I have stayed at this cottage twice now, and I plan to again in the future. It is convenient to the state park and to town. It is right on the canal and has a great view. It was only me staying there, so I had more room than I needed, but I loved looking out at the water while I had my morning coffee at the little counter in front of the picture window. It is really clean and well equipped. I recommend this cottage to anyone looking for peace, quiet, and the beauty of nature.

Wonderful place to relax with a great view. The bed was very comfortable. My favorite spot was sitting on that porch and relaxing. Very convenient to many activities. I would definitely stay here again

I wanted to stay in a special place for my 50th class reunion. Because I grew up just over the hill from this cabin. this location was ideal. Everything was perfect for me. I went to sleep every night to the sound of the canal. Probably one of my favorite parts was how comfortable the bed was! I hope I can return another time.

This is one of the most outstanding properties in the Copper Country. My wife and I are third generation Hancock natives and had our own cottage next store ( in the family for 85 years). We are also both MTU graduates. This cottage is a gem.

The water view for the week was so beautiful the entire time we were there. The place is small but cozy. This cottage was clean, quiet and a perfect distance from the park our family was staying at. We had a great time Yooper rock hunting and blueberry picking. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway go to the Nordic Spa at Mt. Bohemia it’s worth your time and money. We will definitely rent this place again!

This is a beautiful spot from which to enjoy the Portage Lake which included the fourth of July fireworks display from the little village of Oscar across the water. It was astounding, beautiful! and quiet!

The cottage is very well appointed, including little pleasant surprises we didn't expect. It is unassuming from the road, but the river view is spectacular, especially during peak autumn leaf color season. It is outside Hancock-Houghton, but a very easy trip in for dinners and supplies. A nice home base for the Keweenaw Peninsula. The only thing we didn't know was that the tall safety marker in the river in view of the cottage blinked rapidly all night. However, closing the curtains in the main bedroom at night took care of that handily. Overall and in detail, a great place to stay! PS - I got a message from the owner after we left that I had left some laundry in the dryer, and she is willing to send it to me. What a relief, as we left early in the morning, and would not have been able to go back for it!
