Interesting . . . we too smelled ammonia when we entered the house after Kathy's group left. We've never had cats (or pets) in this house so we were quite concerned and wondered why they never mentioned this smell during their visit. Turns out, there is an over-flow drain in the front closet for the instant hot water heater. We poured a little hot water and bleach down the drain (which, to our knowledge, has never been used) and the smell went away. Thank Goodness.

We are so sorry to have missed meeting you - fellow WI friends!! We are thrilled that the wedding was beautiful and not affected by the Storm. And, we appreciate the communication. It was great that you checked in about the storm effects and we are grateful you were there! Please come back!!

I cannot believe how completely awful this person truly is - and clearly unappreciative of my generosity to allow them to remain in our home. First, she would not complete the lease form that is clearly required - as per my VRBO account and per my short term rental license in my county. I should have cancelled the rental then but instead asked that she bring the paperwork with her. She did not. THEN, she arrived with a DOG. We do not allow pets. That is also clear on our VRBO site. WHO DOES THAT?? I am traveling and was not on site or I would have asked her to leave at that point. My on site concierge called me because she was upset about the dog running loose on the property and in the house and disturbing our cats. I finally got hold of Michelle's husband to inquire about the dog - the one and only time I spoke with either of them in person. I was not verbally abusive but asked that they keep the dog on a leash, in a crate in the house if possible and to please pick up its poop and respect our home. He was calm and respectful while she literally screamed at me from the background and told me she would pray for me - very crazy! Again, I was out of town and should have asked her to leave at that point for breaking all of our rules but, because her husband was so nice and it was a family vacation (and I was not present) I allowed them to remain with the dog. It was nice of me to do however, I clearly should have terminated the rental. I never met these people and hope to never meet them or any other rude awful entitled people. They would never be welcome back to any of our properties.

Thank you! We love sharing this magical place with families like yours!! We look forward to seeing you back as the world (hopefully) unwinds and finds balance. We intend to keep Tilghman Island and Tilghman Landing a safe place for everyone. Good luck with the upcoming school year - for you and your mature, fun and special children.
