The house was perfect for us. Location is close to all our local destinations, located in a quiet area and clean. One of the best parts was watching the 2 bald eagles up close, as well as a number of ducks, pelicans, gulls and other birds from the deck. front porch!
Great place for our anniversary weekend!!!!!!!!!! Everything in one place, fishing, boat dock, grill about a mile away, local store about 3 miles away. What a great place to getaway and everyone in the town was friendly. I didn't want to leave.
We had a great time Duck hunting knowing we had a clean place to come back to rest after our hunts . Hopefully we will make it again next year . Thanks
We absolutely loved this property! It had beautiful views and ducks right behind the house. The property owner was very friendly and easy to get in touch with. The only issue we had was getting the Wi-Fi to connect but it wasn’t a big deal to us as we enjoyed disconnecting from the fast pace life at home!
This was our second stay in Swanquarter for my birthday weekend. It's just something about the peace by the water and the convenience to put the boat in so close by. Everyone around town is so friendly and you must try the burgers a the local grill. The owners keep the place clean and are helpful. This has become our new favorite place!!!

Beautiful Sunset Views
We had a great stay and loved the area! If you’re expecting a 5 star the house isn’t it, but the views and location make it 5 star plus! At night, you have complete privacy, peace and quiet (except for the sound waves hitting shore). During the day, some locals come to fish on the pier or point, but everyone was friendly! We enjoyed visiting the small towns and even tried crabbing off the pier! Be sure to stop at Mattie Arts & Visitor Center for information and beautiful souvenirs! We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return!!
We visited the last week of June 2023 and the weather was perfect for stargazing on the upper deck.
Loved the locale, very unique because it’s next to a salvage shipyard. And you have your own private beach to fish or catch crabs.
Secluded and scenic, and yet it’s just a few miles to Belle Island Pier or the ferry to OBX.
I would like to stay again someday.
Highly recommended for people who love the beach , but not the crowds and traffic.
I appreciate the owner for accommodating us on a last minute reservation .
We just made lifelong memories there thanks to you !
The place was peaceful minus the mosquitoes!!! Great location to fish, crab or shrimp! A boat would be very handy, if you really want to fish and it would be very convenient, as you can dock right beside the house.
Took awhile to cool the place down but after that it was comfortable.
The local Chris’s grocery and bait shop has most anything we needed, including a fishing license. Not much else there!
Overall the place was a nice little get away but does need a few things. Front door handle is broken but eventually got it to work and lock. Could not do laundry because the dryer does not work. Only provided 3 towels to use so glad we decided to bring our own. And the toilet seat upstairs is broken I would think the cleaning people would have noticed but that’s just my opinion
Quiet, Relaxing and Some Great Fishing and Very Friendly People
We had a very quiet and relaxing family vacation here, fishing and spending quality time with family. We caught drum, crab and even caught our first eel’s. There isn’t much to do, the town is very quaint and everyone we met was extremely friendly. Chris’s Grocery/Tackle Shop and Family Dollar provided everything we needed after our first shopping trip 30 minutes away the day we arrived. We took the ferry to Ocracoke one day and enjoyed the beach. The property owner was very friendly and attended to our needs. And promptly responded when I messaged her. BUT..make sure and bundle up on bug spray, if not you will be eaten alive! Otherwise, it was a lovey trip and we enjoyed our stay very much!
Far away from the OBX crowds but still accessible. Decent Internet. Deck from bedroom have a great view, especially in night with fark skies (even with lights from boats). was not super buggy. house was clean but a little damp which I didn't mind. because of storm and winds, we couldnt try the Kayaks provided. pretty sure it will be fun.
My son and I brought our fishing kayaks down for the weekend. We had a great time relaxing at the cabin and paddling around the bay.
The place was clean quiet, and both the AC and Wi-Fi worked perfectly. What more could anyone ask for? We will definitely be booking another stay in the near furure.
We arrived a little late Friday evening, but everything was exactly as described. The place was cozy and had everything we needed. Waking up to a beautiful sunrise and catching our first fish of the day was awesome. Literally, one cast and FISH ON! Can't wait to bring my grandson down next time. Thank you!!!
On a side note, I recommend bringing a pistol just in case. We several snakes were spotted while we were there.
Property and the owner were both awesome! Property had great fishing from the banks, close to Bell Island Swanquarter Pier, and the owner was very helpful and responsive. Very much look forward to coming out again!
