Great location and beautiful spacious outdoor space! Azure Grotto is part of the 9 unit Battery Hill Condominiums in Cruz Bay. Situated on the top of the hill near Gallows Point above Cruz Bay, this condo boasts beautiful views of the Pillsbury sound and Cruz Bay town. It is a very relaxing and private way to enjoy tropical living at its best. Azure Grotto has a newly renovated bath and kitchen too! Walk to ferry, shopping and dining. Beautifully maintained Battery Hill with lush landscaping is just a 5-10 minute walk from downtown with a wide range of restaurant choices and shopping experiences.

Azure Grotto's most unique feature in this complex is the amazing L-shaped deck and covered porch featuring a dining area and lounge area with cooling ocean breezes and a sunning deck. The master bedroom's French doors open to the sun deck with tropical views. This unit is very private and lush and just steps away from the sunny pool area with amazing harbor and ocean views. Conveniently located gas grill and complimentary laundry are available for your use.

Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and bedroom 2 has two twin beds that can convert to a king upon request. Their is a spacious renovated tiled bathroom . The kitchen is also newly renovated with new appliances and is well appointed. The comfortable, updated Island decorated living area has cable Smart TV and high speed wireless internet and is stocked with games and books. Open the double french doors in the living room to the covered porch and deck. This unit is shaded and there are ceiling fans and throughout every room. Both bedrooms and living room are equipped with AC units if needed. Battery Hill has private onsite parking and is just a short walk to town. Taxis are available if you prefer not to rent a car.

Our experienced on island property manager is available 24/7. They will arrange a virtual check in at your convenience, and will share all you need to know about Azure Grotto at Battery Hill. They will share an orientation of the unit, the common areas, and St John. They are available to help with any details or questions regarding your stay on St John.

Beautiful views perfect location!

My husband & I have been to St. John a few times, so we’re pretty familiar with the area. This time, we brought our teens & needed more space for our crew. This condo was perfection! Plenty of space, amazing wraparound porch with doors right off the main bedroom (our favorite coffee spot) and a beautiful covered area with string lights for nightcaps. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and had basic spices in the cabinet. Both bedrooms have sound machines & box fans. We rented a jeep, so getting around wasn’t an issue for us. The condo is in walking distance to the center of town, but just know it is a bit of an uphill hike upon your return. We had the shared pool to ourselves most of the time. It was clean & offered both sun loungers & shade. We appreciated the fact that beach chairs & ice chests were provided during our stay. We would definitely recommend this unit!

Wonderful stay

This was such a wonderful stay for our girls trip.The location was perfect to “downtown” where all the shops and restaurants are. (I will add that while it is a short distance you will have to walk up/down quite a steep hill). The property was nice as it had community beach chairs you could borrow and coming back from hitting the beaches it was nice to relax in the pool. The condo itself was also wonderful. The covered patio was nice as it rained most days in the afternoon for a little bit and the deck was wonderful for sitting out at night overlooking the bay. Everything was very clean and had everything you needed. The beds were comfortable. It was nice to have air-conditioning units in both rooms that we ran at night. While you can hear the noise from downtown if you are a light sleeper there was a white noise machine that you could run which definitely helped! Overall, this was a great stay and would definitely stay again here in the future.

Great location in Cruz Bay

This property is excellent. Fantastic view of Cruz bay and walkable to Cruz bay. The hills to walk are steep but as long you are active they won't be a problem. Will book again!

We had an absolutely wonderful time. This condo is very convenient, it was clean, safe, quiet and communications with property manager was good. The pool was nice and was located right outside our condo which was a plus! We would definitely recommend!!!

Family / adults holiday

Our group of 4, enjoyed the property including the private outdoor covered patio and seating area with beautiful views. We loved to have our morning coffee and enjoy the view. We enjoyed the pool as well and the proximity to the restaurants in Cruz Bay and the taxis to the beaches. We didn’t rent a car and the location was great to walk to restaurants and the taxi stand. We enjoyed the property!

Great location

We stayed at Rainbow’s End for two weeks.We really enjoyed the small two bed room, beachy condo. We had the windows open the whole time as the breeze was so nice. The condo was very comfortable and perfect for what we were looking for. The location was ideal as it was a short walk to all the restaurants in Cruz Bay. We enjoyed the hill as it was a little workout after eating. If you can’t handle hills, this wouldn’t be the place for you. Battery Hill also had nice amenities such as the pool, the pool deck overlooking Cruz Bay, laundry, and beach chairs. We plan to go in again next year for two weeks as the location was just ideal. We also rented a jeep for the two weeks and the parking was a nice amenity.

Great condo close to Cruz Bay

Everything you need to fully enjoy St. John is thoughtfully included in this condo. The location is close enough to walk to town, but I would recommend getting a rental Jeep. The condo itself is very clean and includes everything you need while staying in St. John. I highly recommend this condo and would stay here again.

