Charming Log Home on acreage bordering golf course with full gym

Log Home built almost 100 years ago, on 25 acres on the outskirts of town but only 5 minutes from major shopping and 2 minutes from the golf course and borders the Log Train Trail. The home is charming and has been well maintained but not a boutique show home or city home. Me and my family and some farm hands live on the property as well, so its private but only partially private, but still very quiet. There is unlimited parking for RV's, cars etc. The house has a fireplace and wood supplied if needed. This house is loved by 19/20 of our guests and hated by the 20th. Just trying to avoid that 20th guest as this house is what it is. The kitchen is the original kitchen from 100 years ago. The surrounding yard used to be a famous garden that was open to the public, but we have struggled to maintain it as of late. There is also a full exercise gym near the house which is just being completed. Cardio floor being added soon.
This gym however is not private as me and my wife use it as well.

A wonderful family home with genuine character and quirky charm. We had to take a little care with our three young children as they explored the nooks and crannies. A great location out on the edge of town and convenient for both west and east coast days out

Beautiful, quiet stop for my dog and me on the way to Tofino. The deck outside is awesome, and the wood stove inside had everything needed to get a cozy fire going on a cool May evening—really nice hosts.

amazing large home - 3 bed, 2 bath, large living room/full kitchen. excellent safe surroundings for dog walking. Incredible wildflower gardens. Nearby to town and other attractions on Vancouver Island.

The host was very accommodating and communicative during our stay. The place it self was well taken care of. It was really clean. There was plenty of space for everyone including for our dog. It was also well stocked with kitchen items and even had a bbq. Over all we enjoyed our stay and appreciated this quiet get away.

This is definitely an older place but the pictures are accurate. It was comfortable and exactly what we needed for our family who brought a dog. The property is quiet and tucked away from the city but also close enough to everything else in Port Alberni. The host was friendly and easy to deal with. Although I did not meet him, my family did and had a lovely chat. Would choose to stay here again.

My husband and I with our two grandchildren spent 5 thoroughly enjoyable nights in this cabin. The pictures are accurate. It is an old, rustic cabin with amazing wooden ceilings, but with the modernities we needed...a very well-equipped and functional kitchen, very good water pressure, and plenty of light. The cabin is generously appointed and our hosts were prompt to answer any requests or questions, but never intrusive. The area is very quiet, but not far from the shops of Port Alberni, and an early morning coffee on the swing on the deck is a treat to be enjoyed daily. As long as you do not need fancy trappings, this cabin will delight you with its old world charm, its functionality, and its peaceful surroundings.

Loved the cabin. A great combination of functional modern upgrades (good water pressure, good water wifi connection, working heating and big tvs etc) and lots of old world character. Especially liked the wood fireplace and covered back porch. A peaceful space close to the main road and services/restaurants. We’ll be back

The host responded to all of my messages. The cabin was decorated in authentic, beautiful antique furniture. The beds were extra comfortable, and when we arrived, there was a roaring fire. It was so beautiful. there was even an owl hooting outside to welcome us.

We spent 2 nights here with our 3 teenagers. While the the cottage is older it has a quaint old timey feel to it, there is definitely history to it! It's not for anyone expecting luxury but it's spacious and having 3 bathrooms is a real plus. The beds all hays feather toppers so they were super comfy especially after long day trips. Location was perfect for a day trip Tofino and then another to Victoria and right down the road from EV chargers for anyone using an EV. Dene was very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a functional comfy spot to stop on a road trip on Vancouver Island!

Communication with the host was great. We only stayed one night but wish that we were there longer. Ferry reservations dictated the short stay. There’s something quite special about staying in a log house with a roaring fire. What really appealed was the history of the house, including the pictures of the family over the many years. It was super clean and there was so much space. Feels off the beaten path but only a few minutes from the main road.

This looked like the original home of the people who pioneered on the property back in the day, so it had loads of rustic charm. It reminded me of my grandmother's house. There were several pieces of lovely period furniture, but the bathrooms had been modernized with up-to-date shower and toilets. The beds were comfy, and there were fans and air conditioners running when we arrived. The host was super quick to respond to questions, and the property manager came right away when we needed something. They had the best-stocked pantry we have ever seen in places like these (taco shells, rice, oats, sugar, flour, microwave popcorn, soup, etc.). They allowed us to eat apples from the apple tree outside, too. We did not use the gym, but we played bocce ball on the lawn. In sum, the place was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay very much!
