House, 4 Bedrooms, 5 full Baths plus outdoor shower, Beautiful Courtyard
About Susan Amsler
We are a family of four from Atlanta. We purchased a lot in Rosemary Beach in 1998 so that our two boys would have a place to play in the sugar white sand. The two boys are now grown ups but still love playing in the sand. We worked with an architect to design a house that would be both beautiful as well as practical. Having lots of porches, ensuite baths for every bedroom and a bedroom on the first floor for older people were all intended to make the space usable for multi- age families. I am an interior designer and really enjoyed the process of decorating this home.

Why Susan Amsler chose Rosemary Beach
We had rented in Seaside, (too crowded), Sandestin,(too cheesy) and Sea Grove, ( too boring). We purchased a lot so early , ( 1998), that we were able to buy directly on a pedestrian boardwalk, very close to the gulf and the town center. Rosemary was founded in 1995 so we were in the right place at the right time , for once!
What makes this House unique
Taking naps on the swing bed, watching people stroll up and down the boardwalk, enjoying the gulf view off the second story porch, getting ice cream at the very nearby sugar shak. We also employ a local concierge/maintenance service that can provide our guests with anything they might need or want. The benefits of dealing with an actual owner combined with an onsite 24 hour maintenance and housekeeping service is the best of both worlds! This is a very unique arrangement and our guests love it!!

Family Spring Break trip 2020
Whenever we rent a property with lots of pictures and descriptions, I tell my wife and family that the photos generally make the property look larger and more glamorous. I can honestly say that the descriptions of the Amsler Cottage on the VRBO site did not do it justice. Our family of 5 (plus as additional friend for fun for a total of 6) spent 7 nights in Rosemary Beach at the cottage. The location was amazing as it was a short walk to the beach in entrance F which is in the center of the Rosemary beach entrances and not crazy busy as some of the other entrances tend to be. In addition to this, the cottage is also a quick 2 block walk to the square enabling our 11,13 and 15 year olds felt empowered (and safe) to walk to the "Sugar Shack" for nightly Ice Cream and treats by themselves. As for the property itself, the bedrooms were very large with separate bathrooms for each room plus an additional full bath on the first floor. We leveraged both the second floor balconies/porches which were comfortable and provided space when we needed some family separation. The porch off the master bedroom even provides a nice view of the ocean which made a nice morning tea/coffee spot for my wife and I. We used the outside grill two times with fresh seafood from the "Ice Market" and used both indoor and outdoor tables. We used the 4 provided bikes for trips to Alys, Seacrest and Inlet Beach for dinning and we jogged every day along the 30A sidewalks. Our family watched every sunset from the beach (mom and dad with a cocktail in one of the many plastic glasses) as it was only a 2 minute walk from Amsler Cottage.
Lastly, with the ever changing scenarios with the COVID 19 virus developing on our trip (this was before the Florida coasts were evacuated), Susan did an amazing job of checking in and keeping us aware of the developments both at Rosemary and Walton County. One more note, if you have never stayed at Rosemary Beach, it is a very large area that expands on both sides of 30A. While the quality of homes and amenities are plentiful wherever you stay (pools etc) , there is not doubt you have to plan ahead to have ample beach time the farther away from 30A you are. The Amsler Cottage is perfect for families that want to maximize beach time while on 30A while also enjoying the variety of restaurants and nightlife available to all who travel to Rosemary. We will definitely stay again in the future and grateful for the family time we had.
Best of 30a
My family and I have been traveling twice yearly to 30-a since 2010. By far, this house was our favorite location and hostess. The property is convenient to all that Rosemary has to offer combined with modern conveniences. The house is immaculate and well appointed, walkable to all that Romsemary has to offer. The owner is kind, welcoming and responsive. We stayed at the property for a week and left an jpad behind by accident. Owner went out of her way to return iPad to us. We will return again and again. If you are looking for a place to stay on 30-A look no further. Amsler cottage is your one-stop shop. A serene escape jn a chaotic world.
Thank you for the Review!
We look forward to welcoming you back “again and again”. We always try to go the extra step to insure a 5 star experience and to keep the same families coming back every year until they feel like our family!!
Perfect family getaway
Great location for families.
Such a treat
Everything about this home and vacation was perfect. Location, location, location. Beach and town both a minute or two walk away. The house is full of all the creature comforts you’ll need. It’s so easy to relax here and I can’t say enough good things about it. Susan is an excellent host... very responsive and nice. Highly, highly recommend her home.
So glad you enjoyed your stay! You were absolutely wonderful guests and we sincerely hope you will come back again soon.
Perfect house for our vacation!
Amsler Cottage is a fantastic beach house in a great location - a very short walk to the beach, which allowed us to go back and forth throughout the day, and the house is also located very near to all the restaurants and shops along Main Street. The home itself was also perfect for our family trip, with a good floorplan and open living and dining spaces downstairs. Our kids loved the bunk room and the bedrooms were well appointed for all guests, each with a TV and en suite bathroom. Our young kids also loved being able to play on the front porch and along the front boardwalk under the shade trees without the worry of any car traffic. We have stayed at many houses on both sides of 30A during our trips to Rosemary Beach over the years, and getting a house this close to the beach and to town is definitely the way to go!
Susan was also a wonderful host, checking in periodically to be sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. We'll be back for sure!
