Beautiful home, fantastic amenities!

We cannot say enough positive about this property! It is a beautiful, well-maintained home right on the beach with a pool and hot tub that overlook the beach. It was well stocked with everything we needed to enjoy the beach and more. The hosts were great, highly recommended!

Beautiful Views

We go to the beach early in the season to escape the dismal winters of the northeast. This property had exactly what we wanted. Beautiful beach front view with a nice pool and hot tub. The whole house is incredibly well maintained and the owners definitely poor a lot of love into the property. If you want easy beach access and rooms with great views then this propery is perfect.

The house just amplifies the beach front location. Accommodated the needs of my 94-year old mother and all the other family members. The layout between floors and on each floor were perfect for needs of each individual, whether they wanted to be among a group or have time on their own

Fantastic Spring Break Stay

The home owner greeted us at the property with a homemade pound cake his wife made and a 30 min tour that allowed us to see where all of the switches, latches, booklets and other necessary items were located. The setup was beyond amazing and we will for sure be back to stay at this exact property!!

Another Fabulous Week

This is our fifth year at Tranquility & we would not stay anywhere else!! This is our annual vacation with family & friends. The elevator is amazing, given we have family with mobility issues. And plenty of room for two big families! George & Suzanne are wonderfully kind & keep Tranquility in amazing shape. Can’t say enough good things about our week! Will definitely return for our sixth year!

Spectacular home! It is the best beach home imaginable in every way! We loved everything about it!

From the minute we walked in the door, we loved everything about this home! The views of the ocean from the wall of windows spanning the living area and kitchen, views from the balcony on that level, and from the 3rd floor balcony are breathtakingly beautiful! We loved that the upstairs had 3 bedrooms with doors opening to the 3rd floor balcony with rocking chairs. All of the bedrooms are wonderful; the living room area is so cheerily decorated with comfortable furniture; the kitchen is very well stocked with anything you could possibly need; the game room with big screen tv and computer station is wonderful; and really, every single thing about this home is amazing! George and Suzanne have thought of everything, from a delicious welcome gift enjoyed by all, to having supplies and necessities to get us started for the week without having to go shop upon arrival, to having extra towels for each guest. They have so well maintained their home that everything looks brand new! The pool and hot tub are sparkling and very nice, right there to enjoy while seeing the beach and ocean! We held a family wedding on the beach at the end of our week there, and it was the absolutely most perfect setting with the beautiful home and beautiful beach and ocean! George and Suzanne are wonderful, welcoming owners who made it clear that they were available if we needed anything. The only problem with this home was that nobody wanted to leave - ever! It is the ideal place for a large family gathering - a happy, happy place, and all of our family and friends who were with us give it the highest recommendation possible! Stay here if you have a chance! It is paradise!

Beautiful and relaxing

We loved our stay at this amazing beachfront home, and really appreciated the hospitality shown by George and Suzanne. The views couldn't be better, and the home is so well equipped in every way. The location is ideal for both beach walking, and for exploring nearby areas. Easy access to both groceries and restaurants. The only downside was having to leave at the end of the week!

We were very fortunate to be able to stay for the second year in a row! This house is fantastic! The accommodations are beautiful and well planned and cared for. The attention to detail is superb! It has been a rare find to have such accessibility for our daughter with some disabilities! It is always a sad time when we have to leave! Tranquility at the Beach

Imagine the perfect getaway that feels like home with a spectacular view of the ocean....that is what my family experienced for Christmas 2017! The home was beautifully decorated, and every amenity that you could imagine was provided (especially in the kitchen)! The layout of the home allowed us to share great meals together, play games to the wee hours of the morning, enjoy the majesty of the ocean, and occasionally get some sleep!

Wonderful, clean, beautiful beach home!

Our family has stayed at this beautiful beach home over Thanksgiving the past five years. It is a beautiful, well-maintained home. We continue to be impressed with the improvements and general maintenance that is done each year. It is always clean and well stocked with dishes, bar ware, glasses, pots and pans, and small appliances. We also appreciate all the little things provided making it unnecessary to go to the store immediately to purchase toilet paper, tissues, dish soap, etc. The welcome tin of chocolate covered pretzels have become a very much appreciated expectation of the family. The only thing that could make it better would be a three burner gas grill to cook our Thanksgiving turkey!

