Located in the gated community of the St. George Island Plantation, this 3BR/2BA beachfront home features panoramic views of the secluded beach, outdoor deck, , and all of the extras like Cable TV, Stereo, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, Microwave and a grill. NO SMOKING, NO PETS.

The beach was somewhat visible, but the foliage needs cut down some. The path to the beach also needs the foliage cut back. The bed was extremely soft. All of that being said, I would stay there again. Excellent location for the price.

House was very clean. Fit our needs. It was exactly what we were looking for. Structurally could use some work. On the south end of downstairs cross bracing is loose and the deck could use a facelift. Beside that, it was great.

Location and views were perfection. The external staircases and deck were in much need for replacement However, we've rebooked the Sea Turtle again for next year!

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The best part of this house was the from the balcony, it was amazing. The house is in bad shape- whole house shakes when you cross the room. Not safe to lean against balcony railings. I would say it needs updating, but it actually needs to be rebuilt.

Reviewer Comments: Pros- steps to the beach, Plantation amenities-walking distance to pool, tennis courts, weight room, main clubhouse, great location, very clean and well maintained, great management company.Cons- Owner needs to replace dryer. DO NOT USE IT UNTIL YOU ASK IF IT HAS BEEN REPLACED. It tore holes and left brown marks on a whole load of laundry. I still did laundry but hung to dry.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sea Turle is very affordable and was very clean but the property need some TLC, especially the deck. The railing is missing some spindles and the railing on the right side of the steps leading down to the path to the beach is not even attached to the house. It’s very unsafe and I definitely would not have children stay at the house. also the bushes off the deck need to be trimmed way back. You have to walk to the far end of the deck to see the beach because these bushes are so overgrown and obstruct the view.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I didn’t realize this property was located in a private gated community when I booked it. We just wanted a last minute get away from Destin and I knew I wanted something on the beach so I chose location over the quality of the actual house and that worked for us! However people should know this house is like preserved in time. I don’t think anything has been replaced or even attempted to upgrade since it was built and originally decorated. No water pressure, sliding glass doors throw bits of rust when you open them. There are some nails that stick up on the deck. Furniture is old. But the view is great. You have access to the plantation pools and nature trails. So if you are looking for beach front in a nice neighborhood and don’t care about the house this place is it.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have vacationed at SGI for decades. This time we rented Sea Turtle because it was the only beachfront house still available. We found out why. The owners are letting it run down. Peeling paint, rickety deck, bare minimum kitchenware that required scrubbing caked on food before we could use. The worst was the whole house swayed! It’s common for houses on wooden stilts to move a little In the wind but this actually swayed in the wind or when someone walked across the floor-scary!The location is great and the rooms are spacious but we felt it was not structurally sound. Our son, an engineer, felt it was dangerous. We had a great time because we love the island but would never stay in Sea Turtle or recommend it.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve stay here the last two summers for a week and really enjoyed our time here. Pros: right on the beach with private access (a stones throw from deck to beach), beautiful views, AC works great, fairly priced, all the basic necessities you need from a beach house; this area of beach is lovely and we often didn’t have folks next to us, or if we did they were a good 30 yards or so away. Cons (stuff I’d like them to work on): deck has had some repairs since last summer, but needs a bit more; main con is no outdoor table on back porch and there was only three deck lounging chairs on the deck and each was broken in some capacity (simple fix with a little investment by rental co) - we remembered this from last year and brought our own portable picnic table which worked well; house needs to be continuously treated for bugs, it’s prob an issue for most beach houses, but seemed like a lot of bugs inside we came across; water pressure was often limited as was hot water, but not a big deal even with 6 people. Overall a good house that was fairly priced to reflect the older house. I recommend it!

Office staff is super friendly and welcoming.

Disappointed and no worth the money

Reviewer Comments: I have been coming to SGI for 12 years and this is the worst house we have stayed in. It is obvious the owners don't care for the house or their renters comfort or safety. The furniture is so old there is no cushion left and you feel every rod and sink way into the cushions. The stove is so old the numbers on the dials for the burners are no longer visible and the left front burner stopped working. The 2 sets of outside stairs have loose boards and the back porch railing has pulled away from the house. There are many boards that are rotting on the stairs, porch and outside of the house. The hot water in the shower had pulses of cold water. The house shakes when someone walks across the floor or simple shifts positions on the couch. There is construction debris in the bushes in the back yard that are visible from the porch.The house was clean and the view was good. The trees and bushes obstruct the view a little. It is a very short walk to the beach. SunCoast Realty is as usual very great to work with.

The stated WiFi service is not functioning at this house. Fact: contiguous and nearby houses have working WiFi services. So this is a management and / or ownership issue, and Suncoast is vague / ineffective / dishonest explaining and resolving. Additionally, if you have a separate input source, the one TV unit will not turn on. No effort by Suncoast to address this during our stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had beautiful weather. The house needs some attention, but that did not deter me from staying there twice this year. The bathroom shower fixtures need fixing. The deck and stairs have issues, but I did not feel unsafe, just don't walk barefooted. The path to the beach needs widening. One of the bedroom doors will not close. Hoping they make these fixes before next year as it is one of the more affordable places to stay.
