About this property

Family-friendly spacious cabin in gated community overlooking the NRG Bridge

After an adventurous day of rafting, hiking, climbing or skiing, we have a spacious, open home where you can relax in the woods!

The New River Gorge Preserve is a private, gated community tucked in the forest, full of trails and overlooks, just minutes from downtown Fayetteville.

Our home was completed in the summer of 2020 and has 3500 square feet with an open floor plan to accommodate large groups or families.

A matching tree house with rock-climbing wall and swing sit in backyard. A fire pit with string lights sits on the side of the house. I do my best to make sure there is always fire wood.

A huge wrap-around porch is the perfect place to relax, eat or use it as a race track on rainy days (like my kids do).

A new electric vehicle (EV) charging station allows you to have a full charge for your drive home.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all kitchen utensils, appliances, a Keurig and a drip coffee maker. Coffee and (10) k-cups supplied.

Each bathroom has shampoo, conditioner and body soap dispensers.

A closet near the dining room includes: a high chair, booster seat, hiking carrier, pack n play, sound machine, blow-up mattress, baby gate and bed bumpers.

Bedroom #1: queen bed on 1st floor with en suite full bathroom
Bedroom #2: master with king bed and en suite full bathroom and jacuzzi
Bedroom #2.5: bunk bed in master closet
Bedroom #3: “Jack” has queen bed and connecting full bathroom with Jill
Bedroom #4: “Jill” has two bunk beds (4 single beds)
Office: lounge chair folds out to a small bed for someone 5’ 7” or shorter. Also, perfect spot for a pack n play.

We stayed here with another close family. Spacious vacation stay in a beautiful location with plenty in the area to keep the kids busy too. House was very clean and the communication with the property manager was excellent too. We'd love to come back again in the future!

Beautiful home

This was the perfect property for our growing family. The location was beautiful and the inside of the house was just as beautiful as the outside. We did the bridge walk and went on a few hikes. Pretty views were endless!

Excellent getaway!

The property is very nice and very well maintained. The cleaning between guests was perfect and we appreciated that the home was well-stocked with towels and paper products. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The owner was fast with communication and gave us all the check-in details well in advance. I highly recommend!

Amazing property close to the National Park

We had a family of 11 ranging in age from late 60s to an 8 month old infant - three families in total. It was a fantastic place for our family to spend time together. Plenty of room to explore, beautiful neighborhood, great location near both the attractions and amenities like restaurants and grocery stores. The owner was incredibly responsive and communicative. We would love to come back! The only minor issue is my mom has some mobility issues so the stairs into the home were a little challenging.

Beautiful and private location

The family really loved the outdoor fire pit. We used it every night to make s’mores. The kiddos really liked the tree house. The area was super private and we enjoyed walking down to the bridge overlook. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for allowing us the privilege of staying in your home

Amazing stay close to everything

We loved our stay in Fayetteville. The house was gorgeous and just as listed; the outdoor areas were also clean and kid friendly. There were way more supplies (firewood, garbage bags, detergent) than most rentals would have. Julie was really communicative and had clearly put a lot of effort into the home. The only issue we had was the tv would frequently disconnect from the internet, but otherwise everything was perfect.

Love this property!

Very spacious, there were 8 in total that stayed here. We had 1 toddler and he was easy to keep track of due to the open floor plan. The kitchen area was fantastic it had the cook top on the island so that we could all talk and interact while we were fixing meals. The owner of the property must be a photographer as there were many pictures hanging on the walls of scenery in the area that were just breathtaking. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay here.

MC trip

We are group of friends that have been doing motorcycle trips for the last 10 years. This was a great house with lots of room and beds. We had one small problem with the hot water and it was fixed promptly. I would recommend this property.

This is our 2nd stay at this home. Julie is great to work with, we had a little trouble with getting our house code to work however Julie handled it in moments. There were also a couple of fire detectors needing to have batteries replaced, again handled with property manager and his team which are very responsive and professional.

Perfect getaway in the mountains

We met our friends here for our spring break. The property is incredibly kid friendly- the hosts have everything you need for your family. The house was immaculate and the kitchen well appointed. We met the neighbors, too, and they were very friendly (which is nice when you have rambunctious kids). The playhouse was so fun and we loved making s’mores every night. This is the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in. And the location was PERFECTION! You feel like you’re in the mountains and yet you’re close to everything you would want to do in New River Gorge!

Happy New River Memories

Everyone in the family loved this trip. The house was beautiful. Fantastic place to relax inside the grand living room or outside on the wrap around porch. Personally, I loved the quiet and private location. Only a few minutes from Fayetteville and it’s world class hiking and rock climbing. Comfortable sleeping arrangements for up 13 guests. Although when we stayed we had a smaller group. WiFi was fast and the kitchen fully equipped. We even managed to put together a successful thanksgiving meal.

Julie and Jonathan started rafting in the New River Gorge when they were dating in the early 2000s. Now, that their family lives in Cincinnati, they travel to Fayetteville whenever they can to raft, kayak, rock climb and hike. "We'd rather be lost on the river, than found in the city."

Why they chose this property

Our family always travels with VRBO. We used to stay in this neighborhood for vacation. When a house went on sale in the NRG Preserve, we bought it. Sight, unseen.

What makes this property unique

Fayetteville is a hidden gem: great restaurants, friendly people, hipster vibe. The NRG Preserve allows you to be minutes away from all of that, while feeling like your millions of miles from everything.
