Take the stairs down from the deck to the back/side yard with another picnic table, charcoal grill, and firepit area.
This cabin has an unbuilt lot on either side and nobody behind which gives it a great feeling of privacy and seclusion, even though it's very conveniently close to the village!
Wildlife viewing opportunities are common, with elk, deer, turkeys, and hummingbirds making appearances.

Access is easy and direct from the Village along a well maintained, level road, so access is good year round with most regular vehicles, although 4WD/AWD is recommended in the winter. Off street parking is provided for up to two vehicles on the pull-through driveway. It's an easy half mile walk, drive, or bike ride to the center of town to enjoy the restaurants, shops, and recreational opportunities. Go for a hike or mountain bike ride, or play a round of golf at the Lodge immediately up the hill.
Required disclosure: There is one security camera on the front of the cabin, which looks out at the driveway and street. It is used to assess weather and snow conditions for plowing. It has no visibility into any interior or exterior living space. It is continuously on.

Beautiful city! Great cabin! Amazing views. This was the perfect cabin for our week in the mountains to enjoy cool weather. We will definitely be back and plan to stay in this cabin when we do!
What we especially like is the deck and its view. We've stayed more than once to be able to enjoy this - I uploaded a picture of the big dipper that we were able to capture from the deck during our last stay.
This place and owner was amazing!!! We stayed with 4 guys for a job we were on. Very spacious, very clean, price was great, neighbors were awesome, wildlife was hanging out, all around fantastic.
This cabin is in a great location, close to Burro Streer. It has great views from the deck. I will say the views are not unobstructed though because the power lines run right across the back. The sunsets were amazing though. Luke was very responsive and I a great host. We will be back!
We enjoy the hiking trails in Cloudcroft and this cabin was a good combo of being close to the town area and trail heads, but what really drew us was the view from the deck. We spent most of our cabin time out there, especially at sunset.
We had an amazing time in Cloudcroft and staying in this wonderful cabin. The sunset views from the patio were stunning, and our 3 kids loved exploring around outside. The house is cozy, spacious, and clean; perfect for our family of 5. There is no A/C but plenty of fans and leaving the windows open at night made it very comfortable. The cabin is walking distance to town and the historic Lodge hotel and golf course. I highly recommend this property!

We are glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for the kind review.
Our stay at Black Bear Cabin in Cloudcroft was just what the doctor ordered after 8 days of cross country travel (moving). The sunset views each evening were stunning and the location was ideal for walking to golf or grab sweet treats in Cloudcroft.
The house was absolutely perfect for my family’s Thanksgiving break! We were there for a whole week and made a huge thanksgiving meal! House has everything you need. Views were breathtaking. Wood burning stove warms the house great. We will definitely be booking again.
Thank you Luke fornsharing your beautiful home with us. My family and I had a wondeful time at Black Bear cabin. It is clean, well stocked, and extremely convient. We were able to take a short walk to the main areas of town.
However, the main draw was the amazing sunset views from the huge deck.
We look forward to returning sometime soon.
Black Bear Cabin is just as advertised. It's conveniently located near Cloudcroft, yet very peaceful. We enjoyed the spacious common area and deck. One recommendation...put a couple of umbrellas out near the large table on the deck. It's really exposed and can get hot in the afternoon sun. Overall we highly recommend the place!
Our recent stay at this rental home was an absolute delight! The home offered a wonderful sense of peace. We found it easy to relax and unwind, whether we were enjoying a morning coffee on the patio or settling in for an evening. One of the standout features was the abundance of space for everyone. We never felt cramped or on top of each other. There were plenty of comfortable common areas for us to gather, as well as everyone having their own rooms for individual quiet time. Overall, this rental home exceeded our expectations.
Not only was the house well suited to our family, but also the mountain view, snow play in the yard, and wildlife awesome.
Several times we even walked to the town square through the snow covered streets which reminded us of visiting Austria.
It was very evident that the hosts take care in making guests stay great, and we look forward to returning.
We love the property. It has the best view from the deck. We really enjoyed getting away from the West Texas heat. The place was clean, however there was a musty smell on the lower level. There were no batteries in some of the remotes and we couldn't find the remote for the T.V. in the main bedroom. We had a really good time and would stay again.
Nice cabin. Three levels. Close to town. Very large back deck with great sunset views. The owner immediately responds to any questions. We saw elk several mornings grazing in the side yard. The only con is the traffic noise that can be heard from the back deck since it overlooks a two lane highway.
This was a lovely property for our family of four, but could have easily added another couple. Lots of space and comfortable beds. The location is perfect and close to town, but also far enough away that you feel secluded. Bring a few extra cooking supplies, if you’re planning on mostly cooking meals yourself and be prepared to do your dishes or bring some paper goods. All rooms have little electric wall heaters that work well. Part of the house gets pretty cold in the winter mornings, but the wood burning stove is lovely, if you can get it going. Consider bringing your own kindling/paper, if you plan to. Lots of extra firewood provided though. No doubt, we will enjoy checking it out in the summer as well!
The cabin really was in one of the best locations in the village. The view can’t be beat. We walked to town every day via the path in the back of the cabin. There is also a driveway, whereas most other cabins on the street do not have that luxury.
The only thing I’d recommend is that the hosts replace some of the fans. There are a few that just don’t blow well…so the cabin rooms did get very warm. The loft room was always too hot to use. I’m sure this is a rare occurrence as it’s not typically over 80 degrees (like it was this week).
I’d love to come back in the colder months, because I bet the temp is awesome. We would love to visit Cloudcroft again, and would book this cabin in a heartbeat. Thank you!
We stayed 3 nights with one toddler and 4 adults. The shared space in this cabin is wonderful - big dining table and nice kitchen for family meals. Nice area to hang out and some games keeping us entertained. The master is also wonderful and the upstairs single worked well for my mom, would be great for a tween or teen also. The downstairs room was a little cramped for the two adults and one kiddo but I think it would work great for just kids especially or just a couple. The hot water had a little trouble keeping up with full baths for a toddler but worked fine for staggered showers. It was rainy all weekend and we were so happy to have this lovely spot that was warm and comfy in between our short excursions!
This is a nice property with beautiful views from the deck and through the windows. Easy to get to and close to shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay!
This is a great, very clean cabin for a family! The open area is very spacious for everyone to gather. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare a meal! The very best part of this cabin is the deck! The views are amazing and the afternoon sun hits it perfectly! This cabin exceeded all our expectations!
