privacy, and could congregate together in the main part of the home during the day and for family meals. Everything about this home was perfect. The host communicated well and provided some treats for us upon arrival which was much appreciated after a long trip. Nidia met us at the ferry and brought us to the home and helped get us acquainted. She was so lovely! We would love to rent this home again! Thanks for a memorable and fantastic family vacation.
