The Sleepy Elk offers the convenience of being just a 10-minute walk from Lake Estes. It’s a 12-minute drive to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, and only a 6-minute walk to Antonio’s Real New York Pizza—an absolute must-visit. You’re also just a 7-minute walk from both Backbone Adventures and Sombrero Stables.

You have one of the best spots in town for watching the Estes Park 4th of July fireworks. Relax on the back porch and enjoy the show from the comfort of the home.
Other things to note
Air Conditioning / Mini Splits
Only a few properties in the area offer air conditioning / mini splits, and we’re proud to provide them for your comfort. The main living room upstairs is equipped with two mini-split units, while the master bedroom, guest bedroom upstairs, and the large downstairs bedroom each have their own. Ceiling fans are also provided in the master bedroom, guest bedroom, downstairs bedroom, and upstairs living room.

Important A/C Usage Reminder:
To ensure the A/C units run efficiently, please do not operate them if the outside temperature is below 71°F. Running the A/C in cooler temperatures can cause the units to freeze and leak water, potentially leading to damage.

- Please do not move couches, beds or larger furniture as they can damage the property.
Animals are not permitted on the property due to a health and safety concern for our non-verbal child with special needs, who is allergic. Violations will incur a $500 fee.

No Events or Gatherings
Events, parties, or group gatherings are not allowed. A maximum of 8 people (including minors) is permitted on the property at any given time. This house rule is strictly enforced - please do not exceed it. This is a duplex, we do not live next door

No Smoking, Vaping, or Marijuana Use
Smoking, vaping, or marijuana use is prohibited inside the property, within 20 feet of an entrance, and near the outdoor A/C unit. Violations will result in a $500 fee.

Do Not Tamper with Cameras
Tampering with security cameras is strictly prohibited.

Hot Tub Usage
The hot tub lift must be used properly; violations will incur a $100 fee.
Eating or drinking in or around the hot tub is not allowed. Violations will result in a $250 fee. Please follow hot tub rules listed next to hot tub.
Estes Park has a city ordinance of quiet hours of 10 PM to 8 AM.
Maintenance and Repairs
Guests must promptly notify the host of any maintenance, repair, or cleaning issues. Guests must also grant the host and/or technicians access to the property to address these concerns after notification.

The perfect vacation rental for family & friends

This house was clean, well furnished, and had a ton of great amenities. It's also in the perfection location-- near restaurants, downtown Estes Park, and the entrance to Rocky Mountain National park. After a day of outdoors, my group had a great time playing the many games in the house, watching elk from the balcony, grilling, and enjoying the comfortable living room areas. Fun Week

Place was perfect for two adult couples and three adult children. Hot tub really was nice after a 4-6 mile hike. Did not do much cooking but it had everything we needed. Lots of space to spread out both inside the house and on the porches. Would stay again.

Beautiful home!

We booked this home for our family and friends and it was absolutely perfect! The teens had their own hang out area and room to spread out. The house is absolutely beautiful! The kitchen has everything you could ask for while cooking for the family. I was so impressed by the care taken by the owner asking if we needed anything and giving suggestions in the area of things to eat. I would definitely stay here again!!

The property is nicely renovated and has a lot of fun activities in house. The only thing that wasn’t accurate on the listing was the fact it is a duplex/condo style property. I wish the listing would have been more clear with that.

Family Mountain Trip

Janell could not be more pleasant to communicate with and rent with. There were 8 of us, 4 adults and 4 kids under 4. The house was perfect for families with toys, baby gates, pack n plays, and kid friendly kitchenware. This house was a perfect location to get to and from RMNP (10 min drive to entrances). Fantastic family stay in beautiful Estes Park

Our family all loved our stay at this property: clean, renovated (felt like new), and so many amenities. My favorites were the huge-2-person master shower, the hot tub, the large dining room table, and the coffee bar. Other favorites were the game table and the arcade basketball game. It was so nice to have a place big enough for everyone to have their own room. The beds were so comfortable, and the property was so quiet, that we all slept really well. The baby elk with its parents walking across the yard on our first night was a definite plus. Thank you for such a wonderful stay in beautiful Estes Park. We hope to return some day.

The house was clean, spacious, updated and had plenty of things to do. Many games and even extra toys for young ones. It was close to everything in Estes Park. We even ran into some deer hanging out by the driveway. Being a coffee lover I thought having a small coffee bar stocked in the kitchen was a great touch. Especially before I could get to the store.

Girls Weekend - Perfect!

We were celebrating my sister's 60th birthday with moms and adult daughters - house was perfect for our group. Great views from the front deck and all the amenities you could want. We didn't get to use the hot tub, but enjoyed the fire pits outside - the extra heater made it comfortable for the upper 40's temps in the evening. Love the proximity to Lake Estes - nice walk around the lake. We enjoyed horseback riding, hiking in RMNP, wine tasting at Snowy Peaks, and dinners out at Bird & Jim and The Rock Inn. Saw many elk in the neighborhood. Only thing that could have been better was the twin beds in the lower level bedroom - too firm and not very comfortable. Others were all good. Overall nice place!

Best weekend ever

The property was great, location was great and all the amenities were great and well thought out. The grandkids enjoyed the games and movie picks. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were great. We truly enjoyed our stay and really would like to book it for next year for the same weekend.

We also have breathtaking mountain views and are nestled in a peaceful, safe neighborhood. One of our favorite features is having one of the best spots to watch the 4th of July fireworks, all visible right from our patio.
