This year-round retreat combines rustic charm with modern comfort and is ideally located near Canaan Valley State Park, Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods, and scenic wilderness trailheads.

Inside, enjoy a fully equipped galley kitchen, inviting rustic furniture, and a wood fireplace—perfect for cozy evenings. Step onto the deck with hot tub to unwind with stunning ski mountain views or enjoy meals at the deck picnic table. Mounted hair dryers and thoughtful amenities make last-minute adventures easy.

Sleeping up to 8 guests, the cabin features:
2 Primary bedrooms (Queens)
1 bunk bedroom (2 Twins + 1 Twin Bunk)

Pets welcome for a fee. Four-wheel drive is not required during winter months.

Cozy cabin just like home

We stayed at this great cabin over the Thanksgiving weekend. Well stocked kitchen and a lot of space for all. Enjoyed the hot tube and the location.

Great location!

This house was conveniently located near the Timberline Lodge. This made drop-off and pick-up of skiers and all of their gear super convenient.

Great House Great Location

The location of this house is perfect (if you are skiing or snowboarding). The clincher for us was that the property allowed pets. We plan on returning.

Winter weekend

The location is amazing. Right at the base of timberline resort, less than 10 min to Canaan and 15 min to Blackwater Falls. The kitchen/bathrooms are very dated but it was clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen and served us well for a 3 day weekend.

Close to timberline

Great property a short walk from Tline. Property itself had some small issues however, (broken shower upstairs, some heaters not coming on, broken drawers, etc..) overall we really enjoyed our stay, hot tub was warm and clean.

Post exam escape

A bunch of friends from med school needed to recharge after a round of exams. This was a great weekend getaway. Being within walking distance to the ski lift was very convenient and the kitchen had everyrhing we needed to cook. The fireplace was also great for making the place warm and cozy. We also had a great time relaxing in the jacuzzi. Overall this was a great time.

Awesome ski chalet

We were pleasantly surprised by this lovely house. It’s an older house but the furniture is newer and the layout works well. Loved the baseboard heating—tons of hooks for coats to dry above the heaters. A few more games/puzzles would be nice. Plenty of space for our family of 4–we didn’t use one of the bedrooms.

Company ski trip

The layout and décor in s little dated. If you are going to only have one bathroom on the second floor it should be accessible to both bedrooms. We observed some structural problems , but that's what we do. The location is great and the price was good. Only one roll of tp in each bathroom, but we were warned.

Nice house, very close to timberline

Its a nice clean house in good location. Only complaint is that communication with Canaan Realty is strictly 9-5 and it would be nice if they were a little more generous with providing toilet paper, trash bags etc. In the middle of a pandemic, no one wants to go to the grocery store for that stuff.

Family fun!

The cabin was nice, needs a few updates but love the layout. The only thing I can said the was disappointing was that it was not as clean as it should have been. The carpeted stair were not swept and the bathroom floors had hair on them. I would rent here again. Shuffle board and hot tub were a hit!! We stayed at MS106. The picture above was not our rental.

Red door Timberline

The house was as advertised.. found dryer full of wet towels that had 2 b rewashed, no fabric softener sheets, no dishwasher detergent .. these were all things we hadn’t found in any property over the last 30 (??) years.. the house was great location to ski both Timberline & Cannan Valley.

Unhappy

The pet fee was not listed until after booking. I tried to get out of booking and they would not let me. Check in is several minutes from the property. My sheets had hair on them and my daughter's room had trash in it. The AC did not work. The "lake" is basically a pond. Overall very displeased with accommodations for the price it was.

Red Door Roost - Timberline Area

This property is very dated with screens/windows/doors, the deck, etc. in very poor condition. While “clean”, creature comforts were at a bare minimum (no paper goods, foil, trash bags, extra detergent, paper towels, basic spices, etc. were in the kitchen) and the ROKU wasn’t properly connected to the main tv. No box fans were provided (except for one that was broken) and it was very warm inside. Few windows could be opened because of the holes in the screens or ones that were missing altogether. The property’s carpet needs replaced (dated with lots of burn marks) and a musty/mold smell was apparent throughout the unit. It’s in a wonderful location and we made it work for our short stay, but I would not rent to again.
