This lakefront escape features its very own dock, kayaks that you can take out on the water, and a stunning piece of property where you can watch passing wildlife and enjoy rest and relaxation during your stay. You'll also have use of a full kitchen, a gas grill, and a spacious deck where you can unwind in the summer sun. A large dining area with wrap-around windows throughout offers stunning views of the lake. Stay cool with central air during the hot summer months, or sit back on a brisk winter day in front of the cozy fireplace while watching the blissful snow fall.

Girls weekend

Rays retreat is a perfect little spot for a weekend getaway or family vacation. Our stay was super comfortable and everything was very clean. We would definitely choose this spot again!

Bonfire relaxation

What a wonderful Mothers Day getaway with our family. The town of Eagle River is close and walkable. We enjoyed games at the big dining room table.

Fun lake visit

The house is a perfect lake retreat. We had iffy weather but we’re still able to have a great stay. We had a fawn and mom walk by almost daily and a bear cub came by on our last day. The lake was very relaxing and great sunset views from the dock. It’s a very quiet location which is exactly what I wanted. Local grocery store made it easy to shop and cook.

Beautiful place to stay!

The view from the house is breathtaking. From inside the house to outside on the deck the view was stunning. You felt like you were in a tree house , high above the lake looking out amidst the pine trees. I definitely recommend staying here.

Lake View Beauty

The lake view alone was worth it. Sadly, we had cold, rainy weather to really be able to enjoy it. With five long-time girlfriends, we managed to enjoy slow mornings over coffee enjoying the lake from the inside. Traveling to nearby towns for shopping and dining was great.

Beautiful lake view!

We had a very enjoyable vacation at this lake house! We were a group of 6 and had plenty of space. We loved the beautiful views of the lake. The outside space was also lovely…large deck, outdoor swing, hammock, fire pit and chairs, large dock. There were also two kayaks available for our use. All in all a great house. We would stay here again.

Quiet and Clean

Ray’s Retreat was clean and close to town on a small and quiet lake. The wall of windows and deck overlooking the lake were great spots for relaxing, as was the master bedroom with its own patio on the lower level. The kayaks and stand-up paddle board were a bonus and allowed us to tour the lake at our own pace. The owners provided everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. We’d definitely stay at Ray’s again and highly recommend it to others!

Quiet solitude

We enjoyed our stay immensely! It was so quiet with a beautiful view and very clean. This vacation home was the most well equipped place we have ever stayed. The kitchen is stocked with all of the dishes, pots and pans etc. that you would ever need. We did not mind the stairs at all, but if you are disabled or cannot handle a lot of stairs it may be difficult to go down to the dock on the lake or use the downstairs bedroom. We definitely would come back if the opportunity presents itself.

Beautiful views, nice lake

While the living spaces were a tad smaller than we thought, it worked well for our family of 6. The lake is a nice one, clear waters and overall pretty quiet (except for that girls summer camp occasionally playing music, but it wasn’t every night and it was on the other end of the lake). The view from the addition is what makes this place special. What could be improved is the downstairs (master) bed— would recommend a refresh there as we felt jealous of our kids on the nicer twin mattresses. But, the lake and the views and the peace and quiet is what we were there for and that was all outstanding. Would stay again.

Beautiful Views!

There are beautiful views inside and outside of the house of the lake. Floor to ceiling windows are wonderful and they're also able to be slid open for airflow. Having air conditioning was a bonus during the hot week we were there. The lower level has a beautiful view of the lake also. We did not use the fire pit, but it also has a very good location. We grilled on the deck most evenings and enjoyed the table and umbrella for our meals outside. We will look at booking this location again. We also were in contact with Vacasa for some minor issues and they were resolved. John was a great maintenance guy!

Beautiful and Serene cabin

We had such a wonderful time at Ray’s Retreat. We came in the winter to ski at Brule which is 45 minutes away. The cabin was so beautiful with its wood burning stove to keep us warm and cozy, incredible views of the lake through the all window 3 season porch room, and spacious basement suite with huge shower. It has all the amenities you would want in an incredible area of natural beauty. We will be back for sure. Thank you! One suggestion I would make for travelers is to grab firewood on your way in so you can light a fire right away.

