Property was lovely, especially the end of season gardens(wonderful spot to put up our feet and catch a breath between sight seeing and dinner. Bedding comfortable
We were in town for 3 nights. Loved every aspect of our visit - even the cold, snowy days! Inn located in a perfect location for walking to lots of delicious restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay at the Skolfield Inn again.
I stayed here with a friend for a girls' trip. It was such a nice place to relax. The garden was lovely! We loved that so many great restaurants are in walking distance. We didn't realize there was a park just up the street with views of the bay until the last day! Overall it was a great little place to stay.
We had a lovely time at this property! The common spaces of the house and the room itself were both super clean and cozy. You are about a 20 min walk from downtown but if you are feeling lazy, the Uber is 5 dollars. Would stay again
Very nice room and modern bath with hardwood old world charm. Walk to many restaurants and shopping. Owner is very responsive to questions. Binder in room with recommendations was very helpful. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed here for a night and couldn’t be more pleased. Check in process was quick, loved all the cute touches to the home and room. Especially loved the garden and all the wildflowers outside. The bed was comfy and room was spacious. Only thing is to be aware of that this location is right by the hospital. That didn’t bother us at all and the area was still pretty quiet!
The setup of this inn and its charming Victorian interior works really well. Good location, responsive hosts, and a great value. On-site parking would be tight for a large vehicle, but that is explained in the property information.
Love the architecture and gardens of this property and others in the neighborhood. Near the hospital. Feels very safe. Within walking distance of tourist areas - if you like walking as much as I do. Host was very accommodating. Comfortable bed and bedding. I would definitely stay again.
We loved staying at the Skofield Inn. The parking lot is tight (especially for spot/room #1), so we had to do the street parking thing, but it wasn't an issue over the weekend. The room was clean and exactly as described, good pressure on the shower (which was desperately needed after 2 nights camping), and we enjoyed exploring the neighborhood. There's a beautiful park about 2 blocks from the Inn that has amazing views, and you're about a 5-10 minute drive from downtown Portland which is very convenient.
Property was better than described, it was a very cozy (yes, that means small, but that was exactly what we expected), but with the common areas available, we only used the room at night. It's a little hike to the Old Port area, but Portland is very walkable, so that wasn't an issue. There were no issues with finding the Inn, checking in, or staying there for two days. The price was very reasonable, and we would stay there again.
Perfect getaway! The gardens are beautiful, a great place to sit! Our room was lovely. The light was excellent from a big front window, blackout curtains
work! Bathroom small as advertised but an exquisite jewel box! Would come back in a heartbeat!
We really enjoyed our stay! The room was clean, well decorated and got great morning light. The west end park around the corner is great for picnicking and reading. Easy walk to most of Downtown Portland.
