Immaculate home and peaceful setting

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay. It was the perfect base from which to explore Yosemite with our two teenagers. It was an hour or an hour 15 min. to Yosemite Valley. If we arrived before 10 am parking was no problem, but this was weekdays. After a long day of exploring Yosemite it was so nice to get out of the crowds and relax here. The house was very clean and fully stocked with whatever we needed, including a gas grill. There are baskets of toys/games for all ages including Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly. The lower level has a game room with air hockey and darts but we didn't use these. There is also a large TV on the lower level. On the lower level there are two futon beds in the game room. The main level bedrooms are large with closets. We did not use all of this but I assume it's convenient for some families. From the house to the grocery store is a 5 min. drive and it's a fully stocked fairly large store with anything you could want including organic produce. Our kids enjoyed playing pool in the Iron Door Saloon in Groveland. We also swam in the pool, rented a Hobie Cat sailboat from the marina and rented fishing gear so the kids could fish in the lake off the dock. The whole community is tree filled and shady. The community pool is warm with a fantastic view of the surrounding hills. Tony Shaw responded to any questions I had immediately, whether by text or email. The property was exactly as described.

Wonderful vacation home for our trip to Yosemite

  • 4 of 5

This home was perfect for our family of four to use as a home base during our vacation in Yosemite. The beds were comfortable, the game room in the basement was a fun distraction in the evenings when we were home from the park, and the grill worked perfectly for the one meal we cooked at home. It took less than ten minutes to drive through the PML community and get to the main road in Groveland. It does take one and a half hours to get to the valley floor in Yosemite, but we knew that before we booked here. This house definitely met our expectations and we would recommend others to this property.

Easy drive to Yosemite

  • 2 of 5

The purpose of our travel was to visit Yosemite. Pine Mountain Lake is a nice area with easy access to the park. Our visit was somewhat spoiled in dealing with the owner and property management/cleaning company regarding the terms of my contact, specifically regarding cleaning. My rental agreement specified that I was to properly dispose of trash, wash and dry the towels, and leave the house in an orderly condition. Upon arrival, the welcome letter added additional cleaning duties of stripping the beds, putting those linens in the laundry room, wiping the counters, and loading and running the dishwasher. Keeping in mind I was also paying a cleaning fee, I found this excessive. It took several texts and calls over the course of three days before the matter of cleaning duties was worked out. The property management was quick to say honor the contract, but dealing with the owner was more challenging. I wish that I had read comments further back in 2016 and late 2015 that also referred to this. The home was well furnished and clean, except for the patio which seemed to not have been maintained in sometime. During our visit the temperate was in the upper 80s. To keep the house comfortable on the upper floor, the lower level living area was too cold for our comfort and game room/garage too hot. The couch in the upper living area is older and uncomfortable, so we were confined to the kitchen and bedrooms. I will echo another comment regarding the lack of proper lighting throughout the house for any evening reading unless done at the kitchen table. The master bedroom receives the morning sun. The windows do not have drapes over the blinds, thus our days began earlier than we wanted.

Owner's Response: It is unfortunate we did not meet your expectations. We try to accommodate all renters. In this case the renter had special needs that no fabric softeners be used on towels and linens and no air fresheners be in the home. These needs were met and carpets cleaned using green products. It is unfortunate the detailed list left as instructions to renters as a guide as to how to leave the house was such a concern. The PML area is remote and having an excellent cleaning company is of utmost importance. We use a small family owned business who is also available to help the renter should there be any problems. In regards to the living room sofa which the renter found uncomfortable, we have 3 additional upholstered chairs available for comfortable TV viewing. The Pineview home has central air which works well and is controlled by a thermostat in the main living area upstairs. We pride ourselves in offering a clean comfortable home to rent at an affordable rate and supply all towels, linens and washer and dryer with detergent for our renters convenience. As all previous reviews attest, we communicate effectively with our renters and strive to meet their needs and requests.

Home was exactly as advertised; fully equipped kitchen, marvelous AC, awesome play room downstairs

  • 5 of 5

1st impression, clean (which is important for the wife). Home had everything including a game room which was great for the days we decided to just stay in.

Downstairs also had a den which my daughter liked.

Besides the comfortable beds and soft, thick towels, the central AC was really great to come home to, especially after spending all day in Yosemite. It was June so days were warm but nights were nice.

Great location for visiting Yosemite. Near to Walmart and Safeway. Gated community. We will definitely stay here again should we ever come back to Yosemite.

Lastly, the owner Tony was very helpful and fully reachable. We got turned around and couldn't find the place, I made a call to Tony (at night) and he was able to talk me to the house.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We booked this house because it was close to Yosemite but didn't have the Yosemite prices. Boy what a great house! The house is very comfortable and well-stocked with pretty much everything you could need. There wee plenty of dishes, utensils and home items including soap, trash bags, etc which were greatly appreciated. We opted to shop at the local market (a bit pricey) but saved by cooking and eating at the house. Our kids LOVED the game room and loved the double queen bunk beds even more!! It was nice for two TV / sitting areas to allow more flexibility in what everyone wants to watch. The house is clean and is well-kept. The driveway is very steep, we did not walk down it as we did enough hiking daily for our exercise. The association pool was nice as well - a bit confusing as you actually leave the community and then have to go bi back in Through the main gate. Loved the time we had at the house, very relaxing and quiet. If we come back out west, will definitely come back to this house!! Thank you!!
