  • Perfect Getaway

"I surprised my husband for our 18th anniversary with a trip to Florida. I chose this cottage because it seemed cozy and quaint. Little did I know that it would greatly exceed my expectations. We loved the decor, location, size, patio, and all the little details that were thought of right down to the colored marbles scattered throughout the crushed shell "gravel" outside. Adele is very friendly & accommodating and made it easy to want to come back. This little gem is just 2 doors down from a general store with a deli and steps away from boutique shopping. We loved the availability of the bikes (which we made extensive use of!) and kayaks (which we'll have to get to next time!). We enjoyed long walks on the beach and spending quality time together while feeling at home. We were impressed with the availability of FREE public transportation around the island, but didn't take advantage. The cottage is smack in the middle of the historic district of Anna Maria Island with the oldest church on the island directly across the street. Overall, we couldn't be more happy with our stay. Twin Palms is the perfect getaway that is close to everything you'll ever need for an island vacation. P.S. be sure to check out the free museum just a couple blocks away to learn the fascinating history of Anna Maria Island."

  • Awesome! Exceeded all expecations.

"We went into the vacation with high expectations and this home and AMI still exceeded them. This was our first visit to the island and we'll certainly be back after this experience. The pictures don't do the house justice. It's spacious, clean, perfect location. Truly amazing time. The pool was perfect. Sitting on the dock at night was one of my favorite parts. We watched multiple storms roll by at night and the fish constantly jump in the canal. We rented a boat for four days and what an experience that was to have it docked right in your back yard. The walk to the beach was easy and it's not crowded in that area at all. We boated alongside dolphins, swam with a manatee on the ocean side and just had a fabulous time. We made good buddies with the resident heron "Sherlock". He added a lot of personality to the property and was fun whenever he'd pop over for a visit. The location is private. And my oh my, sooo quiet. Which is what we truly loved about it. I think we talked in a whisper almost the whole vacation because it was so quiet and serene around the home. From start to finish this was a great experience and I'd encourage anyone to come visit Anna Maria and to stay at Simplicity Cottage. Also, we were here in mid-August. Yes it was hot, but there's water all around you to keep you cool. And I was really surprised that it wasn't buggy at the home. Maybe we got lucky because I thought there'd be a lot of bugs being on a quiet canal setting. But they weren't a bother at all. Didn't see a single mosquito (except as we walked through to dunes to get to the beach briefly). My only regret is we didn't stay longer!"

  • Blessed Tranquility

"This was a perfect location to unplug for a few days. Once we arrived, the car remained parked in the driveway. The heated pool was surrounded by beautiful tropical landscaping with plenty of seating options available on the paver deck. During the day we were able to lounge on the pool deck while the younger crew enjoyed swimming; and in the evening we relaxed around the fire in the chiminea. We were able to grill out every evening on the provided grill (with full propane tank.) The home is located just one block from Pine - a street lined with small shops and eateries and ends at the Anna Maria Island City Pier. More shops and eateries are within walking distance on Gulf. We had amazing breakfasts at Ginny's and Jane e's Cafe (located in the old IGA on Gulf) and the Donut Experiment (on Pine) must be tried at least once. Located only a few steps from the beach, we loved to be able to just walk along the water or sit and watch the water without having to "set up camp." The kitchen was well-stocked with plates, utensils, and cooking implements. Basic paper products were provided - we had brought our own just in case. The beds were comfortable and the linens were fresh. Tastefully decorated cottage was clean and the perfect size for our needs. The cottage is connected to the main house (which is also available to rent.) We had the place to ourselves the first night, but another family arrived the following afternoon. We enjoyed the extra company, but it may not have been terrific if it had been anyone else - so, that's sort of a gamble. Overall, an wonderful experience - this was our first time using HomeAway, and I was a little hesitant, but any reservations were washed away when we arrived. We are looking forward to our next vacation on AMI."