Peaceful retreat on Meta Lake

Rays Retreat is an amazing rental. It offers spectacular views of the lake from many vantage points. Speaking of the lake…Meta Lake is a true gem. It’s private, quiet and the fishing can’t be beat! Just from the pier, we caught bluegills, crappie, bass, pumpkinseed, walleye and northern pike! There are two kayaks for venturing further out. The outdoor spaces are inviting,,,large pier, fire pit area, hammock, bench swing and upper deck for grilling and gathering around a large table. We only used the bedroom on the lower floor. Very private with a luxurious king bed, ultra luxurious walk-in shower and sliding glass doors to lower patio with nice lake views. Great for couples or families with kiddos. Because this property has lots of stairs, it can be very challenging for those with mobility concerns. Highly recommend this property.

A perfect getaway, not too far away from town, but far enough!

The quiet lake, stunning views - the wide open floorplan provides amazing views both upstairs and downstairs. The huge deck and outdoor dining space, swing, fire pit, amazing dock. We used the wood burning fire place on a cold dreary day and watched the white caps on the lake from inside. That sun room is unbeatable. The kitchen is all anyone really needs, not that big, but usable for quick meals. The laundry worked great. We were very comfortable, so relaxing, enjoyed the deer and wildlife, short drives to downtown Eagle River and all around the area. Wifi was great too. Oh - and I almost forgot that downstairs shower - WOW. Wasn't expecting the comfort and spaciousness of that entire master suite downstairs. Only cautions - the stairs inside may be a bit challenging, portion of it without railing (there's a turn that is hard to navigate) - they did provide a baby gate to keep kids from going down if needed. For elderly or someone with balance issues, that could be an issue...but I'd suggest using the outside stairs...or staying upstairs/ground level if that was the case. This place is perfect for getting away to peace and quiet, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, swimming, etc.

Beautiful Views but Disappointing

I was looking forward to staying here in one of my favorite places in Wisconsin. The pictures are truly beautiful. In person, I felt it could've used some love. The property is managed by a property management group which lack in detail. First and foremost, you have to walk up a few stairs to get in the cabin and nothing was shoveled. Not the driveway, stairs, deck, nothing. Luckily a shovel was left so we were able to shovel ourselves (like that's what you want to have to do on vacation). There was a sheet of ice on the deck and stairs so it was very slippery and dangerous and the ice was so thick the screen door would hardly open for us to get inside. In the kitchen, there was a sign posted that the dish and silverware had not been sanitized(which is common in VRBOs) and it gave you suggestions on how to sanitize them yourself with warm water and bleach, but no bleach was left behind. I really wish there was because we found mold in the bottom of the wine glasses that were in the cabinets. Also in the kitchen was a sign next to the coffee pot advertising for a "cute coffee place in town." It stated the first cup was complimentary, which is a wonderful gesture, but there was no sample left. Not a huge deal, just get rid of the sign that advertises it. There were no rags or sponges to do dishes with and only one drying towel. There were a ton of light switches but only three labeled which made finding lights very difficult. They had a lot of fun games to play but many were missing parts or broken which was a little disappointing. The concept between the upstairs area and the downstairs master area were wonderful and spacious. My two complaints about the lower level are, there was a Keurig on the desk, which is a great concept for coffee in bed but there were not cups or anything left with it so it defeated the purpose. The other issue I had, which is probably my biggest gripe about this location and made it the most disappointing, is the downstairs has those big beautiful windows that you can look out at the lake. However, it had automatic blinds and curtains on it that were broken and couldn't be opened. The switch would only allow them to open up about 6 inches and it looked like prior renters had tried to fix it but failed and it just wouldn't work. So the whole time, the blinds were completely closed to the outside. Very disappointing!

Relaxing stay

We enjoyed family time with our closest family friends. I would rent again in the future summer months. All the amenities of the house were exactly what you need for a weekend stay. The only draw backs of our stay was not having a shovel to clean up sidewalks and stairs. As two families with young children the lack of baby/toddler proofing was a huge safety concern. The awkward staircase that could use a baby gait, outlet plug covers, and the staples on the rope light that enhances the step down into the four seasons/dinning room.
