About this property

The Filly - 6 miles to Churchill Downs - Pets - Highlands/Cherokee Triangle

The Filly is a one bedroom basement unit that has been fully renovated into a nice bright comfortable spacious living area. It has its own private entrance with keyless entry and no shared living spaces.

***Please note, the ceiling height in some areas are 72", so it may not be suitable for taller guests and floors are slightly uneven***

You will enter the unit from the back of the house, down 6 steps. As you enter, it features a fully equipped kitchen to the left with a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. A separate area off of the family room has a kitchen table for two.

The bedroom is spacious with a queen size bed, dresser, Smart TV, and closet.

The bathroom has a tiled shower, pedestal sink, and is stocked with towels and soap.

The Family Room has a sectional couch, small coffee table and a 49" Smart TV/Roku.

Free WIFI and two smart TV's, one in the bedroom and another in the family room so you have access to Netflix, Hulu, etc.

Full size washer and dryer in the basement area just outside of the bedroom door.

Parking: There is free first come first serve parking on the street in front of the house.

Came for a long weekend to attend my sister's wedding. Got to meet host and she was very kind and sweet natured. Neighborhood had much to offer and loved being in the Highland Knolls area. Would love to stay again in the future

The property was very clean and nice. There was more room in the space than it appears and was comfortable for two adults and a dog. Location is excellent and close to everything in a nice neighborhood. Only complaint was that the bed was not comfortable.

Cozy neighborhood apartment

I really enjoyed my stay in this cute abode. The bedroom and living room were comfortable and spacious, and the little kitchen had everything i needed. I was traveling with two little dogs, and Leenette provided two crates, and it was helpful that I didn't have to bring in my travel crates from the car. It is a nice neighborhood, and I'd definitely stay here again.

Easy peasy

Easy to find, comfortable stay (yes, if you’re above 5’10”, you will feel the need to duck a lot.) clean space, on street parking, very active community. Everyone walking/ walking dogs. We only stayed to sleep and shower, but it fit our needs.

A great stay with just a few glitches

Great location, clean and well stocked especially for our fury family members. The only issue was upon arrival the entrance door knob was broken and in reaching out to the owner her response was she had just ordered dinner and would come after. Unfortunately that meant we had to drive around and wait not knowing the area. We waited to hear back from her and finally called again to find out all was fixed; better communication would have been helpful. Once that was resolved it was smooth sailing and very accommodating. Definitely would stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Great Accommodations in a Cozy Apartment

My husband and I made a trip to Louisville so that I could enjoy the Mini Marathon. We booked with Leenette well in advance of the weekend. Here communications with me, from the beginning, were prompt and very helpful. The confirmation email which provided not only the instructions for accessing the apartment, but the directions to the home were great! The apartment was cozy, with the necessities needed to make it a pleasant stay. The check-in process was very easy and the apartment was ready well ahead of our arrival. The location was ideal as it was close to Bardstown Road and easily-accessible to the areas where we needed to be for various activities. We would recommend this property as the hostess made it a very pleasant and inviting stay. and will definitely look to her for future trips to Louisville. Thanks for a great home away from home! Hello, I am a Louisville KY native working full time that purchased the The Filly to renovate to host guests such as yourself. It has been a labor of love getting it ready and I am so excited to share it with you. My first love is running, so having Cherokee park just 2 blocks away is the perfect place for me. I also compete in body building competitions and love to do country western, swing and line dancing. I love to eat, and the The Filly is walking distance to some of the best food around with lots of options and prices to choose. I have a small boat that is the best money I have ever spent, and a beagle that is my baby, so bring your running shoes, appetite, boots and pups when you come to visit :)

I chose this property for the location. Located in the Highlands, known as the commercial corridor and the cultural center of the city, yet nestled in a traditional neighborhood that is the most sought out area in Louisville.

My husband and I stayed at Leenette’s place for our anniversary, and we could not have picked a better place. The apartment was so cute and cozy, and it was less than a 10 minute walk to the main strip of the Highlands which has tons of great bars, restaurants, and shops. We spent lots of time exploring the incredible neighborhoods! Leenette made us feel so welcome. Check in and check out were a breeze, and the apartment had everything we could have needed for the weekend. We can not wait to come back for our next stay!

The space is stylish and cozy. My top concern when staying at an air bnb or hotel is cleanliness and Leenettes place didn’t disappoint. The apartment is in a beautiful neighborhood and is a short ride to many of Louisvilles attractions. Check In was quick and easy. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat the next time I visit Louisville.

This was the perfect dog friendly location. Everything in the apartment was exactly as described, and it was sparkling clean. The neighborhood was awesome, old houses, parks and great restaurants and shops were within walking distance. Leenette was a great host - she welcomed us as soon as we arrived. The space was beautiful and she has done an amazing job with utilizing the space. We would love to stay here again and would recommend it to anybody visiting Louisville!
