About this property

Downtown Cottage

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION !
This house is in the epicenter of everything going on in downtown Holland.

From the front porch you can overlook the farmer’s market every Wednesday and Saturday. Turning to the right you can see Hopcat, the new movie theater, and several other brand new shops, breweries, and restaurants all within a few steps.

This upper unit has older home charm with 21st century updates. Skylight built into bathroom and all updated appliances.

The bedroom with the queen bed has a Queen Tempur-Pedic mattress and provides guests with the opportunity to sleep with good support and cool temperatures with its smart climate system. The Tempur-Pedic is designed to give you even weight distribution across your body.

You will have full access to the 2 bedroom top unit with separate exterior entrance from the bottom unit (which is occupied by long term tenants).

Parking is available in the driveway for two vehicles along with additional public parking across the street. Additional downtown public parking is available just across the street. While most things you would need on vacation (Food, Entertainment, and Drinks) are within walking distance, public transit is also accessible one block away.

This house borders a church lawn/green-space and sits one street off of the main downtown strip (8th st).

Additional indoor storage for items like bicycles and large equipment is limited but if you message me, we may be able to find a solution to meet your needs.

Due to Covid-19 I am keeping in-person interaction limited with guests. Guests can experience a contact-free check in by utilizing the lock box and access code. I can be as near or as far as you need. I have lived in Holland, MI since attending Hope College in 2007 and know the area well. If you need any suggestions or advice while you are here, I am happy to help.

Extra cleaning procedures with antibacterial cleaning products have been added due to COVID-19.

Perfect option for Holland vacay
Great location. 5 mins. from shops and the outdoor market, yet quiet and easy to access. It does look a little bigger in the pictures, but the space fit for 4 of us just fine for a 4 day stay. I highly recommend. It was comfortable and the host was easy to communicate with and the place was very clean and cozy.

Girls weekend getaway
The property would be perfect for college age people looking for a location within walking distance to town. The unit was an upstairs apartment with very steep steps to get to the second floor. Challenging to bring suitcases up the steep staircase. The renters living on the first floor were loud and woke us up around 2:00 am. Do not sleep with the windows open because the house is located on the corner of a very busy street, and we were listening to truckers and loud cars almost all night. The bathroom was exactly as others described it.

This was a return trip for us. The location of the home can’t be beat. Walking distance to town, farmers market and parks. We had a great stay.

Bridal party fun times!
I rented this house for my daughter's wedding for her and her bridesmaids to stay in and get ready. They loved the place and there was plenty of room for them all. We were even able to take some "getting ready" pictures there in front of the windows. It is in a great spot very close to the farmer's market and downtown. Thank you so much for everything!

About the host

Host profile image
I first fell in love with the city of Holland when I was a senior in High School on a college visit. I then moved to Holland, Michigan in the fall of 2007 where I attended Hope College and studied Electrical Engineering. Since then I have earned my MBA and stayed anchored in Holland as my home base while traveling as often as I can.

I know this city in and out after living here since 2007 and can offer any advice and recommendations you may need.

Why they chose this property

This property is truly in the best location for downtown access. One block away from the main street in Holland that is always bustling with activity and custom shops, stores, and restaurants.
