Our stay could not have been better! We had a family get together and the property was the perfect place for it! The house has the coolest vibe to it, you can tell the homeowners really put a lot of thought into it. They were also so accommodating and responsive the entire time. The outdoor area, the spacious rooms, the sauna, the woodburning heater, all so amazing! Absolutely would stay here again… and again… and again!
Great modern house with everything you would need. We just came back from a winter snow trip here and the location is great! Looking forward to staying here in the summer time. Anne (Host) was great with regards to answering all of our questions.
This house is *the* place for spending time with people you love. You'll enjoy the shared spaces, the open kitchen, the nooks for finding space on your own, and just the general vibe of this gorgeous and well-designed home.
We had a wonderful stay with one family in the bottom floor rooms and our family (with two infants) in the top floor. The kitchen was perfectly equipped for cooking family meals and the homeowners lake was easily accessible for the kids to play. Thank you Anne for sharing your gorgeous home with us!
This our third stay in this beautiful mountain retreat. Our extended family loved the welcoming spaces to celebrate special milestones. Anne is an excellent and responsive host, making sure everything is working well. We’ll be back!

Wonderful winter vacation
We had a lovely stay at Lodgepole Pine House! The house was spacious and had nice views of the beautiful snow outside. The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed. Anne was lovely to work with and responded promptly to any questions I had. We hope to make another trip back!
This is an amazing find! So amazingly designed and aesthetically beautiful, it also invites the natural surroundings in decor and in the natural history library we so enjoyed. The host was so helpful and accommodating, and the kitchen definitely well stocked. We loved every second enjoying the High Sierras from this wonderful home.

Fantastic vacation home!
One of the nicest properties I’ve rented and I’ve been renting for decades. This home is beautifully and thoughtfully designed with excellent light and floorplan. The kitchen was as well stocked as my own and I am a devoted home chef. Being able to use bikes and kayaks was such a bonus so we could truly take advantage of Serene Lakes. Looking forward to a winter getaway here some day soon.

Great property! We stayed over 2023 New Year's Eve and had a wonderful time. Tahoe had challenging weather during our stay 12/29/22-1/2/23, we had pouring rain and a blizzard, and we were snowed in, etc. But because the house had a sauna, we really didn't miss out on anything! The house has a beautiful view and a big kitchen with everything you may need. Nicely sized bedrooms and modern bathrooms. Heated floors were a nice feature! Overall we had a wonderful time, thank you!
In some ways I hate to write this review because right now I feel like Anne’s house is a well-kept secret! But I absolutely also want to share how much we loved her house and what an amazing time we had. Anne has incredible taste and a great asthetic, and everything in the house just flows together beautifully. While a lot of the touches are high end and classy, it’s also extremely practical and liveable. We stayed between Christmas and NYE and extra precautions were taken due to COVID. The house was spotless when we arrived and there was extra hand sanitizer and wipes on hand. Anne also generously supplies nice soaps, shampoos and conditioners as well as hair dryers in every bathroom. The beds were all very comfortable and everyone slept well and was happy! We had 6 teens and 3 adults and the kids all stayed on the bottom level which had 2 bedrooms, and extra futons and blankets were on hand. The main level includes the kitchen, dining area and living room, also a library nook and a full bathroom. I liked that there was no TV in the living room - it just made it easier to play games and chat with the kids. The top floor has two bedrooms, full bath and also a loft area that could sleep a few more people. We didn’t have anyone sleeping in the loft and instead used it to hang out when someone wanted to watch TV or do some work. House is very close to Sugarbowl as well as tubing. Kitchen isn’t huge but doesn’t need to be - it has everything you could need to whip up gourmet meals! Plus an orange Viking stove, who knew?!
Thank you, Anne, for your amazing house and wonderful hospitality. We will be back!

The property was amazing --- my family loved the open spaces in the kitchen and living room to play games, cook and congregate --- the amenities were very family friendly --- we are hoping to return next year when the weather is a bit warmer --- I really appreciated the prompt communication with the Anne, the owner.
Outstanding in every capacity. We have stayed in a variety of properties in Serene Lakes and this one takes the cake. Clean, great layout, well stocked kitchen, backs up to the forest and exceptional communication from Anne. Highly recommend!!
This is a keeper, by far one of the best rentals we've ever found!! The house is spectacular, clearly built with an architect's eye, both aesthetically and functionally. Everywhere you look, there are smart touches. Light streams through and the floorplan is designed for easy shared space, but also leaves lots of room to be on your own. Unlike many other houses in this Serene Lakes residential development, Lodgepole Pine House is situated with the beautiful decks facing the trees as far as you can see. As other reviews point out, the kitchen is well-equipped (sharp knives! great pans!) and well-stocked. Anne is truly an excellent host–the best kind of host who replies quickly and generously fields any questions. What a fabulous stay, can't wait to return!
Lovely comfortable house with a well-stocked kitchen and fast, reliable internet - a necessity for those with work obligations. We enjoyed the large open floor plan downstairs, perfect for hanging out with family. Tons of options for skiing, snow-shoeing, hiking, or just taking the baby for a stroll.
We adored our stay! Waking up to a hike out the back door, or a walk to the lake, peering at the stars from the top deck, cooking perfect meals from the well-stocked kitchen— I could go on! This house made everyone, from age 7 to age 72, happy. The camp-themed dishware made us smile every time we used it. So many sweet details have been considered. We have two more stays booked and can’t wait to return.
Mountain bike from the backyard, swim in the nearby lake, sit on the deck and enjoy morning coffee or afternoon cocktail---Anne's house is the perfect place for a family getaway.
Our family of 12 thoroughly enjoyed our winter wonderland stay! This is a great neighborhood just before you hit Truckee and Tahoe where there are several ski resorts within easy driving distance. We loved having the woods behind us. It was quiet and felt spacious. The home itself felt European-chic with plenty of amenities. It was sparkling clean with a floor plan that worked well for our family units. We hope to come back in the summer to check out all the fun summer amenities the home and neighborhood offer as well!
Lodgepole Pine House worked great for our extended family reunion. Comfortable and open living space with everything we needed and more! Anne (owner) was very responsive and helpful to questions while we were there. The Serene Lakes area is a hidden gem. We would love to return for future visits.

Worst experience!! Avoid this property
The house is infected with worms, bugs and insects. This place is not safe to stay. We couldn't use the bedrooms and had to sleep in the floor due to bed bugs. The owner asked us to clean the house. After our stay, we were accused with not cleaning..etc and our security deposit is put on-hold. The owner hung-up on call when I tried to explain the difficulties we had in the house with kids.
Please stay away from this property. This house is infected with insects, bugs and spiders and on top of that the owner will accuse/lie and find ways to not return your security deposit.

In 10 years of renting my lovely home I have only had one bad set of renters. These visitors damaged my property far in excess of the security deposit and then bullied and threatened me when I suggested they should pay for the damage.
Please refer to all of the 5 star reviews posted about my property by very happy guests.
