Just minutes away from Acadia National Park, this 3BR/2.5BA home is the perfect home base for your coastal getaway. This two-story, cottage-style home boasts contemporary furnishings and plenty of space to unwind in two living rooms and dining areas. It’s just a 5-minute drive to Long Pond and Echo Lake. Local eateries and shops are right outside your door.

LIVING AREAS

The living room is furnished with a comfy couch and two armchairs. Kick back and watch a movie on the flat-screen TV.

In the basement, a second living room is outfitted with two love seats and two armchairs. The 60” TV is equipped with Apple TV and a surround sound system.

KITCHEN & DINING

You’ll feel right at home in a well-equipped kitchen adorned with charming farmhouse fixtures. As dinner simmers on the stove, enjoy a crisp drink at the kitchen bar with seating for two.

Serve home-cooked meals at the six-person dining table. There’s a second dining table with seating for eight in the basement.

BEDROOMS & BATHS

This two-story home sleeps up to eight guests in three bedrooms.

Sleep soundly in the master bedroom, featuring a king bed, an armchair, and deck access. Adjacent, a bathroom is appointed with a walk-in shower.

The second bedroom has a king bed, while the third bedroom is furnished with a twin-over-full bunk bed and a twin-over-twin bunk bed. The second bathroom has a tub/shower combination.

A half bath in the basement provides added convenience.

OUTDOOR AREAS

Step out onto the deck to take in vistas of the lush pine trees.

Below, the patio is equipped with a grill.

THE LOCATION

Your retreat is in a prime location for outdoor adventures. The Long Pond Trailhead and Echo Lake Beach are both just a 6-minute drive and offer swimming, hiking, and kayaking. Seawall Acadia National Park (with trail access) is an 8-minute drive away. And the Sargent Mountain Trailhead in scenic Acadia National Park is a 15-minute drive.

This home is just steps away from the eateries, shops, and pubs in Southwest Harbor.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Beautifully decorated home, had everything we needed, and way more spacious than we expected. The photos don’t do it justice!This Home is in a great location, walkable to coffee, shops, restaurants, and gift shops. Truly a hidden gem here. Property management company was very responsive and able to help with any issues we had in a timely manner. Would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay! The house had plenty of space for our family, with two separate sleeping/bathroom areas that gave everyone privacy. There’s also lots of common space for connecting, playing games, and spending time together. We didn’t use the basement, but it offers a big TV area and even more room to spread out. A great spot for families or groups! Also a great neighborhood and walkable to all Southwest Harbor has to offer.

Stay with multi-generational family

We stayed here with 2 seniors, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. There was enough space for all of us and plenty of kitchen tools for cooking meals. We liked the location and being able to walk to Southwest Harbor. The bathrooms were dated but worked okay. The door lock code is especially long and difficult to use when you are coming back at night.

This is a charming home with plenty of space! Very clean and only 1 block from the shops and restaurants. Acadia is practically at your doorstep! Highly recommend and if we come back will stay here. Thanks for sharing your home!

Perfect getaway!

What a fantastic place to stay in the heart of Southwest Harbor! We have been to Mount Desert Island many times, and were looking for a place away from the crowds. This place was perfect - walking distance to restaurants and shops, but quiet too. The space is so well-thought out and comfortable. It was larger than we needed with 2 people, but we did appreciate the grill and well-appointed kitchen, as well as eating options. One of the best VRBO's we've ever stayed in!

Charming Home in Southwest Harbor

At first sight we were impressed as the lights were on and very welcoming! The downstairs was a great area with family room and large dining table in a separate room. All bedrooms could be closed off by separate doors what a plus when traveling with a baby! Nicely furnished throughout! Location was perfect, walking distance to restaurants and some stores. Would stay here again with family!

Everything we needed for a comfortable stay

Thank you to our hosts for providing just about every amenity we could have asked for. The house was very clean when we arrived, and we had no trouble getting in using the key code provided. Check-out was easy, too. The house itself is pretty cool and eclectic. Obviously the hosts have a flair for design. The bedding, lighting, bathroom fixtures, and kitchen appliances were all of good quality. Plenty of towels and blankets to use! Everything was incredibly well-organized and well-supplied in the kitchen. We were only two of us plus our dog, so we didn't use the entire house - but we did spread out, especially enjoying the downstairs (basement area done up as a fully-stocked game/entertainment area). The house could comfortably accommodate kids, grandparents, etc. We'd love to come back again and bring additional guests. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a quieter option to Bar Harbor. To note: Many restaurants and shops in both Southwest Harbor and Bar Harbor close or limit their hours after the 31st of October. Next time we will visit a little earlier. Loved the Acadia Quietside Retreat!

Wonderful home!

This spacious and well-kept home was comfortable and convenient for our family! Right in the heart of downtown southwest harbor, a few doors down from delicious breakfast and other shopping/food. We would definitely stay here again!

Great house!

The house was so cutely decorated and very comfortable for our party of 5 (one toddler, one couple, and grandparents; the rooms were separated with the primary with king and its bathroom w walk-in shower perfect for the grandparents, then the other king and the bunk room with the tub/shower bathroom on the other side of the house). Would definitely recommend! Southwest Harbor was a super cute little town. Several businesses weren’t open yet but the places we did pop into were all welcoming. We got sandwiches at Little Notch Bakery (highly recommend) and did a lobster tour with Sail Acadia (great for all ages in our party).

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, the location and cleanliness of the house was excellent. The house is a short walking distance to restaurants and shops. However, the house does have significant issues that need to be addressed – 1. Refrigerator was broken when we arrived. Why didn’t the housekeeping/maintenance staff notice there was no ice being made? We had to use the freezer as our refrigerator since it was the only part of the fridge that was “cold.” We had to buy extra ice for our coolers. Maintenance staff did bring a new small dorm fridge, but it had no freezer. Why couldn’t they just bring a new full size refrigerator with a freezer? 2. The House was an old car repair garage. The master bedroom smells like used oil rags, especially when it’s warm outside. We didn’t use the basement rooms because they are musty and there was no way to connect your own devices, like a video game console for the kids. We could have aired it out by opening the basement door, but there is no screen door and bugs would get inside. It needs a dehumidifier and air freshener. The elderly toaster is broken, but we had a toaster oven as a back-up. I requested these issues to be addressed with Turnkey Operational Maintenance, but they never responded. Why weren’t these issues identified and fixed before we arrived? 3. Other issues that were fixed by maintenance – at least 7 light bulbs were out (including 2 of 3 in the kitchen and a toilet seat was loose to the point of almost falling off. Again, how was this not fixed before we arrived? 4. Internet/Wi-fi is spotty and isn’t available on occasion.5. Several doors on the main level do not stay closed, including the master bath. There are no locks on the bathroom doors. The House is within 5 feet of the road so if you keep the door open, you will smell exhaust and hear traffic. There is also no access to the beach area and no dresser or closet in th

Comfortable getaway

Property was very much as advertised - very spacious and attractive. I visited with my three kids (7-14) and we had more space than we needed! Beds were comfortable, as was the furniture in the basement family room. Location was great - about 15-20 min (with no traffic) to downtown Bar Harbor, and close to lots of great hiking trails. We were there off season, so it was very quiet, and not too many local businesses were open yet, but there was great coffee and some amazing blueberry turnovers right up the street at the Silent City/St. Druex coffee shop and great breakfast and ice cream at the Quietside Cafe. Plenty of other places within walking distance that would be open in the summer season too. Property management was very responsive when we initially had trouble accessing the WiFi - got us sorted within minutes. Overall a great stay - would have loved to have been able to stay longer!
