  • Exceeded Our Expectations

"Just returned from our vacation week. So many great things have been said before and I agree with all of them. The inside of the house was very clean and had everything you would ever need including all pots and pans, a bullet for making frozen drinks and a juicer for making fresh orange juice. The top floor is just the master bedroom and suite so is very private. You have access to a double garage for storing anything that might need locked up. Inside the garage are four beach cruiser bikes and a child's 18" bike. She provides everything for the beach such as several beach umbrellas, numerous chairs, boogie boards, skim boards and a huge wagon to pull it all with. The backyard feels like a resort with all of the landscaping and the pool. If you need to stay out of the sun like we do, there is always shade on one side of the property because how tall the trees are. The dock is great if you have any fisherman in your group and you can launch kayaks off the side of the dock with the kayak launcher that moves up and down with the tide. The beach is a close walk toward the gulf side, we rode bikes to the two piers on the bay side and there are many businesses close by on Pine St. The first morning we were there, I went to Jinny and Janes and surprised our kids with the biggest cinnamon rolls I have ever seen (and they were delicious). This was our first time on the island, but you simply can't go wrong staying here."

  • The Perfect Location for a Family Gathering!

"My Wife and I, invited my 4 adult children and their families to spend a week on Anna Maria Island. The location was great we were a few blocks from the beach, we had our own pier with a boat, we were a few miles from the downtown and shopping. The inground pool and hot tub were constantly used. You had privacy on all sides because of the lush landscaping. My oldest son, his wife and 3 children used the lower level for their family, they had privacy and their own space. Upstairs it was an open floorplan with a large breakfast bar and kitchen so we could share cooking for those large family dinners. Just outside is a screened deck, perfect for a family meal. All of the rooms and baths were generous in size. The home was designed for families that are in and out constantly from the water (boat, beach & pool. We did a sunset kayak cruise for the entire family that was amazing. Everyone, no matter what their age or interests found things to do every day. I want to compliment our generous Host, Matt King. He took us out on the boat and showed us the waterway and made sure we were comfortable and confident. He met us when we arrived and checked in with us during the week to make sure we were having a stress free week. He also gave us the best place to go for Seafood on the Island, The Star Fish Company, you would never know about it if you weren't a local. They are literally taking fish off the boats and preparing amazing meals. I would strongly recommend this home for large family gatherings. When we vacation in Florida we will definitely book this home again on Anna Maria Island. It was a great bonding experience for our family."

  • Blessed Tranquility

"This was a perfect location to unplug for a few days. Once we arrived, the car remained parked in the driveway. The heated pool was surrounded by beautiful tropical landscaping with plenty of seating options available on the paver deck. During the day we were able to lounge on the pool deck while the younger crew enjoyed swimming; and in the evening we relaxed around the fire in the chiminea. We were able to grill out every evening on the provided grill (with full propane tank.) The home is located just one block from Pine - a street lined with small shops and eateries and ends at the Anna Maria Island City Pier. More shops and eateries are within walking distance on Gulf. We had amazing breakfasts at Ginny's and Jane e's Cafe (located in the old IGA on Gulf) and the Donut Experiment (on Pine) must be tried at least once. Located only a few steps from the beach, we loved to be able to just walk along the water or sit and watch the water without having to "set up camp." The kitchen was well-stocked with plates, utensils, and cooking implements. Basic paper products were provided - we had brought our own just in case. The beds were comfortable and the linens were fresh. Tastefully decorated cottage was clean and the perfect size for our needs. The cottage is connected to the main house (which is also available to rent.) We had the place to ourselves the first night, but another family arrived the following afternoon. We enjoyed the extra company, but it may not have been terrific if it had been anyone else - so, that's sort of a gamble. Overall, an wonderful experience - this was our first time using HomeAway, and I was a little hesitant, but any reservations were washed away when we arrived. We are looking forward to our next vacation on AMI."

  • Trip to AMI property ID 16555 May 14-21

"My friends and I were very pleased with the amenities and cleanliness of the house. It's located near the center of most everything; however, tucked away on a quiet street. One caution, there are a lot of steps in the house and no elevator. If you are disabled in any way, it would be hard to stay here, but if you are not, the house is GREAT! We had a wonderful time, and will contact the Carney's again for future stays!"
