Charming apartment, quiet neighborhood, comfortable longstay
I travel to Paris often and rent apartments, and this was my first time in the 15th Arr. I stayed here for 9 nights and had a wonderful stay. The apartment is exactly as pictured - small but very well organized and decorated. Everything is basically brand new, and the bed is one of the most comfortable I've slept on in a VRBO apartment. The bathroom is well-sized and the kitchen has everything needed for a long stay. The apartment is spotless and even though it's on a main street, it's very quiet. The patio was nice for relaxing with a glass of wine or having lunch. My specific comments for anyone who decides to book this apartment: (1) This place is perfect for 1 person but might be a little tight for 2, unless the couple is used to being in close quarters. Other than sleeping, there was only the 2 seats at the table and a small chair, plus the table outside, so unless the weather is nice, there is limited place to just sit around. (2) The stairs to get into the apartment from the sidewalk is tight, so please consider travelling light with no heavy suitcases. This apartment is definitely not suited for anyone with mobility issues (i.e. being able to walk up and down narrow stairs is a must), but once in the apartment, it is extremely comfortable. (3) Transportation around here is fantastic. There are many metro lines into the center of Paris, as well as a bus (#70) one block away that takes you directly to Hotel de Ville in about 35 minutes with a really nice journey through the city. It is also extremely walkable to most major sites through really pretty neighborhoods. If you take the metro, strongly recommend getting of at the Commerce stop (no matter what the map apps say), and exit at the middle of the platform because there's moving escalators! Make an immediate right at the first landing, and another set of moving escalators! You'll see a Sephora, turn right and walk straight towards the church at the end of that street (Rue de Commerce), which is the church across the street from the apartment. If you're traveling with luggage, this is the easiest way to get to the sidewalk. The next stop, Felix Faure, doesn't have escalators so it's a little tougher getting to the sidewalk. (4) There's a laundromat on the same block as the apartment, right around the corner, and several supermarkets within walking distance. Rue de Commerce also has a ton of food shops open during the day and great restaurants. Enjoy!!
