Great Family Vacation

This unit is well appointed and had everything we needed for our stay with our family. Judy made the check in process easy and even called to let us know the unit was ready earlier than expected which was appreciated. The beds were comfortable and the travel crib and high chair for our youngest was a bonus. We would certainly stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ciscos cottage. The cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Judy went above and beyond to make our stay a great one. The place remained naturally cool because it is situated in the shade of several nearby trees. The walk to the swimming pool is suitable for most guests, but since we had small children, we decided to drive instead, which was perfectly acceptable. The town is a very short drive away, and Rathtrevor Beach is literally next door. We would 100% stay here again.

My friend and I, plus two small dogs, stayed 6 nights here and had the most wonderful vacation!HOST: Judy gets ten out of ten for being friendly and very attentive, but professional enough not to be intrusive. Had she not told us about Parksville's Tuesday evening market, we would have missed out on a fun experience.COTTAGE: We have never stayed anywhere so perfectly provisioned with all you could possibly need. The house was very clean and comfortable and we appreciated there being two bedrooms AND two bathrooms. As an indicator of the standard of care and cleanliness, we found, when looking for the dish scourer, that a brand new one only was provided.LOCATION: This small subdivision of attractive holiday houses was clearly built with care. Old trees and shrubs were carefully preserved so that the whole area is green and peaceful. It has ensured that the houses, though close in proximity, each feel private. Cisco's Cottage has the Island road running behind it, separated by a broad swathe of trees. This can sometimes make it noisy to sit out on the back deck, but at the front and inside the house there is minimal disturbance.AREA: The cottage is right next to Rathtrevor Provincial Park. You can walk to the beach in ten minutes through the private resorts. By car, it takes just four minutes. The Park has huge beaches (not all dog-friendly) and is surely one of the most scenic places on the island.We would confidently recommend this cottage and marvellous holiday spot!

cozy cottage

The cottage was perfect. Had everything that our family needed. I appreciated all of the kitchen utensils, pots & pans etc., and any cleaning supply you would need including pods for the dishwasher and powder for the washer. Bathrooms were well stocked with extra large & soft bath towels as well as plenty of beach towels. Bathroom also had shampoo, conditioner, body lotion & hand soap. It was extremely clean. There were chairs to take to the beach and beach toys. I can't think of anything else that we could have needed. Judy was an excellent host. She checked in with us on the first day to see if we needed anything and said we could reach her anytime if we did. AC would have been nice as the loft bedroom gets very hot. There were fans in both bedrooms. The indoor pool at the resort was great and my grandson loved it. The only thing missing at the resort is a children's playground but we spent lots of time doing other things in Parksville. We had a fantastic week and would definitely go back.

The cottage was in perfect order . The most bothersome aspect of the stay was the proximity of the cottage to the main road. It was not possible to sit on the deck and enjoy the day as it was too noisy for conversation, morning noon and night. This was disappointing as the weather could not have been more perfect. As a result we had our morning coffee on the front deck but it was too small to have our meals there.

My family truly enjoyed our stay here. Hubby, myself, 6 year old, 2 year old and dog. The place is super clean (and I'm a clean freak) and fully equipped for a family. The cottage stayed cool, nestled in the trees. We felt like we were in nature. If you want easy beach access, this wouldn't be a good fit, it takes about 25 min to walk to the beach via the Provincial park, but for us that was fine. We enjoyed all the space in the cottage, the BBQ, the pool, and going for nice walks. Great family place! Easy walking to mini golf. Judy was great at communicating and welcomed us so nicely when we arrived. We will be booking again for sure.
