We have stayed here now five times with family and friends as we take in all of the wonder of winter in the park. It’s cozy and clean and has everything we need and it has become like a little second home to us. Every time there is great communication with the folks managing the property and wonderful flexibility. And this is our fifth year having unbelievable experiences with wolves. Thank you! We will be back!

Winter in the Lamar Valley is such a special time of year, and we love hearing that you’ve had incredible wildlife sightings, especially with wolves. Great Cabin with close proximity to Yellowstone, While exploring the area and talking to a few neighbors I heard nothing but great things about the property owners. If I come back to Yellowstone I would stay here again.
Wonderful space for our family to stay! Had separate sleeping area for everyone which was great. Was surprised by the close proximity of lots of cabins, which caused things to be noisy a couple evenings. Overall, it was a great home base for exploring Yellowstone, and the hosts were very nice.
The property was beautiful! Location amazing literally minutes from the NE gate entrance. The place to be for animal viewing. Both moose and bear in town.
The cabin is super nice and clean and in a great location just outside the Yellowstone Northeast Entrance. A small general store, a cafe, and a lounge are within walking distance and very convenient after spending a day in the park. We saw moose almost right across the street and it was a short drive to Lamar Valley where we saw mountain goats, grizzly bears, black bears, pronghorn antelope, and tons of bison. The property manager Karen is awesome and attentive. We would definite recommend.
The cabin was comfortable for 5 guys staying to snowmobile with just a short 3 mile ride to Cooke and a few more minutes to the main trail.

Lamar Cabin was great, well constructed, equipped very well, supplied very well, great location (within a mile of the Yellowstone gate), quiet, nice large refrigerator for those extended stays. Would stay again!
Karen was so easy to communicate with! She gave wonderful recommendations for things around. It was great to be so close to a Yellowstone entrance, but to have prices of things be so reasonable too.
Cabin was spotless, quite spacious, close to NE entrance to Yellowstone and numerous trails/Lamar Valley, within walking distance to beautiful small town of Silver Gate and quick drive to Cooke City. Property manager was easily contacted and very helpful. We loved staying here and hope to return.
This is the perfect cabin to enjoy northern Yellowstone and the Gallatin. Perfectly suited for 5 adults and we didn’t even use the loft beds. It’s our second visit and we’ll be back.
Our family chose to stay at the Lamar Cabin for a family reunion/vacation. The location makes it ideal for visiting the park and enjoying the quiet atmosphere of Silver Gate. There was plenty of room for everyone, the amenities are great, and cabin is very comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here and I will be staying again in the future.
What a wonderful property. I underestimated how great Silver Gate would be. Beartooth and Red Lodge one way and Yellowstone the other way. Absolutely perfect.
Everything worked out well. Cabin had plenty of room for everyone to find their own space.

Jeff is an award-winning wildlife filmmaker whose work has been featured by organizations such as National Geographic and the BBC. With over three decades of experience filming wildlife around the world, he brings an intimate understanding of Yellowstone’s landscapes and animal behavior—often capturing moments rarely witnessed in the wild.
Karen Hogan, an artist and designer, led the design of the cabins, bringing a refined, intentional approach to each space. Drawing on her background in the arts, she created interiors that feel both elevated and deeply connected to the surrounding landscape—balancing simplicity, warmth, and functionality. Every detail reflects a thoughtful commitment to comfort, beauty, and a sense of place.
The cabins reflect their combined vision—offering a space that is both refined and deeply rooted in the surrounding landscape. Based between Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Silver Gate, Montana, they have chosen this location for its proximity to Lamar Valley and its extraordinary access to wildlife and wilderness.
Why they chose this property
We were drawn to Silver Gate for its sense of stillness and its closeness to everything that makes Yellowstone extraordinary. Just one mile from the Northeast Entrance and minutes from Lamar Valley, it offered the rare opportunity to be deeply connected to the landscape—where wildlife, open space, and quiet mornings define the experience.
What makes this property unique
Many homes in the area offer sleeping in an open and/or a sofa bed. We offer the privacy of a separate room bedroom. The original studio cabin was built in 2009, and a two bedroom addition added in 2016. Quality finishes and furnishings throughout. Large windows bring the outdoors in. The master bedroom has a romantic, very bright cheerful quality with an attached balcony. Indoor layout of the cabin allows privacy between rooms. The cabin was built with two full sized bedrooms, and one smaller bunkroom to accommodate children.
