Inside, high ceilings and exposed beams invite you to unwind, while the scent of pine mingles with the faint aroma of a home‑cooked meal. Whether you’re gathering around the game room table or watching the sunrise from the deck, the pace slows and the woods become your backdrop.

Outdoor living
Step onto the spacious deck where the private hot tub invites year‑round soaking, the warm water rising into the cool night air as the woods surround you. An outdoor dining set and BBQ grill create a perfect setting for meals under the sky. The private backyard blends naturally into the landscape; it is not fully fenced but offers a peaceful extension of the property.
Pet‑friendly details
Dogs are welcome, and the cabin is pet‑friendly for families traveling with their four‑legged members. Cats are not allowed due to an allergy. Jefferson County requires any pets to be up to date on their rabies vaccination.
Practical details
Self‑check‑in is handled through a lockbox for easy arrival. Free parking is available on the premises. The cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs and walkways before each stay, though you may still notice occasional leaves or pollen from the natural setting.
Neighborhood

The quieter pace of the season lets you enjoy the region’s natural beauty without crowds, making it an ideal retreat for families, friends and small groups.

About the host
Hosted by Tony Cappaert
I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Huckleberry Hill in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