This was a beautiful spot. The outdoor area was so pretty. The pool was beautiful. We walked in to town every night for dinner. The walk back up the hill was very doable

BEWARE OF ROACHES

My family ended up cutting our stay short after finding multiple roaches. The first one showed up on the air conditioner. We killed it and after looking for others, found a dead one near the doors to the deck. We let the property manager know. They condescending told us that the "cockroaches" are palmetto bugs, which, after a quick Google search, is just another name for cockroach. They made it sound like it was common to come across a cockroach, but assured us that the unit gets sprayed for pests. We decided to just try and rest but I was awokened in the middle of the night to my wife telling me she saw two more cockroaches in the hallway. We would definitely not stay here again. We were able to get a partial refund for the nights we didn't stay here.

Great location and amenities

I loved the proximity to Cruz Bay. This was a great place to stay to take day trips around St John and nearby islands. We didn’t rent a car and getting around was easy. The pool is lovely, as is the lanai. St John has some significant energy blackouts during our trip, so the pool provided a great place to cool off.

Great choice during winter for people with a car

The property was fully equipped and in great shape with plenty of room for a couple or a larger group. It was nice having access to the pool, beach chairs, grill and laundry. We stayed during a very hot time by St John standards, and I expect the condo would be more comfortably cooled by breezes if it wasn't so hot, The property is designed for people with a car, as has lots of parking but is not easily walkable to most places, typically 10-15 minutes one way with some really long and steep hills.

Amazing Week of Beaches and Snorkeling

The property is exactly as shown. We started our days with coffee on the pool deck over-looking Cruz Bay. Beach chairs, cooler, and beach bag were all provided. We hit the beaches early every day. We returned in late afternoon to de-brief by the pool with other people staying at the condo. Walked to town for dinner and breakfast a couple times. Would definitely stay here again. Communication with host was excellent. She even mailed a pair of earings to us my daughter had forgotten.

Beautiful space with great shady outdoor areas and walked to town location with a couple steep hills

We loved this property. Very comfortable with great wraparound deck with plenty of shade and comfortable seating. There was only a small view of the water at Cruise Bay because the trees below have kind of grown to block the better, but it was plenty for us after a full day at the . The kitchen was perfect size for two people, was well-equipped and the beautiful half-shaded pool was just a few steps outside our door The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated air-conditioning in the bedrooms. we did find the window units to be a little loud but you get used to that. All in all this was a great value, comfortable place to stay, very helpful servicing, with a light touch of live beach bar music every evening (but not too loud). We loved it and would stay here again. We also enjoyed watching the family of large iguanas in the tree below the deck….amazing!

Oustanding property; great host

This home is in a really well-kept community with shared laundry, a pool, parking, and great views from the shared pool/deck. The unit itself was clean and spacious, perfect for our family of 3 adults (would work also for 4 adults quite well). The outdoor spaces were well furnished and spacious and the covered area was great on the rainy morning and when the sun was hot, though we were rarely at home during the day. Unit was exceptionally clean and was well-outfitted with things like fans and extension cords, games, and coolers and beach chairs. The property owner and manager were outstanding communicators and the entire process was so efficient. The location is a (albeit hilly) walk to restaurants and entertainment. Driving in St. John has its challenges but if you plan to do more than stay at home or go to Cruz Bay area, you'll want your own vehicle. Host provided excellent recommendations for activities, dining, and more! If we return to the island, we will absolutely request this property again!

A nice stay

It’s a nice building, two room place and scenic vistas. I spent little time on the deck but the pool deck is so close and very nice. The pool is very nice but virtually unusable as it’s too cold unheated at this time. The location is up a few steep hills, that worked for us but some may hate it. Very well kept property and they were making updates on our visit.

Outstanding Home Base for a Visit to St. John

My family loved our stay here. The unit was exactly as described in the listing. Very comfortable and well appointed. High marks for the inside space, the outside deck space, and the pool shared with the rest of complex. Cynthia was very helpful all along the way. Definitely recommend renting a jeep while you are on the island.

We are a family of six and recently moved to Cape Cod after 30 years in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington DC. We have very busy lives and Rainbows End in Cruz Bay is our escape...a small piece of paradise where you can relax and enjoy the breathtaking outdoors, and we love sharing it with others! It only took us a few visits to St. John with our children to quickly realize St John was a place we would always return to. We love the relaxing peace and beauty of the island and the great vibrant restaurants of Cruz Bay! Hiking and snorkeling off the white sand beaches are by far our favorite activities...there is no place on earth like St. John!

Rainbows End is a very private unit with GREAT outdoor space, both covered space for your morning coffee or an evening night cap as well as open space for private sunbathing! The complex pool is just a few steps away....it is a private grotto with all the amenities needed in close proximity!
