Sun, Sand & Coastal Comfort


“A Wave from It All” is a cozy, relaxing coastal retreat tucked away on a quiet street on the west side of Oak Island—just a 15-minute walk (½ mile) to the beach. Designed with comfort and family time in mind, this charming home is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy island life.

This kid-friendly home includes a high chair and portable crib for your convenience. (Parents of young children are kindly asked to childproof the home upon arrival based on their child’s needs.)

The home features three comfortable bedrooms, including a king-size bed in the primary suite and queen beds in both the second and third bedrooms, sleeping up to six guests comfortably. We provide all linens and towels, and upon arrival your beds will be made with premium bedding, so you can start relaxing right away.

You’ll find two full bathrooms, along with a private outdoor shower—perfect after a day at the beach. The fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, including a dual coffee maker that accommodates both K-cups and full pots.

The family room is set up for connection and relaxation, featuring a 55” Smart TV, DVD player with 30+ movies, board games, and books—something for everyone to enjoy.

Outside, there are several inviting spaces to relax:
• A front porch with rocking chairs
• A screened-in back porch with comfortable seating and soft lighting
• A solid wood porch swing in the backyard

Fire up the gas grill on the back deck (utensils provided), and take advantage of the guest storage closet, stocked with beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, fishing poles, and coolers. We also provide three adult bikes, making it easy and fun to explore the island.

Parking is easy with a private driveway, plus additional space for a boat trailer or golf cart. Several local companies offer golf cart rentals with delivery directly to the home.

Whether you’re a family of six, a couple seeking a peaceful getaway, or visiting to fish, golf, shop, or simply relax, A Wave from It All offers comfort, convenience, and the perfect setting for your Oak Island escape. We would love to host you and your family!

Great Stay!

We have enjoyed this house now for a second time! It is inviting, comfortable and spacious! It is well supplied for indoor and outdoor activities! Perfect rental for a relaxing get away!!!!

Kevin and Mandy have done a fantastic job getting this home ready for vacation renters!!! If you are looking for a place to stay in OKI this is the home you want to rent. It is equipped with all the things you need for a new family with young children or an older family with adults. In addition there is a spot for a boat with water and power hookup!!! The neighbors are very friendly and walks/bike rides are very relaxing. I highly recommend this property for rental!

OKI Getaway

We love OKI and have been coming for many years. First time renting this house and will definitely be back. Great communication from owners and an exceptionally clean and comfortable place to stay!! Very nicely decorated! We love the screened in porch for Happy Hour! A few minor issues that I let Mandy know about but nothing that detracts from a wonderful stay. Home away from home

My husband, my 2 year old , my sister and her 2 kids and I had an amazing time staying at this lovely home. We fell in love as soon as we walked in. So much thought was put into this home to make it feel welcoming, cozy and truly a home away from home. We were able to walk to the beach or even down the block to the small river /boat pier , neighbors were friendly, beach wasn't crowded so perfect location. Most of all , the hosts were amazing and had great communication. This was our first time using vrbo and they made us feel comfortable. We would highly recommend this place 👌

Perfect In Every Way

Beach House was the best location that we have rented ever on VRBO. Mandy and Kevin have done an amazing job to provide everything you need for a great stay. Bikes and beach chairs were great to have available to reduce what we had to bring. My wife loved the outdoor shower and proximity to the beach and attractions was perfect. Mandy and Kevin were very helpful for anything we needed and had a plan in place when we locked ourselves out. (Kids did not listen to owners instructions so it was our fault) OKI is very family friendly and there are tons of shells and possibly of seeing turtles hatching is very high. Southport had lots of shops and interesting things to do and see. Thanks Mandy and Kevin for allowing us to stay at your wonderful home and if we come back to OKI we know where to stay.

Simply lovely

The owners were very responsive to our questions and provided all information to help us prepare for our arrival. The home was well appointed with all that one would need to have a comfortable stay. Very clean, fresh, and beautifully decorated. The pictures online actually do not show its true beauty. Convenient location and quiet neighborhood. Perfect for a relaxing beach get away. If you want the best stocked house look no further.

This house is amazing and well stocked. My family had the best time at this property. The house is beautiful and the rooms are well supplied with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. The screened in porch is a nice place to sit anytime of the day or night. The owners were gracious and quick to respond to any questions we had during our trip. Do yourself a favor and book this house!

Beautiful home

Tranquil Harbour was perfect for our family. The owners have done a great job of providing all the nice touches to make this a wonderful retreat. The bikes were great to ride around the neighborhood. My only suggestion would be that if you have young children, rent a golf cart in advance, if you wait until you arrive, chances are that they will all be rented. The house is a few blocks to the beach. Not a difficult walk. There is a convenience store just a few blocks away.

Lovely home!

We really loved this house! It was so comfortable, cozy, clean, & well-stocked and made the perfect place for our family of 6 for the week. Ours kids are 5,7,8,10. They enjoyed playing corn hole & bocce ball in the back yard and we used the beach chairs and boogie boards which was so nice to have available to us! It’s so helpful to have an outdoor shower to (try) and get the sand off after the beach! We liked that it was a nice quiet street but not too far from things. Great communication with owners and it exceeded our expectations! Thank you!!

Great place to stay!

The house was more than perfect for our week-long vacation for our family of four! Each room is beautifully decorated and the owners did a great job of providing items for our stay - some small toiletries, laundry detergent, beach toys, and games/dvds - just to name a few. My favorite spot of the house was the screened in back patio. It was great to sit out there in the evening (after the kids went to bed) and relax with a book and glass of wine. Our young ones enjoyed the large backyard and the primary bedroom's bathtub (large enough to play with all their toys!) Having a fully stocked kitchen and laundry room makes all the difference. We were able to cook many meals and do a few loads of laundry before returning home. The house is in a great location as well. The walk to the beach is pretty easy, about .5 mile. There is also availability for parking in the public lots, we had no issues finding parking when we went to the beach mid-morning. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores are also nearby. The owners are very communicative and responsive. They answered our questions quickly and thoroughly. This was our first visit to Oak Island and we hope to visit again and stay in the house again!

We chose to open our home to guests in the hope that others can experience the same joy, comfort, and tranquility that Oak Island has given to our family.

Why they chose this property

This cozy cottage, tucked away on a quiet street between the Intracoastal Waterway and the beach, truly fulfills our desire to get away from it all. As we both work in high-pressure careers, we were drawn to the sense of calm and balance this home provides. From the moment we arrived, we felt a peace here that is hard to find elsewhere—and that feeling is exactly what made this property so special to us.

What makes this property unique

From the amazing sunsets at the point, to the fishing from piers, Oak island and it’s non -commercial atmosphere provide inner peace and make family vacations memorable. Numerous mom/pop restaurants , Monday’s farmers market , low-key shopping , and boiled peanuts can’t be beat !
