My family and I stayed at this home for Thanksgiving, and although the house is a bit dated, we absolutely loved being there. It truly felt like a home away from home. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, the spacious front and back yards, and the beautiful, large kitchen. Some of our family joined us both on Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and everyone loved spending time in the backyard by the lake. We would have gone kayaking right from the property, but it was a little too cold during our stay. The owner was amazing and kindly allowed us to check in early. Rachel, the host, was very accommodating and communicated with us so well. Whatever we needed, she was there—quick to answer both calls and text messages. Our 3 days in Jacksonville for Thanksgiving were truly wonderful. We’re already looking forward to our next family gathering, and we will definitely stay at this home again if it’s available. Thank you to both the owner and the host for making our stay so special.
Wonderful place to stay. The ability fish, and canoe was really nice bonus! There is plenty of space to relax. I highly recommend and hope to stay here again in the future!

We had a great stay here. The house is in a fantastic location that is convenient to many things, or you can sit back and relax in the back yard on your own private dock. The owner made sure we had his contact information and made it clear he was availble should we need anything. We look forward to coming back, thanks!

We had a good time tucked away in Jacksonville. The location was within a short drive of everything we wanted to do. The owner reacted quickly to my SOS, when I locked us all out of the house. The neighborhood is very quiet. Good experience for us.

We enjoyed the house very much. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. All new appliances in the kitchen. We loved the fire pit in the back yard with plenty of wood to enjoy a fire on a cool night. Beds were very comfortable. Tim was immediately responsive to any contact with him. We enjoyed our stay very much and will return if we are in the area.

Quiet neighborhood. Great driveway for multiple cars. Plenty of towels and extra sheets. Appreciated the two laundry baskets and large drying rack. The basement sofa bed was uncomfortable, but we had brought a foam mat, and that made it okay. Tim took care of things right away when we let him know the wifi wasn’t working. Thanks, Tim!

This was a great house and very comfortable. It was private and had a nice dock on the river out back where the boys were able to fish. Almost everything is provided. We needed a potato peeler and couldn’t find one so had to buy one, they also only provide 4 rolls of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towels and with a family of 4 for 6 days that was not enough. Some squeaky wood floors in the rooms but it didn’t bother us. The check in process is the only complaint I would have. There were no online instructions so I wasn’t 100% sure we had a house to rent. I had to call VBRO to get the phone number for the owner. Once I got ahold of him he was very helpful and answered every question I had about check in. I would stay here again if we go back to Jacksonville!

We stayed here for two weeks while moving across country and waiting for our new home to be completed. It’s a nice big space. We had the upstairs. There were renters in the basement unit too who were very nice (but a surprise as we didn’t know someone was living in the basement when we rented the house). We were working from home while we were there and had plenty of space and more than one choice of where to set up our work stations. Our dog loved the front yard (unfenced). While we could have used the fenced backyard for him, the people downstairs used it too. Not a problem and they were very nice but we thought we’d have the entire yard, front and back, to ourselves. There are kayaks to use for the creek. We did not use them but the people downstairs used them often. Great quiet neighborhood. We walked our dog early in the morning and after dark and felt extremely safe any time. Tim was great. Very responsive. Showed up at the property a couple of times but never bothered us. He would take garbage cans out and came over to make sure wewere hurricane Ian ready (never bothered us but he had helpful tips). We would definitely stay again if we needed a place in Jacksonville.
So our stay was awesome here at this property!!! We've used VRBO a lot in the past as well as other property rental websites and/or companies and honestly this is one of the smoothest sailing trips that we've had. We did have a hiccup the first night we were there with the bed but the property manager fixed it right away so it was pretty awesome to have that happen and see how quick he responded to issues. 😁 We will definitely be staying here again in the future not to mention the backyard is amazing 🤩🤩 I wish the weather was a little bit better so that we could have utilized it a little bit more but all in all it was definitely what we were looking for. I even have a one-year-old that just started walking and in the beginning I was terrified honestly because of the fireplace and all the hardwood floors at the property. At home we have carpet but in my opinion it helped him learn to walk a little bit better by being on that hardwood floor, and he didn't get hurt at all. The only thing that I would change about it is when we got to the property the bathrooms were still dirty there was still piles of sand and dirt on the floor but I know that's not Tim's fault. He doesn't do the house cleaning. And I think that maybe a small baby gate at the top of the stairs would be great. Or at least have the option to put it up like maybe have one in the closet to make it a little more friendly for families. But that's the only things that I would change. But I also know that hardwood floors throughout a whole house are very hard to keep up so I had no problem cleaning before we left. In order to kind of help Tim out because he was such a great property owner! 🥰

Alana,
Thanks for the great review, and look forward to your return trip. Hopefully you will have better weather and be able to enjoy more of the outside areas.
We do have a baby gate, located inside the hallway closet. It is there for exactly the purpose which you described.
On the sand on floors, that was 100% my fault. The house had already been cleaned and then we had Stanley Steemer do a duct cleaning earlier in the day before your check in. We were told by the technician to leave the air handler off for the dust to settle in the ducts. Later, I came back to turn it on, before you arrived, and did not see anything come out of the ducts, so I left. I should have made sure that every vent did not push anything out. If I had known we would have certainly corrected it.
Thanks for the feedback and look forward to seeing you again.

Complete relaxation? Ty Tim for allowing us to enjoy your home!
Loved the stay. Tim was very professional, thoughtful, great customer service, Even the neighbor was very helpful with the kids while they were fishing by giving tips, type of bait, the best time to fish, so they wouldn't get bored and actually enjoy the experience! Very grateful and would definitely recommend this location to friends and family. My wife and I have stayed at several of these locations and this just became my 2nd favorite!

Thanks for the 5 Star review. I also want to thank you for leaving the home in great shape. The cleaners were very happy, and we had a nice turn around for this afternoons' guest's arrival.
What I really like about your review, is you articulate exactly the reasons why you liked the home. You tell how the rear of the property was part of the experience which allowed everyone to have a great time. I really hope that you and your group return in the future.
Thanks for staying & stay in touch

Our short, weekend stay was absolutely perfect. We wanted to do a special zoo trip with the kids and it couldn’t have been better. We were only 20 minutes away from that and 50 minutes from St. Augustine which we decided to do on Sunday. The kayaks and outdoor fire pit were enjoyed by all. We definitely will be back.

Great Place
Check in was super easy, property was nice, plenty of wood for the fire pit, having kayaks and life vests was really cool. Overall it was a great place. There are a few things that were a little bothersome but could be overlooked if you don’t mind. The master bedroom headboard shares a wall with a giant living room tv on the other side, so if you are a light sleeper just know you probably want to pick the other bedroom. The house is older so very dusty and the full bath needs a lot of love. So if you are looking for upscale perfection, this one isn’t for you. It comes across as a well lived in home. The owner will show up at any time without notice and also his workers as the are converting the bottom of the house into an apartment so that was a bit disappointing because it took away all privacy knowing at anytime there will be someone coming or going so that was super awkward. Scared the kids a bit too when they would be downstairs in the makeshift room and hear someone through the sliding door. So again, if you are mellow and laid back this is perfect!! If you are perfect and want perfection, not for you.
Had a great time at this west side location. Having access to kayaks on cedar river was a plus to this property. Location to NAS Jax was ideal. Property owner was nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay at this location again in the future. Thank you Tim!