Tranquility

Tranquility was truly the welcome mat to beautiful Emerald Isle, North Carolina! Well-appointed and comfortable, this very accommodating and spacious beach house afforded us a most relaxing vacation. "Tranquility" is a Wonderful and Accurate Name for this Property.

We have been coming to Tranquility at least once each year since we first "discovered" it in 2004. Sometimes we bring family and sometimes we bring friends. Sometimes we have a full house, and sometimes we just have three couples. Each visit is memorable. Our biggest problem as "hosts" is that we can't honor every request that typically starts off with "We had a great time and would like to come back with you next year!" The owners of Tranquility are also the managers. They are wonderful and caring people who live in a neighboring town. They are geographically close if any problems arise. They have developed a list of competent local service providers in case the renters/guests have a need that the owners can't handle. This year one of our guest couples told me that "The amenities are too numerous to mention them all, but the beds are comfortable with top-of-the-line bedding, the house is extremely clean throughout, it has a well-stocked kitchen, and the pool, hot-tub and outdoor shower are wonderful." The furnishings are stylish, the beach is sandy (no rocks), and the views of the beach and ocean from inside the house are spectacular! The covered deck that is off the main floor is a gathering spot for our friends and family for coffee, breakfast, conversation, reading, dolphin-watching, snoozing, pre-dinner drinks, and watching the Moon.

Amazing beach house!

George and Suzanne's home is just that! A home! You feel so comfortable from the moment you step in. They've really done all the right things like stocking the kitchen generously, decorating the living room and bedrooms lavishly, and providing lots of play areas for kids and adults! This home is also very friendly for those who have physical limitations with steps. The location is wonderful and our family has already made plans to return! Thank you so much George and Suzanne!

This house is perfect for our family beach week!

This is our third year staying at George and Sue's beautiful beach house. We have 7 small grandchildren and the layout is perfect for watching them. The pool on the beach side of the house is wonderful. Just about everything you need is provided. From a well equipped kitchen to plenty of towels to lots of beach and pool toys for the children. We look forward to returning again next year.

Our family began vacationing on Emerald Isle, North Carolina in the early 1990's, returning year after year to the same lovely and accommodating rental home, the beautiful white sandy beaches and the warm ocean waters. In 2001 an opportunity arose for us to build an oceanfront home and we seized upon it, building TRANQUILITY, our 3,300 sq ft, 6 bedroom beach house which was completed in May 2002. Our family of five children and eleven grandchildren have had a great time every year vacationing at TRANQUILITY, enjoying not only the beach, ocean, pool, hot tub and other amenities the house offers, but the day trips to the Lighthouse at Cape Lookout, the historic towns of Beaufort, New Bern and Swansboro, as well as visits to the recently renovated and expanded NC Aquarium, only 20 minutes away. We enjoyed the CRYSTAL COAST so much that in 2008 we moved to Swansboro, NC, 10 miles from Emerald Isle.
As a retired nurse and engineer George and Suzanne Desrochers have now committed themselves to ensuring that the families who select TRANQUILITY as their vacation home enjoy the same pleasures and memorable family moments offered by EMERALD ISLE and the CRYSTAL COAST; the pleasures we and our family have enjoyed over the past 30 years. Come and experience all the simple pleasures a vacation at the ocean has to offer, and bring home family memories which will last a lifetime.

Why they chose this property

After vacationing on Emerald Isle for over 10 years staying; for one or two weeks each Summer; at the same lovely and accommodating rental home, enjoying the beaches, ocean and other attractions in the area, we decided we would purchase our own beach house if the opportunity presented itself. In 2001 the opportunity came. We built TRANQUILITY and have since enjoyed many wonderful vacations with family and friends. The memories we have are priceless.

What makes this property unique

Some of the activities which have made our vacations at TRANQUILITY so special are the gatherings of family and friends together to enjoy each others company; teaching the grandchildren to swim in the pool, body surf in the ocean and fish in Bogue Sound; flying kites on the beach; day trips to the Lighthouse at Cape Lookout; visits to the NC Aquarium on rainy days; cooking and eating fresh crabs and clams; bike riding to the ice cream shop; and in the cool months, sitting in the hot tub on a clear night, looking at and hearing the pounding surf, and gazing up at the starry starry sky wearing our ski hats and holding a glass of fine wine. We love the area and built our retirement home in Swansboro, NC only 10 miles from Tranquility.
