Why Kristine and Thierry chose Luberon Area

We bought this property so we could have a typical village quality of life 'a la provencale'..without using a car. The house is located in the heart of Lourmarin and was remodeled with the finest quality materials. Furnished as a personal residence rather than as a rental unit as we try to spend as much time there as we can!!...we love it there, we hope you will too!!!

NOTE: To avoid VRBO's new traveler high booking fees, please contact us directly by email or telephone for pricing quote. FYI, clicking on the site's "Instant Quote" button will add these unnecessary fees to the quote.

What makes this cottage unique

Perfect Accommodation in a Stunning Location

  • 5 of 5

Everything was exactly as per the web site and we were not disappointed The accommodation was superb, so much so that we have already booked for two weeks next year.

The house was perfectly situated in the centre of Lourmarin. When you walked through gate into the street everything that you needed was on hand, plenty restaurants, bars and cafes.

We ate at La Recreation (excellent local cuisine) and Le Numero 9 for our wedding anniversary and we were impressed. Just for a drink go to Cafe Gaby great for people watching

The market on a Friday is awesome and not to be missed. Also try the farmers market on a Tuesday, the variety was impressive we can recommend the mussels and enjoy them in the garden with a glass of the local wine.

The surrounding area was a delight to explore and cannot wait to do it all again.

Thanks to Kristine and Thierry for the experience. The house, village and surrounding areas ticked all our boxes and will not disappoint you.

Sweet Provencal 'apartment' in storybook town!

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED our stay @ MAISON AMELIE IN LOURMARIN! Perfect place for 2 with a darling private terrace to enjoy morning coffee, an afternoon picnic, a glass of wine etc. We didn't think the photos on VRBO did it justice! We didn't cook but there was a good-sized fridge and gas stove that would make it easy to make a home cooked meal. Having a washing machine and dishwasher were a bonus! There are a good number of restaurants within walking distance, there a many hilltop towns to visit a short drive away and the Lourmarin Market is to die for! (the best we came across!). The owners, Kristine & Thierry were excellent at responding to our questions from the time of booking and throughout our stay. We would highly recommend this property to friends and family!

Special Home in a Special Place

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 5 nights in Lourmarin and we had the BEST time. Not only is the village classically Provençal, but this home is very, very special.

First off, it is located in the heart of the village -- all of the restaurants and shops are no more than a 5-minute walk. And if driving is more your thing, there are many other villages within a 20-minute drive.

Moreover, the house has all of the charm of the old-world and all of the conveniences of the new-world -- WiFi, air conditioning, a gas stove, dish washer, washing machine, etc.

Additionally, Kristine and Thierry have gone out of their way to provide very helpful suggestions and instructions.

Really, I cannot recommend this home highly enough. As I wrote in the title of this review, it is a special home in a special place.

Thank you, Kristine and Thierry for a wonderful, wonderful week!!!

Delightful apartment in the heart of Lourmarin

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I recently had occasion to spend a few days of our vacation in lovely Lourmarin, located approximately an hour south and east of Avignon in southern France. While there we stayed in this lovely property owned and operated by Kristine Marc. The property itself was perfect for us with kitchen facilities, laundry, a comfortable sitting area, and large master bedroom along with an intimate, relaxing private courtyard for morning coffee or afternoon wine . Lourmarin, although a small village has plenty to offer, including good restaurants, coffee shops, fresh pastries, interesting food and artisan markets, as well as art studios and shops. The other appealing feature of the village was its close proximity to a number of other small towns in the region, all of which were quite interesting to visit and explore. Looking forward to going back soon !

We found our perfect getaway GEM in Lourmarin!!!

  • 5 of 5

We found our perfect getaway Gem in our favorite village of Provence! Maison Amelie, is a charming house with a beautiful, manicured sunny private garden...and yes, IN THE CENTER OF VILLAGE!!!!! The House is immaculate, with an accent of Eclectic style and attention to detail!! Owners, Kristine and Thierry could not have been more helpful!!

The bedroom is quite spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. Parking was easy( a small parking lot steps away from the house). Kristine 's book of recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing was most helpful to concentrate of the MUST SEE places!!(We enjoyed lunching and dining at the locals ' favorites places in different villages of the region).

Walking distance from the cottage, you will find restaurants, shops, and cafés. Chez Gaby, was our favorite...where locals hang out for conversations while sharing a pastis!! Do not miss out on the Friday market in Lourmarin, we highly recommend it!!

The help and suggestions offered by Kristine made our stay memorable!! it was hard to leave this perfect Gem! We highly recommend this lovely home !! We cannot wait to be back!! Thank you!!

A perfect hidden cottage in the heart of Lourmarin

  • 5 of 5

Amelie is all that the prospectus promises and more. Behind a flaking blue wooden door at the end of the main street in Lourmarin is a lovely little courtyard, hidden from the world outside, but just in touch with the sounds and life of this lovely Luberon town. The cottage is perfect for two people – it is a bit like the Tardis; it seems small, but all you need is cunningly tucked away and there is a big welcoming bed and many stylistic touches. There is an excellent restaurant literally on the doorstep and many more within five minute's walk, along with a boulangerie and two small supermarkets, not to mention the magnificent Friday market that almost overwhelms you with its cornucopia of produce. Half day drives will take you through the wonders of the Grand and Petit Luberon villages. Do not miss Oppede le Vieux. Meanwhile Kristine will be a most charming multilingual landlady with a wealth of local information, especially about the best places to eat. There is plenty of parking in the vicinity, but although you are almost in the heart of the town it is a haven of peace.
