Great stay

It was perfect for my son and i visiting the area. The place was clean and exactly how it’s described. They even had coffee so i didn’t need to go out to the store in the morning after a long day and night of travel.

Another great visit

My kids keep asking to stay at this cottage. It’s clean, bright and cozy. Another great stay while we visit family and friends in the area.

Perfectly Located Lovely Home

The carriage house sits on a nice piece of property directly across the road from the trail to the national park. We went off-season and didn't lack for anything in the cozy home. During our four-day stay, we cooked one meal and ate meals out the rest (except for light breakfasts). Kevin is so responsive. The trail goes in two directions, so you get some variety right there, and you are close to many different small towns and beaches, including Clinton, Madison, and Guilford. Jacob's Beach is nice; you can walk there from Pa's Restaurant in the Guildford Marina.Had a great time overall. Thanks for your lovely home!

Sweet carriage house

I’ll be returning here whenever there’s no room to stay at Mom’s house. Immaculate, light-filled rooms with comfy new furniture, bedding — what a treat. The kitchen has everything you might need and the host has provided basic items that will please dog-owners and “I forgot to pack X” packers. The location is a stone’s throw from the beach and a nice walk into charming downtown Madison.

Clean and bright and great location

Everything was up to date, beautifully decorated, and very clean. Each bedroom has a closet with shelves because there is no space for anything but a bed and two bedside tables. The skylights in the bathroom and living room make it really bright. Totally updated with new bathroom and kitchen. With windows shut the road noise is minimal. Close to town, beach, stores. Great location Kevin very easily reached and he gives heads up about people staying at the house on the property We brought a baby gate so our dog could enjoy the porch. Pretty much everything you need is there. Loved all of the outlets and USB ports in the living room and bedroom. And also the lights on the stairs leading up to the apartment for after dark.

We enjoyed our stay

My husband and I stayed here with our 3 month old infant while visiting family in the area. We brought our own crib and baby supplies but besides that the property had everything we needed and was really clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Would definitely recommend to others.

As lovely as advertised, and more!

The host has done a beautiful job of renovating this carriage house, with everything clearly thoughtfully chosen both for comfort and to please the eye. There is also a nice yard, with places to sit out and enjoy a morning coffee or evening cocktail--or just sit and watch birds flit in the trees. The location is perfect for the beautiful Hammonasset Beach State Park, and anything else you might need is readily available nearby. Our host, Kevin, was attentive to make sure we had everything we needed, along with being a very nice guy. We recommend the carriage house most highly!

Fabulous Property

This property was fabulous! As a former hospitality professional, I hold a high standard and this place far exceeded our expectations. It’s located within walking distance to the state park/beach. It was super clean and had all the necessary amenities and then some. The host was super responsive. We plan to rebook in the future.

Perfect home and location

Everything was exactly what we needed and the host was very responsive. We have family in the area and will definitely stay here again! Morning run/walks to Hammonasset State Park made it absolutely unbeatable.

Charming cottage with quick access to plenty of activities

This cottage/carriage house is a very clean and bright place with charm and character. It is nicely appointed inside and is on a very attractive lot. The whole property is simply charming. In addition to that, it is centrally located to Madison, Hammonaset Beach and a short 20 minute drive to Old Lyme. Without question, if available and we are in the area, we would reserve this carriage house again!

Family gathering oasis in New England Charm

We rented this property to gather and celebrate a graduation. This home and the carriage house was all we could have hoped for and more!! The hosts left no detail unchecked. Beautiful beds and linens with corners turned down! The bathrooms were well appointed with the extras we may have forgotten. The kitchen was sublime and fully appointed with a huge farm table that we all loved gathering round. Took a walk(some may want to ride) over the greenway to the beach and there is a beautiful side yard and patio where we enjoyed a New England lobster feast to celebrate!! The downtown is gorgeous and I can’t wait to visit again!

Relaxing weekend getaway

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this lovely property for a weekend getaway. The proximity to Hammonasset was a plus and we enjoyed several long walks on the beach. Madison is a beautiful town with quaint shops and a variety of restaurants. The house was bright and airy, nicely decorated and very comfortable.

I'm originally from Montreal, Canada. Spent a few years traveling and living in different places & countries. UCONN alumni, and settled in Madison in 2003 where I've been a small business owner. We fell in love with this property the first time we saw it. The house was vacant for many years, so it was a labor of love updating & remodeling in the spring of 2021. We hope you love it as much as we do!

This neighborhood is the closest to Hammonasset Beach State Park than any other. You can certainly drive the 1 mile, but the Greenway Trail is a beautiful wooded walking and biking trail just across the street that goes directly to the beach.

This property has 2 separate airbnb rentals on it... one is the main house that sleeps 8, and then this newly renovated, fully equipped carriage house apartment which is 50ft from the main house, has a private entrance and is located on the second floor. The only space shared between the 2 buildings is the driveway; you will have your own entrance, private outdoor patio set and fire-pit area. Relax and enjoy your stay!"
