We could not be more pleased in selecting this cabin on the river. The deck is perfect. The cabin is perfect for a couple (and their dog who loved the deck). We cannot wait to come back.

River House is a quiet little hideaway on the McKenzie River in central Oregon. It really is right on the river. You can stand in the bedroom and swear you are on a houseboat as the river lazily flows by. There is plenty to do in the area in fine outdoor Oregon fashion, and coming home to rest your bones on the outdoor back-porch chairs facing the river is a wonderful way to end the day. The home is friendly and accommodating. Other reviews mentioned the bed, but we found it to be firm and very comfortable.
Comfortable, clean, quiet, and charming
Third time stayed here, and I'll be back again. Perfect for a quiet getaway, everything you need, nothing you don't.
Exactly the relaxing weekend I was hoping for. The cabin is comfortable, clean, right on the river. The porch is everything I had hoped it would be. The kitchen had everything I needed it to have. The heater on the porch was treat.
The property is beautiful and does literally sit right on the river. The setting is ideal. Coming from Las Vegas to the beautiful river setting surrounded by trees makes it even more spectacular. The sound of the river in the comfortable bed will ensure good rest. The location is perfectly centered and nearby to many musty waterfalls and scenic drives. The host of the River House was especially kind and resourceful. We have already recommended this exact house under his management to several friends looking to escape the heat of the desert.
We had an incredible time staying at the river house. The proximity to the river was amazing and we really enjoyed all the sights and sounds of the river.
The cabin is amazing and the water is close enough to almost touch:) I loved this place so much, I almost considered offering a trade for my three bedroom two bath home! Stopped short but let me tell you it’s a beautiful place! Host is very responsive.
Absolute gem. Very cozy. Loved the neighborhood. Will likely return again and will definitely recommend to our friends and family. Only wish there were more restaurant options nearby.
