We had a great time at this perfect location to explore Lamar Valley in Yellowstone. We also had a curious visitor during our stay. If I can figure out how to post a picture of the cute little fox, I will.

The whole process was very smooth. The owner sent emails at appropriate times to inform me of the check in process. The cabin was beautiful and well accommodated with every essential. It is way better than staying in a motel. There were no surprises… except for a friendly local Red Fox that kept us entertained. I will stay here again.

The property had exactly what we wanted after long days of exploring the park and the beartooth highway. Hot water and great water pressure in the shower ;) The setup and sleeping arrangements were perfect for our family.

Very close to Yellowstone northeast entrance which was less crowded than the rest of the park. There were 2 good restaurants in nearby Cooke City. We loved the small town atmosphere.

Mountain Retreat

Loved our stay here. Great location, rustic cabin but had all the creature comforts we could want. Perfect jumping off point to the Lamar Valley. Only regret is that we did not stay longer.

Great location for NE Yellowstone

Totally enjoyed our stay at this beautiful mountain home! Great location to Yellowstone. Very spacious, cozy and comfortable. Good internet. Everything was great, however, we did have some trouble checking in and finding the place. Once we contacted the owner he was very helpful and friendly.

A well treed property but not isolated or remote, at all. Three other cabins and some kind of open-air storage building were feet away. The most off-putting part of the property was the presence of the owner’s personal belongings filling every corner (literally) of the cabin: bedroom closet and bureau were filled with clothing; hangers/pegs for jackets by front door hung owners foul-weather gear. We don’t live out of suitcases on vacation, so I moved hanging clothing onto a bed in the loft. Pantry, cabinets and refrigerator’s freezer were all filled with owner’s personal perishable and non-perishable foods. Our provisions for the week were relegated to stacks on the dining table, some free space in the freezer and the refrigerator. Additionally, basic (printed) instructions for location of the bear-proof exterior garbage can, proper use of audio/video, or heating system in the main part of the house (living room, kitchen dining area) were nonexistent…temps at night ranged from mid-30’s to 40’s. Frankly, the cabin set-up was more like one might expect, for a short-fused, weekend visit to a friend’s house, rather than a rental “vacation cabin” reserved a year in advance. We will not rent this property again and cannot recommend it to my friends and family.The one bright spot regarding the cabin was the property agent: Sidney. She was excellent and answered my multiple questions upon checking in and ongoing questions during the week.

Very convenient to NE Yellowstone entrance

Unfortunately we didn't get to see any large wildlife during our stay but the stars were wonderful. Wish we had had time to spend on the deck but our days in the park were just too long.

Lamar Valley get away

Loved the in person property check in and interaction. Cabin was beautiful and comfy. Needs a little more cleaning top to bottom, otherwise had everything we needed. We would come back again, great location for Lamar Valley.

Yellowstone Excursion

We had a wonderful time, again. The cabin was in a great spot just minutes from the north east entrance. Cabin was very tidy and fully furnished as indicated. We couldn’t be more happy.

What a great location to base a visit to Yellowstone and the Beartooths. The cabin is off the beaten path just a bit, but is a spacious cabin that's quiet, warm and has a comfortable decore matching its name as the "Wolf Crossing". The kitchen was well equipped and stocked. The location allows for easy access to the park and nearby amenities. We had no problem accessing Wi-Fi. While on our visit we saw a fox just outside the cabin --- giving credence that the area is full wildlife and allowing those that want to visit the chance to reconnect with nature and the outdoors. Had a great time and a great stay in a very cool modern but rustic cabin!

Now I know I could live in a log cabin!Perfect base for visiting the Lamar Valley and beyond within the National Park.We arrived very late due to flight delay and there was some misinformation about which cabin we were in but once that was sorted, we really enjoyed our stay.A very peaceful location.Only suggestion for improvement would be a wider range of kitchen utensils but we managed as a family of 5.Would have liked to have had more time there and wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Great location, family home feel.

Silver Gate, like most areas adjacent to an exceptional park, is getting spiffed up! New owners at the Cafe are making a great start- menu remains pretty much the same- food is very good, large portions! New to us is Great Wulff with the Hemingway theme- an excellent sophisticated menu and thoughtful, well stocked bar. Cabin is far enough back from busy #212-no road noise, comfortable beds surrounded by forest.

The cabin was nice and in a good location. However, we found a mouse the first night. It ate through our Oreo cookie package. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen. The toaster oven was disgusting and there was a lot of building junk outside. BTW: I saw the mouse!

Little Cabin in the Woods

Nice cabin with everything you need. John the caretaker was very helpful. We had ants, he sprayed and we put ant traps out and got that taken care of. John told us all of the great places to go. We had a great time. Go see the waterfall!

The location is perfect. The property meet our needs for the amount of time we were there. Hot tub was not up slightly disappointed. Dryer took forever to dry clothes. Over all not bad.

Silvergate stay

This property was in a beautiful location. The quality of the cabin was not great. You could see outside between the walls of the cabin and roof. It was pretty infested with spiders. The fact that there was personal clothing items still in the cabin was a little disturbing. The cleanliness or lack there of was evident. Would not stay again by choice

The cabin wasn’t bad..pretty cozy actually. But there were cobwebs everywhere (only one or two spiders). The shower needs a deep cleaning, and the mattresses upstairs were like sleeping on boards. I didn’t mind the mattress in the main bedroom, but it gave my husband a backache. The dryer needs maintenance (squeaks like crazy for the first severe minutes). I didn’t see any mouse droppings. Cabin is in a great location…a 10-minute walk to Silver Gate. It’s a fairly quiet area, and we felt safe the whole time.
