Cypress Cottage is a vacationer’s delight. It combines the rustic nature of historic Chincoteague with an extensive list of amenities rarely found in most rental properties today. Whether staying for a week or just a long weekend, the features included with this cottage make planning and packing for your stay as carefree as the stay itself. Please look over our amenities list and see all of the things you will not have to bring, buy or rent to make your stay special. Bikes, beach chairs and all of your linens are just a few of the great list of items we provide at Cypress Cottage.


Amenities: 2 bedrooms with queen beds, 1 bathroom with tub/shower, Full eat-in kitchen w/table that seats 6, Living room w/65” TV w/sofa and 2 armchairs, Bonus room w/double futon and 39” TV, Fenced yard, Air conditioned, Bay view, Washer & Dryer, All linens provided, sheets, blankets, pillows and towels, including beach towels, 2 Throw blankets, Propane gas grill w/cooking utensils and pans, Exterior dining table with 6 chairs, 2 adult Trek bikes with 2 helmets. 1 junior bike, Bike rack, pump, 4 beach chairs, 62 qt cooler, Beach umbrella, 12’x12’ beach canopy tent, 2 boogie boards, Beach dolly, Corn hole game, Assorted games and books, K-cup/12 cup pot coffee maker, Toaster, Air fryer, Blender, Hand mixer, Can opener, Slow cooker, Hair dryer, Extensive cookware, bakeware and bowls, Dinnerware for 8, Silverware for 8, Glassware, wine glasses (both glass and plastic), Rubbermaid food storage containers, Trash bags, Extensive kitchen utensils, Aluminum foil, plastic wrap, Basic spices, Salt & pepper, PAM, Hand soap, dish soap and room deodorizer sponges, dish towels, paper towels and toilet paper, Kleenex, napkins and paper bathroom cups, First Aid kit, Flashlights, Fire extinguisher, High speed internet, Smart TVs with Built-in Fire sticks. Free streaming for Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, HBOMax, PBS+, Fox Nation, and Paramount+. No cable, Iron and ironing board, Propane fire pit w/exterior seating, Exterior storage shed and Outside Shower for when you return from the beach.

(Disposable supplies limited to on hand quantities at start of stay. Any replenishment during stay is the responsibility of the tenant. On hand quantities should be sufficient for a week’s stay.)

Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% of refund  of all monies minus $ 39 Processing Fee and Any Credit Card Convenience Fees Paid.  If less then 30 days: the advanced rent is only refundable subject to the following: The property is re-rented for the same period. Re-rental of less than a full week will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. The Agent will retain a $39.00 processing charge and any convenience fees charged. *Deposits are not refunded for ANY reason (including bad weather).

Nice small cottage

Nice, comfortable cottage for two. Came for Thanksgiving and lots of birding on the island. Well supplied kitchen made meals easy. And Chincoteague didn't disappoint

This place was everything that they say about it and some additional things as well. Very well equipped with beachwear and kitchen amenities. Well, shaded by the trees so that we ate most of our meals outside. And the outdoor shower is fantastic after the beach. I highly recommend this place. It was wonderful!

You could see that special care was put into every detail of this cottage, inside and outside of it. My family agreed that this was definitely one of the nicest cottages we've ever stayed in at Chincoteague- and we've been coming for years. The quality of everything provided was exceptional.

Access to storage for bikes which were great Trek bikes but we brought our own and could store ours safely in the shed. Made great use of the kitchen with good quality kitchen pots, pans knives etc. used the beach cart and the cooler on wheels made going to the beach easy. Always felt safe here. TV good quality and comfortable furniture. Everything was clean and in new like condition which is rarely found in a VRBO. Loved the outdoor shower!

Another great vacation on CI

Cypress cottage was wonderful. Fully equipped is an understatement! It had everything my family needed and then some. Though the house is a little bit away from the main spots and restaurants, it is extremely peaceful and quiet. The front yard is a treasure. Nothing beats laying in the hammock under the shade of the tree in the afternoon after a great day at the beach! Though our family had a house on the island (which was being renovated this summer) we would definitely recommend this wonderful, cozy cottage for a small group.

The beds are comfortable, the room adjacent to the living room is perfect to play board games with the kids. The outdoor shower is a dream with soap and shampoo dispensers and additional towels. Beach towels and chairs are provided. 2 adult bikes and one medium size are also available. Don’t expect much storage place in the kitchen because it’s already fully equipped. We had to store our pantry items outside the kitchen. I would definitely go back!

The cottage itself is gorgeous, well appointed, clean, comfortable with amazing use of space. You really have to bring no equipment with you, as the shed contains 3 bikes and all the beach gear you could need!Really like the stay- can't wait to return!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cottage is clearly loved. Every touch, from the decor to the furniture, showed how much thought goes into this lovely cottage. We especially appreciated the extras provided by the host — a welcome bowl of fruit, access to bikes, etc. The town (and wildlife refuge) are a short drive or bike away. We had a great week here, and enjoyed the beautiful yard as well. As a birder, I loved the white ibises which grazed next door. The only challenge was that the driveway takes careful maneuvering around the light/telephone pole near it, and if you have rain, which we did, there are lots of puddles on the dirt roads around the cottage.

We were a short walk to Main Street where we could watch the ponies at they were headed to and from the carnival grounds. Description of property and amenities was accurate. Window air conditioning worked well. Each bedroom, bonus room, and kitchen had air conditioners. The beach supplies were a life saver with 2 toddlers. They could nap under the tent canopy and the cart was handy for hauling tent, chairs life vests, and bags. Bikes were awesome, although if you are short, the adult bikes may be a challenge. Activities we did included; pony beach walk, pony swim, visiting Asateague National seashore/beach, visiting pony pens, parade, auction, carnival, pony swim home, crabbing, biking, tour of NASA Visitor Center... boat tour w/ Captn Casey was fantastic for kids. Loved Chincoteague!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage was very well appointed, and the decor was wonderful. Loved the comfortable furniture and the cabinet full of attractive and coordinated glassware. The space was rather tight, though. While having a washer and dryer is a plus, having them take up so much space in the kitchen made working in there challenging. The amount of counter space was reduced when the appliances were installed, and I could barely get into the left crisper drawer in the refrigerator because the door could not open beyond 90 degrees. The garden, though, was definitely a plus! Loved the picket fence and the patio and the landscaping. Felt so much more like a home than a short-term rental.
