'Vista Encantada' is a luxury 3 bedroom home located on a north ridge overlooking the 400 year old city of Santa Fe, situated on 2 acres with large expanses of views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the North.

The property offers three bedrooms with two newly renovated luxury bathrooms, a king suite with sitting room & portal, a queen bed room, and a double twin bed room. The main entertaining area of the home consists of a large newly remodeled gourmet kitchen, with granite and marble counters, sitting area for breakfast, and a kiva fireplace. The kitchen is open to two private courtyards, with fountain, sculpture, and seating areas for private entertaining. The large living room and dining room offer fantastic views of the mountains, with a copper clad fireplace, sitting areas, and large antique dining table. The new master bathroom offers back lit mirrors, a two person soaking tub, luxury shower, travertine stone heated flooring, towel warmers, fantastic views of the mountains to the north. The new guest bathroom offers a new double vanity with back lit mirrors, with new tub w/shower, towel warmers, stone flooring, expanded space, and great views of the mountains to the north.

'Vista Encantada' is professionally decorated with European furnishings, original art and sculpture. The long portal on the north side offers great outdoor entertaining opportunities, fireplace, with multiple seating and dining areas. A new gourmet outdoor kitchen offers seating as well as gourmet cooking on a large professional gas/charcoal grill, a wood burning pizza oven, and large fireplace for chilly nights. Many outdoor seating areas offer privacy as well as great views of the surrounding forests and mountains.

Both indoor and outdoor kitchens offer professional appliances, all necessary small appliances, warming drawers, gas ranges, microwave and electric ovens, espresso machine, coffee maker, and service items.

Located near the portal in a secluded area is the Artist Casita. This building offers an artist studio, office, lounging with TV, wood burning stove, and outdoor deck with an attached arbor. This is a very private getaway for peace and views among the trees. This area is adjacent to the Zen garden located privately within the 2 acre compound.

There is plenty of parking on the grounds, with a two car garage, security system, and fire alarm security. The location is very near the downtown area, close to the Santa Fe Opera, and convenient to Tesuque as well as the roads to the Santa Fe Ski Area or Ten Thousand Waves Spa.

Throughout the house are situated LCD/LED TV's, kitchen, bedroom, and living area, with cable, DSL, Wi-Fi, Internet, DVD, CD, and library of DVD's and music CD's. Also, throughout the house are original art and sculpture, from many local Santa Fe Galleries and Artists.

We have loved Santa Fe for many years, were married here, and enjoy spending time in the City, with multiple interests in the Arts, including the Santa Fe Opera, Santa Fe Symphony, and Santa Fe Chamber Music. We also appreciate the multiple Art Galleries and great restaurants located throughout Santa Fe. As well, we enjoy the beatiful outdoors, vistas, and temperate climate of the area.

The views and the property were breathtaking

We had an amazing trip! Took our family of five (including three children ages 12-6) on our first ski trip. The house was just amazing. Very comfortable and spacious with every upgrade you could imagine! The artist casita outback was even outfitted with art supplies so my ten year old could do her favorite thing! The outdoor area was just beautiful with views like I have never seen. The house is located very close (30 min door to slope) of the skiing and despite a warmer than usual winter, the skiing was great. We even lucked out and got snow while we were there, which the kids loved. We can not say enough good things about this property, it’s owners, and the management. All together a memorable family trip!

Gorgeous house with fantastic views

We loved our stay at Vista Encantada. The house was decorated beautifully and filled with local art. We especially loved sitting by the fire and the huge back patio had the most amazing views. The sunrises and sunsets everyday were one of the best parts. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Lovely Home on Beautiful Setting!

We loved our stay at Vista Encantada! The property’s setting is amazing and definitely lives up to it’s name. The house is charming, well-appointed, well-stocked, relaxing and comfortable, kitchen is well-supplied for hobby chef, quality mattresses, private setting but short drive to town. The outdoor entertaining area is like another room or two. We cooked pizza in the wood burning pizza oven, enjoyed dinners at the outdoor dining table, relaxed with a glass of wine at the outdoor fireplace - all while taking in the mountain views. Lots of room for our family of four to spread out after a day of hiking. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking with our young teens at Bandelier National Monument and Tent Rocks and seeing our first tarantula in the wild (at Bandelier - note that there are no tarantulas at this property). Finally, Herb. the owner, and Julie, the property manager, couldn’t be more helpful. We would definitely return and highly recommend!

Lovely Home and Fantastic Outdoor area

We spent 2 weeks in Vista Encantada and thoroughly enjoyed it! The kitchen is beautifully appointed and equipped as is the rest of the house. The grounds and outdoor entertaining area are beautiful and many memorable moments were spent outside. We look forward to returning next year!

Good place for families

Good: lots of space, very nice furnishings and decor, kids (2, 5 y/o) loved looking to Dinosaurs in the junipers and short pines. Outdoor space was nice. Close to town, nice tranquil vibe. Just so nice with small kids to have some space vs even a large hotel room.

Not so Good: there was a little road noise outside that seemed less prominent as we went along. Felt like it was slightly high on the price once all the fee got added.

Overall, owner and property manager were pleasant to deal with. PS if you have kids definitely do Harry's Roadhouse Cafe; kid friendly with high end cuisine, a rarity.

Owner's Response: Many thanks to our guest for his positive comments on our property. We appreciate his notes on the expansive space with exceptional views of the mountains. With regard to the road in front of the house and some road noise, we feel this is a positive that the road is always passable, even during snow and ice periods. Additionally, the minimal amount of noise does not affect the outside areas of the house, which are sheltered from the road.With regards to comments that the cost of rental is a bit high based on added fees, we are not responsible for added fees due to bookings made through VRBO. In the 15 years of ownership of Vista Encantada, we have never had any reviews of the property that were less than 5 stars, and we appreciate the views made by our guest. Herb Adcock

Fantastic home

Just far enough from town to grab outstanding views. Beautiful loggia where we spent most of the time, always ate out side. I have stayed in a number of rentals over the last 6 years and this is tops. Kitchen well supplied. Plenty of room for three or four, and the newly remodeled bathrooms are hotel worth five star.
